As the disturbing situation surrounding the disappearance and presumed abduction of Hannah Anderson continues to pace the United States news cycle, on Friday evening Piers Morgan hosted a live edition of his program, dedicated to supplying the latest details on a case that has now moved into its fourth state.
As the manhunt for James DiMaggio intensifies on the heels of an alleged sighting in Idaho, Andrew Spanswick joined "Piers Morgan Live" for his second live interview in as many days.
A close friend of DiMaggio, who's believed to have not only kidnapped Hannah Anderson but also murdered her mother, Spanswick revealed a recently revealed potential motive for his camping buddy's suddenly odd behavior:
"Jim's father had committed suicide in 1998," explained Friday's guest. "The date that Jim's father disappeared ... prior to his suicide, was actually the date that Jim's house was lit on fire. That's the anniversary date. The date of his father's suicide is tomorrow."
One night since intensely discounting the likelihood of DiMaggio's involvement in the fire, murders, and abduction, on Friday Spanswick shared some news that has caused him to reevaluate his position:
"It's bone-chilling information when I heard it that potentially he's had a plan," said Spanswick, noting that he's encountered similar cases and patients through his work at a treatment center. "They make a suicide pack or plan, that they've hidden from other people. It relates very much to the anniversaries of the traumatic event, and I think that's very much what we're seeing here. There might be a possible link between the anniversary date of his father's disappearance and eventual suicide and the date of the burning of the house and now, hopefully not, but possibly a suicide of his own tomorrow, and to have a countdown like that is just bone-chilling."
Watch the clip for more of Morgan's interview with Spanswick, including the portion in which the guest explains the ways in which his perspective of his friend's potential involvement has shifted in the last 24 hours, and for the next edition of "Piers Morgan Live," watch CNN every night at 9.

How come no one provided an explanation for Ariel Castro's behavior?
Ariel Castro didnt have a friend who is a clinical psychiatrist.
Reblogged this on Bag Lady Boutique.
Well, the suspect looks a lot skinnier and aged in more recent photos, this can be a sign of someone on drugs like meth, or something like that even stronger than pot.
Mr. Morgan's repeated efforts to try and bring the notion of Hanna having gone willingly with Mr. DiMaggio was the hight of irresponsible journalism. I don't know where this theory originated, but in presenting it – repeatedly and doggedly – on air Mr. Morgan showed his true color as a member of the British trash press.
The interview with Andrew Spanswick, and subsequent speculation about some dubious connection with the suicide of Mr. DiMaggio's father, was equally nonsensical, and harkened back to Mr. Morgan's roots in British trash journalism.
I think he may have said it, like other articles that call him an "alleged kidnapper", has to do with the interaction and conversation horseback riders had with Hannah and DiMaggio recently while in the Idaho woods.
With all the misery Hanna has suffered, and will continue to suffer for some time to come, how dare you suggest that this child might have willingly been involved in this horrible event, and especially with no evidence to suggest it? It's horrifying (and yes, irresponsible, Claus) that you would utter a single word to add to this girl's nightmare. We'll hear this opinion from more than one newscaster, and I'll do the same as I did tonight - Change the channel. This is not news; it is speculation and sensationalism at the expense of others. Unforgivable, Pierce.
He says Meth messes with people like violence. Not all Meth people acts that way
