"Piers Morgan Live, Rewind": Passengers from the plane with failed landing gear; Pope passes on limo in Brazil

Whether you fell asleep early, stayed out too late, or simply want to watch it again, we realize it's not always possible to get your entire "Piers Morgan Live" fix from television. As an answer to this, we offer the below labor of love – "Piers Morgan Live, Rewind" – dedicated and designed to getting you caught up and connected to the conversation.

  • LaGuardia Landing: Passengers recount tragic ordeal

A day which saw the delivery of the "Royal Baby," Monday also featured the equally fascinating arrival of Chris Cuomo, as the "New Day" host pulled his chair up to the "Piers Morgan Live" anchor desk, offering an exciting start to "Guest Host Week."

But while Cuomo's landing was relatively smooth, the same can not be said for Frank Ferramosca and Dominique Player. A pair of passengers on the traumatic Southwest Airlines flight that featured failing landing gear, Ferramosca and Player joined Cuomo via telephone with details of their personal ordeal:

“The flight was a little rocky from the start but nobody thought really anything of it,” shared Ferramosca. “As I'm replaying the scene back over my head, I guess maybe paranoid, but we were told multiples times, more often than usual, make sure all our seatbelts were buckled and that we make sure that we check our neighbors were buckled.”

Though no fatalities occurred as a result of Monday's faulty gear, there were some reported injuries. And for Player, the LaGuardia landing yielded no shortage of terror:

“We were very shaken,” she told Cuomo. “It was almost like, as if you're getting rear ended or, you know, you rear end another automobile, I guess. It's kind of like the feeling that it felt like. You know, the motion with, you know, hitting something so - you know, while you're traveling so quickly was very jarring. And people, you know, were really in a panic at that point. And so, you know, it was really terrifying.”

  • A Pope of the People: Francis skips limo during Brazil trip

Amidst Pope Francis's journey to Brazil, on Monday evening guest host Chris Cuomo invited Father Beck to share his unique perspective.

A renowned religious figure and CNN correspondent, Beck spoke about the Pope's Brazilian transportation, which he found to be consistent with the rest of his choices since being elected the new Bishop of Rome:

“He did not move into the Apostolic Palace. He is not driving in the papal limousine. He is saying mass at Saint Martha’s every morning, with the common folk," explained Beck. "So how does he now go to Brazil and get in an armored vehicle where he can't touch anybody, they can't touch him. It goes against the image, the paradigm shift this man is trying to make.”

Despite security risks, Beck noted the Pope's insistence on living a simpler life, as part of his continued attempt to break down the barriers between himself and the people.
