READ about Piers Morgan's long career in journalism here.
Tonight at 9, on “Piers Morgan Live,” who else is a better guest to take a seat "In The Chair" other than the creator of “Derek,” Ricky Gervais.
The comedian, Golden Globe winner and "The Office" creator, takes the time to talk business, award ceremonies and most importantly, his twitter following:
“We’re not into rational discussion,” he told Piers Morgan. “Everyone takes everything personally on Twitter. Twitter is like standing at a notice board in the town center and someone comes and puts up a sign ‘Guitar Lessons,’ and they go ‘I don’t want guitar lessons.’ You know, it wasn't to you.”
Then, referencing the “one or two idiots a day” that misconstrue his ironic tweets as serious comments, Gervais continued:
“I think the world is sort of losing its sense of humor, particularly in terms of irony over the last few years. But, Twitter never had it. Irony doesn’t work on Twitter.”
