Donald Trump on unemployment, the stock market, and investments: "We're all getting free money ... I look like a great genius"

With the American economy serving as divisive an issue as any in the country, on Wednesday evening Piers Morgan sits down with a man considered to be a verified expert on economics, business magnate Donald Trump.

Joining the real estate mogul and television personality in his lush Manhattan offices, Morgan asks his guest about the most recent unemployment figures, which are said to be at a five year low.

The man who made "you're fired" a household phrase cautions Morgan about taking the figures at face value:

"Well the real unemployment is 13 to 15, maybe even 16 or 17 percent, because so many people have given up looking for jobs. And as you know, in the new count, they don’t include that," explains Trump. "So you're looking for a job, then you give up, and you're now, you don’t have a job, and they don’t include that. So what kind of unemployment rate is that at seven percent?"

As he switches gears slightly to the stock market, an entity that Morgan describes as "soaring to record heights," Trump agrees that in this specific area, things are improving, especially for those in his distinguished tax bracket:

"We're all getting free money. I'm in the stock market. I was never a stock market person, but about three-and-a-half years ago I said 'I'm going to put a lot of money in the stock market, because it almost has to get up, and go up,' and I look like a great genius," reveals the 67-year-old grandfather. "I've made tremendous investments in the stock market, all because I said a few years ago 'I'm getting free money.'"

Watch the clip as Trump goes on to explain the merits to a friend having recently declared him a genius, and for the full sit down interview with the man who once chose not to fire Piers Morgan, instead choosing to crown him the first-ever winner of "The Celebrity Apprentice," watch CNN at 9 p.m.

Tell Mr. Trump it is not "the men's wife ". She is Dilma Roussef. the Brazilian President who President Obama gives the double kiss. Culturally speaking it is how you say hello to good friends in Brazil. And he is saying he is a " Big Education Person?????? "

Mel I can only agree. I cannot understand why Morgan keep asking the opinion of Donald Chump, the living mental disease on important issues. Shaking the hand of those that have different views could have positive results in the long run and surely kissing a world leader or their wives is a definite positive. As to bowing when shaking hands is so untrue. If you have to bend to reach the hand or show deference isn't such a bad thing, it just may undo some of the ugly American aspect. President Obama is one of the greatest Presidents America has had and could have been much greater if the Koch's john birch society roots and the fellow billionaires had not aligned themselves against all he has tried to do by paying off so many in congress, the supreme court, and local governments while financing 42 grass roots organizations including the tea party. By the way I am a Republican, but not a stupid Republican.

I cannot believe that you let this Trump buffoon make these statements without challenging him. 55 million people have NOT lost their insurance due to Obamacare. You just lost a viewer for good.

The AHC("Obama or rather Obromney care" act) is one of the best things that have happened in America but It still haven't gone far enough yet. When America catch up with the rest of the industrialized world and get those that take so very much out of this country to put some of it back and get the economy running by keeping the money circulating via taxes from the rich and companies that can pay do nothing CEO's millions of dollars just to live well, we all will keep suffering.

Piers, Donald Trump is the worst person to comment on any action of our President. He is so disrespectful, he can not address the President as President Obama. His entire action toward this President has been that of a racist idiot. Sorry, but true.. The nation has witness it, then you have him on tour show. This makes me wonder, What's your angle? Then having comment on business of the government, why not ask Trump, how many times he filed for bankruptcy in this country and whose money did he waste by filing the Bk's?
Please NEVER USE TRUMP when it comes to discussing President Obama. He will never lend a Positive word toward Our Current President Of the United State of America if his life depended on it... Just my two cents.

I totally address with you, Panda. As for Piers Morgan, I have finally concluded who you really are. You are the republican of CNN. Donald Trump has forgotten when he was in bankruptcy; furthermore, he has forgotten who rescued him and back in his feet. This is why we are so far behind in education; we need to accept the minor culturally
differences that so separates us. Instead of using this information to broaden our knowledge, we use it negatively.

The koch's and adelson's plus the organizations they filter racist money through are doing great harm to America and the Chinese, Korean and Muslim worlds are gaining ground to remove America from all aspect of global power and more.

Disappointing to watch you allowing the false statements about AFC and Obama. Guess you have lost your ability to critically think. We have always talked your program up as one of favorites but now we are totally disgusted about your recent witch hunt of AFCA and Obama. Your kids have health care and you have health care. Why don't you have people on who are thrilled to have health care made possible by AFCA. " Just 18% of current private-sector workers are eligible for pre-65 retirees benefits..." This according to Money Magazine, November, 2013 issue. Does Mr. Trump have health benefits for his employees and how good are they if he does. Most of the plans cancelled by AFCA were cancelled because they did not cover basic health needs and had high deductibles, co-pays, denials,
etc. Sorry, Mr. Morgan, but we will be tuning out if you continue your present trend.

Why give Trump a forum? You know he is going to say something negative about President Obama. He just parrots the Fox News lies. To say Obama bowed to Raoul Castro is beyond stupid. Obama is tall and Castro is seated. The only way he could shake Castro's hand is to bend over.

Donald Trump lost all credibility in the fiasco about Pres. Obama's birth certificate. He didn't help Mitt Romney during the campaign, but rather hurt him. His "October Surprise" totally bombed. Additionally, Trump caused Stephen Colbert to make HIM an offer. See if the offer is still on YouTube. Hilarious!

Something has to be wrong with a single person (Trump) repeatedly asking for the President's birth certificate during his 2nd term in office. Now, really, I think, I know the real issues. President Obama has done what others were unable to accomplish. He is an intelligent, intellectual achiever with a well-versed wife by his side which just adds a double dose. I wish President Obama could run another term. Because I admire our First Family and pray God's Bountiful Blessings upon them.

You lose all objectivity when you are with Donald Trump. His answers are predictable and ill founded. Just because he helped you and is wealthy, doesn't make him informed or smart...of which he is neither. President Obama is our president and you should show respect, not denigrate him every chance you get. The Affordable Care act should be admired, not poked fun of every chance you get. Asking Trump his opinion is just looking for someone to back up your feelings. Why not look at the good, instead of always trying to criticize. Your better than that..start acting like it.

I cannot understand why Anyone cares about the Donald's world view. He is totally out of touch with real America and his politics are nothing more than propaganda intent on keeping the masses from obtaining better health, education and lifestyle. He is a caricature of a man who has been plain wrong about what Americans want and need yet he is an expert in keeping money in the hands of the super wealthy and excess living. He is an embarrassment. Why piers panders to this pompous nonsense, is untenable. Is CNN becoming Fox ?

Piers Morgan is losing a lot of respect and credibility. Does the Donald have a new show coming that he needs to get publicity for? He is one of the most disliked, ridiculed, pompous, self-absorbed braggers ever. He exaggerates facts, thinks he knows all the answers and conveniently forgets that he has gone bankrupt several times. He could be the nail in the coffin of Morgan's show. Sure didn't watch this farce of a show.

Piers it's clear by your sycophancy toward Donald Trump that he's sponsored your entrée into the US and any successes you've achieved thus far. However your programming is getting boring – fire yourself up as you do which is better viewing and show us more challenging interviews please.

And here's the big secret behind the new stock market bubble...however, if the info is getting public, it might be that it's just about to burst.
