Scott Hines on the "mile wide" tornado: "I've never seen anything like this before"

Tonight, "Piers Morgan Live" covered all angles of the devastating "mile wide" tornado that struck the town of Moore, Okla. earlier today and killed at least 51. Joining Piers Morgan live from Moore, KFOR reporter Scott Hines described the scene:

"It's complete, utter destruction. It's been horrific. It's been deadly. Been devastating." Hines explained he has worked in the area for about ten years and he's "never seen anything like this before."

Hines choked up talking to Morgan about the students stuck inside Plaza Towers Elementary. "It resembles a war zone," he described. "Folks are shell-shocked. I'm shell-shocked."

"This was one of those tornadoes that [if] people were not underground, if they weren't seeking shelter underground or in a storm shelter, then the chances of surviving this tornado, so grim. Like slim to none."

Watch the clip, and listen to the interview, as Scott Hines chokes up talking to Piers Morgan.

Seriously? Are you people judging a man who is doing his job? Falling for his theatrics? Chris C, I don't know you, but you should be ashamed. This kind of post screams theatrics. Sounds like you have a personal issue with Mr. Hines and are using this devastating event to air it. I'll pray for you in the same way I am for Mr. Hines who is in midst of the devastation and the destruction, while you sit in your home safe and sound judging another man's work. As for Cathy, cold and heartless? You too should be ashamed. This kind of ridiculous criticism is just another example of what's wrong with people these days. I see you've somehow learned to hate. Why don't you take yourself down in the middle of that to see how heartless you are before you spew such vile remarks about someone else. God help our people who apparently lost their ability to love and be compassionate.

VERY well said Kevin...Sitting in Florida not seeing the devistation or even knowing Scott as person and judging is just wrong. Scott is doing his job which is keeping us updated and reporting the things that happen so we can have compassion to reach out to this community and help them in their time of need and heartache. Show some compassion yourselves!!

        Great to hear from you,Kevin,and it's nail-on-the-head time:people,
for whatever reason, get bogged down in minutiae, and trying to
get to the meat of a discussion is like blood from a stone;recent
examples just on here are Ohio and Boston:I'm posting points
on the women punched in the guts repeatedly to induce
miscarriage,20 or so people debating at length whether
their first language[rescuers]was Spanish or English–I gave up.

Boston...there's a page with a shellshocked boy with NO COMMENTS
until I post demanding why no-one's talking about him,but remain on the
        let's-vilify-the-Brits-and-our-own-President page.Disgraceful.

(They want an enemy? We've got Al-Qaeda riding trains.
        In the United States.)

Worst of all is Newtown, and that guy Alex Jones–owns 50 guns,
thinks the Mafia and NYPD are after him (no, just the Austen Police)–
sitting in a room discussing at length via a webcam whether Obama
shed crocodile tears or not at the press conference, complete with
some grassy-knoll in-depth analysis, and not a WORD on the kids.

Kev,if you see any trains and turbans, just hop on,and I'll see you there...

It was mentioned 4th, 5th, & 6th graders were removed from the school, before the tornado hit. Why were the 3rd graders not taken out of the school????

Excellent point,Tanya,I'll let you get dressed while I...uh... put
    my tuppen'orth in:

you wonder on people sitting at home. Why are they watching?
Sounds like a whole lotta nit-picking:you hear stories about folks
    commenting on people's hair,clothes...

one gets the impression they're NOT LISTENING...

We need to stick together, and NEVER turn the other cheek.
