With nearly every "tele" in Great Britain – and around the world for that matter – dialed in for the latest "Royal Baby" news, on Monday, Catherine, the Duchess of Cambridge, delivered a healthy, heavy baby boy, as the child third in line to the throne tipped the scales at 8 pounds, 6 ounces.
Showcasing impressive stamina, author Katie Nicholl joined "Piers Morgan Live" from Buckingham Palace at roughly 2 a.m. local time, offering the latest delivery details.
With Chris Cuomo filling in for Piers Morgan, the correspondent for "The Mail on Sunday" agreed with the guest host, admitting that Prince Harry may now enjoy some breathing room as his nephew will most-certainly steal all upcoming headlines:
"Prince Harry will be absolutely delighted this evening with the news he's an uncle, he's probably first shoo-in for Godfather," Nicholl told the "New Day" anchor. "But yes, you're right. It does take the spotlight off of him a little bit. He's very busy flying apache helicopters. There's talk of him going back on the front line, and one wonders whether this is just the distraction that he might need to pop off very quietly to Afghanistan at some point soon."
Pressed by Cuomo, Nicholl, who wrote “William and Harry: Behind Palace Walls," offered her predictions for names of the potential future king:
"I think my money's on George and Arthur somewhere in there. And probably Phillip, as a sort of recognition of the Duke of Edinburgh," she revealed.
Wondering about the name Piers as an option, Nicholl jokingly assumed the regular "Piers Morgan Live" host was likely behind her weighing in:
"I think he's discussing it with them at the moment, actually," she quipped.
To Cuomo, however, Morgan was remiss by not even phoning in:
"I'm waiting for him to call," he laughed. "It's getting a little rude, to be honest. It is his show. He should call in by now."
