On Wednesday evening, as law enforcement and government officials try to piece together the motives behind the Boston Marathon bombings, "Piers Morgan Live" welcomed Mitch Silber, Matthew Rojansky and Bob Baer to offer their expert insight and perspective behind the U.S. government's failure to heed warnings from the Russian government.
"It's systemic absolutely. There's no other way to describe it as a failure," said Baer on the recent news that the CIA also ignored reports on bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev. "Immigrations didn't tell the FBI that he was leaving, Immigrations didn't tell the FBI that he was coming back. We don't know what the CIA told the FBI but two warnings from Russian intelligence, you don't ignore."
"It's the return back to the United States, that's really the moment when the red flags should have gone up," said Silber. "When he came back, when he hit Customs and borders at Logan Airport or wherever it may have been, at that point he should have been pulled aside."
Watch the clip, and listen further, as Rojansky explains to Morgan that the radicalization of Tamerlan Tsarnaev could have happened among extremist groups in Dagestan and not in Chechnya.
