Morgan Spurlock on One Direction: "It's a machine"
Tonight “Piers Morgan Live” welcomed Morgan Spurlock, director of the new One Direction documentary "This is Us," to talk about pop culture and much more.
"There is a tremendous amount of work that goes into being a pop star and a lot of that is visibility," Spurlock explained. "Everything that these guys do in One Direction, every time they say something, do something, it becomes front page news as is happening with Miley Cyrus and that's what keeps this machine going."
Spurlock explained that Miley is in a different category:
"I think Miley is in a different shift because she's having people look at her in a different way. She wants to be beyond being this innocent little teenager and now she wants to be an adult pop star and wants to compete like Rihanna or Lady Gaga and the fact we're talking about it, proves she's accomplishing that."
