Reggie Jackson joins Jason Kurtz in the "Green Room," picks Detroit Tigers to win the World Series

Following his candid, and at times entertaining, one-on-one interview with Piers Morgan (airs Friday, 9 p.m.,) Major League Baseball Hall of Famer Reggie Jackson was gracious enough to spend some time in the show’s “Green Room,” offering insight and analysis on the game that dubbed him "Mr. October."

Speaking exclusively with Jason Kurtz, the man who rose to legendary status with an epic three home run performance in game six in the ’77 World Series fielded questions with the same aptitude he showed in leading his teams to 11 pennants, and five world championships, during a magnificent 21 year career.

“From a guy who could change a game with one swing,” Kurtz began, “does good pitching still beat good hitting?”

Jackson felt the inquiry needed a broader analysis:

“Well I think good pitching will slow down good hitting without a doubt,” he said, while maintaining that there are a few modern players that prove exceptions to the rule. “When post-season comes about, [Carlos] Beltran is a guy that I would bet my money on and I don’t think good pitching is going to get Beltran out.”

The St. Louis Cardinals outfielder wasn’t the only Fall standout to earn a mention from "Mr. October," as he even went as far as to name the man he feels is the top batter in baseball:

“[Miguel] Cabrera is the best hitter of our generation right now, and one of the best hitters certainly in baseball in the last 25-30 years.”

It seems Jackson has more reasons than the team's third-baseman to favor the Detroit Tigers, as he unflinchingly offered his championship prediction:

“I am going to bet on Detroit,” revealed the author of the new book "Becoming Mr. October." “I think they have an axe to grind,” referencing the Tiger's two recent World Series defeats, in 2006, and in 2012.

Watch the clip above for the entire breadth of Jackson’s interview with Kurtz, then tune in at 9 as the 14-time All-Star, and two-time World Series MVP, joins "Piers Morgan Live" for an interview that covers everything from the government shutdown to racism in America.

Tonight (October 11, 2013) Mr. Piers you referred to Pres. Obama as our first "black" President when interviewing Reggie Jackson ( who by the way referred to him as "a man of color"). I believe Pres. Obama had a white mother & a black father. ..... wouldn't it be more politically correct to refer to Pres. Obama as our first " biracial" President?

Why hasn't a march on Washington been mentioned by the American people. Why don't people get out on the streets and say enough is enough. The USA is apparently the best country in the world. NOT!
