Jesse Ventura on his chances in a presidential race: "If I can debate them, Piers, I can beat them"
With America's collective confidence in Washington, D.C. seemingly at an all time low as a result of the current government shutdown, on Tuesday evening Piers Morgan invited Jesse Ventura to share his unique and refreshing brand of political perspective.
With a live studio audience hanging on every word, the former professional wrestler once known simply as "The Body" proudly explained why the doing away with traditional parties is the logical step in regaining the country's faith and trust in the voting process.
"Is it feasible in our lifetime that you could have a candidate running for president who was successful who was not a member of the Republican or Democratic Party," asked the "Piers Morgan Live" host.
"I did it. I won the Governorship in Minnesota, and was not a member of the Democrat or the Republican," declared Ventura.
However, is such a political victory realistic on a national scale?
"Sure," said the author of the new book "They Killed Our President: 63 Reasons to Believe There Was a Conspiracy to Assassinate JFK." "If I'm allowed in the debates. But you notice those two parties control the debates? They won't let anyone else in them. If I can debate them, Piers, I can beat them. It's that simple."

Mr. Ventura needs to ease off on the conspiracy theories if he wants a chance at the presidency. He needs to stop talking over people asking him questions: he resorts to speaking ad nauseam instead of actually answering questions. That isn't "winning" a debate, except if you're a 6 year old on the playground.
Otherwise, his isolationist populist message could gain traction. I also agree that a viable 3rd party that is invited to debates and regularly interviewed by the news media would be productive. The media often does much of the campaigning for candidates itself.
Why? Its mostly more than likely true and when he is in office he will prove ALL the crooked ones in D.C. really are crooked and then we can find out what treason obama is doing there with his 6 muslim brotherhood members as well...
From the neck up -at least- you successfully reveal complete ossification. Shrieking, reckless, ignorant hysteria of this type has no place in intelligent discourse. Your diatribe is ineffably, horrifically repellent, and stink in the nostrils of honest discourse.
Ventura is a very forceful, dynamic speaker and many people are swayed by his style even when his substance is lacking or foolish. Clinging to the JFK conspiracy theories is foolish. The fact that some groups were angry at JFK is not evidence that anyone other than Oswald actually killed him. That old men have "confessed" to that and other crimes, such as the Hoffa demise, is also of little merit.

The law should be for ever one congress too. All the DEMS! Why should the ones that past it not want it? Obama don't talk to us talk to the GOP.

Governor, I salute you and would support you all the way! Gooden rob, I have no idea what you just posted? Care to explain properly...? Mr Peebles, if you notice, Piers is actually talking over Jesse and not letting him explain. That is why all these talkshow hoasts get paid, to be agressive and to stir things up, so you (the viewer) can be excited and watch the show again (ratings). Piers has to hold his own, whether or not he lets anyone speak or explain is irrelevant (or he gets canned and labeled as a wuss by his boss). Answers need to be quick and to the point, because of the 11 minute timeframe and the short attention span that people have. Long, meaningful and intelectual debates get boring to the average dumb viewer, that is why they need to make it sharp, short and exciting. Another reason viewers and voters and stupid and uninformed. Get it?
CNN ratings are already dumpster-bound. Low-quality debate -with some exceptions- like this is contributory.
Morgan has hit some lows in quality, coupled with a not media-friendly vocal quality. An office co-worker from hell. Voice lessons perhaps?
Ventura for President! America is on it's knees BEGGING for the end of this corruption! Ventura said on RT's "Breaking the Set" today, that he would only run if Howard Stern runs with him (Financing/Radio platform). I strongly encourage everyone write Stern, and plead for America's future!
I noticed that Ventura does not interrupt and listen attentively to what opponents have to say. What he is speaking is truth and has total sense.
I am truly disgusted by the arrogance of Congress as well as the President. All of which receive timely pay checks. It seems they have no real sense of the damage this shutdown is doing to government employees and our families. How dare they demand that exempted service employees continue to indefinitely report for work while financing commuting and travel costs out of our own pockets without any certain sense of where or when our next pay check is coming from. Family resources are finite and bills such as mortgages, prescriptions, child care, groceries and utilities are all coming dangerously close to being due. What happens when the money runs out and there is still no pay check in sight?
