Tonight: Boston Marathon Bombings

Coming up this evening at 9, "Piers Morgan Live" will have continuing coverage of Monday's Boston Marathon bombings.

In the aftermath of an incident that has resulted in multiple deaths, and more than 100 injuries, Piers Morgan will anchor the show from his New York studio, welcoming eye witnesses to the explosions, as well as a series on CNN reporters who will be on the ground in Boston with the latest updates.

Amongst those expected to join the program this evening is David Abel, a "Boston Globe" reporter who shared this message on Twitter earlier this afternoon:

In addition to Abel, Boston.com Sports producer Steve Silva is scheduled to speak live with the host having captured what is widely being viewed as the most-compelling video seen thus far (warning: strong language):

Tune in this evening at 9 as "Piers Morgan Live" continues coverage of deadly event that officials are linking to terrorism.

Lotta love to Boston, echoes of London '05,hope death toll don't creep up[2 at present],but just heard a woman claim her kids in the back were noticing limbs strewn as she drove. Not good, people may well be bleeding to death. We all stay tuned and stay together,so let's cut the vitriol for one night,it's like a slanging match at the best of times, but not tonight.GBA.

Please don't tell me Rudy is talking about 9/11 again, every time something happens in this country it's Obama's fault. Every time something good happens you can credit George Bush. Had anyone criticized Bush then it was un-American now the President isn't doing his job. The terrorist are afraid to stick their head out the door under President Obama, no one wants to be in charge of El kida or any other terrorist organization. You don't see them sending us videos talking about killing us. Let Pres Obama alone,

Who said the suspect was Black? How could you report such a thing if the authorities have not reported or identified a suspect in any way? And then you just let it go without any supporting information? This is a tragedy regardless of the race of the offender.

All the news networks are reporting the same thing, a dark complexion or black man with foreign accent trying to gain access to a restricted area 5 minutes before the attack; and upon being denied breaking eye contact and covering his face with his hood. I'm curious too of the credibility of this and where it came from, along with the report of a Penske rental van or truck that tried to access the area.

"Surprised?? Well they're always feuding a few streets away, but why here?" says America . "I mean we expect it in other countries, but us being such a peaceful country we just cant understand it."

"Post 9/11 world??? 9/11 happened in the USA and not anywhere else. There were bombings in Europe but the connection isn't seen as relevant. "

PIERS PLEASE ASK if the 2 Boston bombs were detonated by cellphone, if we know exactly what time to the second the bombs were triggered, can we track through the nearest cell tower(s) which calls were legitimate voice conversations, and which was one call followed by another

it seems to me that if the bombs were 12 seconds apart, they were probably detonated by cellphones, it probably took the bomber 12 seconds to hang up from the first call, and then dial the 2nd call

    What do you think?

Can Fran Townsend discuss the type of bombing a little more serious? It is extremely disrespectful to the families who lost loved ones and are injured to say this was a "small bomb". Does it matter how big or small it was? Are we that fortunate that there were ONLY 3 fatalities? Ms. Townsend, there shouldn't be any fatalities; there are no good/bad or small/large bombs. This is a tragedy and we need to repsect all those involved.

"Sympaty is always welcome with troubles, whatever they are. But!!! It's becoming a little overdone, without any answers. It's time to get annoyed, very annoyed. The USA today is becoming Germany in 1936, and getting worse. There is a Dictator at work who sees nothing else but his own agenda in sight. I leave it to the USA to deal with itself, but don't ignore your distant past, and .look much deeper other than post 1965-68."

Piers...look at the position of the moon and the evening star in the sky last night. I thought that it represented the Islamic symbol similar to that of 911. I thought it looked ominous but didn't give it another thought after that.

Just to be clear, I consider all murders and terrorist attacks to be unconscionable. However I Just heard Piers Morgan call the Boston attack the worst terrorist attack on American soil since 9/11. Sorry for any insensitivity, particularly to the loved ones of today's victims, but shouldn't the Newtown massacre and other mass shootings be considered the worst terrorist attacks since 9/11? Americans generally only seem to think of foreigners with bombs as terrorists when in reality terrorists come in many different forms and have a number of different motives.

      Well put.Kevin.

Think detonation of a device is the criterion for a terrorist act;someone on the blog saying Newtown parents at finishing line.

      Nightmare,love to Boston.

I too have a huge amount of sympathy for all who have been affected by this senseless act. But I also can't forget that acts like this are happening daily in other parts of the world and seem to be brushed off as if their childrens deaths don't matter.

I'd say a good majority of us don't all think that way Kevin. We haven't forgotten about Kazinski, McVeigh, Koresh, or Ayers and Dohrn.

I saw some video coverage earlier today with people moving around above, and wondered about it. But news reports have been showing and reporting these as SWAT team snipers, which is pretty standard fare. Let's hope that's all they are.

Yes, all muslims not just students should be banned or vetted to a high degree over a longer period of time before they are allowed to enter. Then they should be watched. Too many muslims especially from extremists countries are allowed into western countries.
How is a radical muslim any different from any other muslim? Is there really a peaceful muslim?
