The top 5 things we've learned about Rick Santorum on "Piers Morgan Live"

Coming up this evening at 9, "Piers Morgan Live" welcomes the return of former Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum.

In advance of his first visit with Piers Morgan in nearly five months, we've compiled a collection of some of the lessons learned during Santorum's previous appearances, and the show's coverage of his political and personal visions:

1. Rick Santorum had himself a fairly spirited battle with Mitt Romney during the GOP primary, later describing his rival's approach as far too passive: "What Mitt Romney, in my opinion, didn't do was go out and vigorously defend the beliefs that he said he espoused and didn't go on the offense," said Santorum in November. "When you're playing defense ... you're not going to win."

2. Rick Santorum isn't perfect, and recognizes that at times he's made some poor word choices. In particular, his use of the word "snob" to describe Barack Obama was a selection that "did not go over very well."

3. Rick Santorum is a man who values the vow of marriage, and took issue with General David Petraeus' extramarital affair, calling it simply "very disturbing."

4. Way back in February of 2012, the former Pennsylvania Senator pulled off powerful primary wins in Missouri, Minnesota, and Colorado, a collection of victories that would forever be known as the "Santorum Sweep."

5. Rick Santorum has a flair for the dramatic, telling Piers Morgan in January of 2012 that his winning of the Iowa caucus could be summed up simply in two words: "Game On."

Join "Piers Morgan Live" at 9 as Santorum returns to the program for a live interview.

    Yo Piers,
Heads up for you, try to get the often understated "Wayne Madsen"' for your show.
Mr Madsen is smart, calm and collected with a wealth of information under his belt and his travels are legendary.
You may challenge him without it leading to fistacuffs or a duel and it would still be entertaining.
Wayne Madsen does attract a certain segment of the population, he is different.
Why do whistle-blowers sacrifice so much personal liberty for so little in return. . . surely the public would like to know more on this current and timely subject matter.

Yeah, I have another use for the phrase "Santorum Sweep" from the article above. Generally best performed with a wet cloth.

What I wonder is why Piers wishes to interview Rick Santorum now? Is it that hard for Piers to find people to interview, or has Rick been talking about running for POTUS again? I really hope the latter is not the case.

Piers must be on vacation. This sounds like it's probably a bunch of clips from other interviews strung together with a new introduction. I could be wrong. I'm not sure if I find Santorum interesting enough to tune in and see if I'm right. Probably not.

So glad to have the clown car back again in full swing. I really hope that Rick Santorum is the lead GOP candidate for the next two years so we can get as many belly laughs as we got in 2012 from Romney and Ryan and from McCain and Palin in 2008. It only gets richer by the year. Pass the popcorn, Harry.
