Piers Morgan airs 911 of Georgia bookkeeper convincing gun-wielding man to surrender without incident

On Tuesday, an armed 20-year-old, who admitted to being mentally unstable, opened fire with an assault weapon inside of a Georgia elementary school. Despite a situation which authorities agreed could easily have been the next Sandy Hook, no one was hurt, a reality thanks in large part to Antoinette Tuff.

The bookkeeper at the Ronald E. McNair Discovery Learning Academy just outside Atlanta, Tuff was caught in a room with the shooter – Michael Brandon Hill – and convinced him to surrender all while staying on the phone with authorities.

On Wednesday evening, CNN obtained a copy of the 911 call made by Tuff, and Piers Morgan aired it in its entirety, praising the Georgia woman for her extraordinary courage.

During an exchange that spanned more than 10 minutes, Tuff told Hill she cared about him, that she was proud of him, and even offered to walk out of the building by his side, in a display of loyalty.

Watch the clip above, as the woman being praised as a hero persuades a dangerous gunman to put down his weapons, and lay on the floor, allowing for police to enter the school and contain the situation.

With countless lives saved, and a near certain disaster avoided, Tuff can be heard breathing a well-earned sigh of relief, before admitting to the 911 operator that she had "never been so scared in all the days in my life."

I would just like to say that she is not "Justa" Bookkeeper she is an educator and all educators no matter what role they play in educating our students make a difference in the lives of students everyday. Please show her the respect she has earned by working in education and never refer to her job as Justa bookkeeper she is an educator. And today she is also a hero...

You start the show with the one that shot up the school. Why? If we took ever ones guns this is not the answer to the problem. We need to bring God back in our lives. But we are working so hard to make God not important and making us all that and a bag of chip. This woman acted with God. We need God.

What a remarkable woman Antoinette Tuff is. There's many lives saved because of her steady poise and calm. A story with a positive ending including a mentally unstable person wielding a gun in a school shooting situation.

that woman is truely brave. now many of you will agree with me and piers that we do not need armed men in schools. if there were to be a armed man there there would have been casualties.

When are we going to start securing these schools ??...With well over a 100 million guns in circulation,no amount of gun control will ever make our schools safe from these wacko's...especially when the media keeps giving these psycho's all this attention.Another tragedy is almost certain to happen, and the so called "gun free zones" are the primary targets. This latest wacko just waltzed through the doors of this school and the only thing that probably kept this from being another horrific tragedy was this brave woman who talked down this lunatic. If this country doesn't wise up soon and start securing our schools like they do in Israel and what Bill Clinton first proposed in the 1990's there will more slaughter of the innocent, and the salivating liberal media will continue on with their mindless agenda of worthless gun control propaganda..and BTW the most deadliest school massacre in this country's history was done with explosives...we must act now to secure our schools in anyway we can.

With respect and like everyone else, do not claim to have a solution, wish I did,Before you label me a salivating Liberal, although that made me laugh, had such a graphic image, for the record,I am not.We should all follow the example of that agreed, extraordinary brave woman Antoinette,be calm and show empathy, which in this case was a powerful weapon.I am yet to see or hear any worthwhile debate which always becomes a rageful shouting match, the for and against re.the mention of guns..Our fore fathers wrote the amendment in an ancient time to ward off anarchy, revolt. It saddens me that this proud nation that keeps enemies from it's shores,a population of 300 million,a gun count of illicit and legal 310 million in circulation.A country that people come to get guns. How would you feel if this U.S.A of ours becomes listed as a dangerous place to visit. We the people have lost sight of the true values of sporting guns, living in remote areas alone with a last resort protection weapon. Now I could ramble on,will spare us all including me,do not want to tread on anyones views different to mine, would welcome rational without venom dialogue. We all want the same, safety, lack of fear, especially for the babies entering and the children in our world. All the best, stay safe.J

The 2nd amendment is as valid today as it was the day it was written as is the 1st amendment....The dangerous places to visit in the USA are the large cities where the criminal thugs are doing most of the shootings.with illegal handguns ....We already have laws for this, but criminals and wacko's don't obey laws... Gun control doesn't work period. After Australia's gun ban and forced buy back (confiscation) Australia's violent crime rate has sky rocketed...and that includes gun violence, and their citizens live in terror from violent gangs. The liberal media will try to exploit any story they can,to advance their liberal agenda...and these latest stories has nothing to do with a gun control issue.
