READ about Piers Morgan's long career in journalism here.
On the heels of Chris Cuomo's fascinating and polarizing interview with Dennis Rodman, on Tuesday evening "Piers Morgan Live" solicits reaction and analysis from John McCain.
In North Korea headlining a basketball game designed to help celebrate the birthday of Kim Jong-un, the former NBA star offered Cuomo a strange and combative rant when pressed about his intentions and the potential political and diplomatic ramifications of his visit.
When asked about the retired Hall of Famer directly, McCain admits to being less than impressed:
"I think he's an idiot," laughs the senior United States Senator from Arizona. "I think he's very - a person - of not great intellect, who doesn't understand that he really does provide propaganda for this very brutal, ruthless young man."
In viewing a clip of the morning's bizarre exchange between Cuomo and Rodman, during which the latter seemingly endorses North Korea's imprisonment of American Kenneth Bae, McCain notes that the situation becomes drastically less comical:
"In one respect, it's kind of a side show with a guy who's not too bright, that's looking for something to do. That kind of part of it can even amuse us," he tells Piers Morgan. "But when we're talking about an American that's being held prisoner in God knows what conditions, and he is basically defending it, that's pretty bad behavior."

That's right John. Rodman is an idiot. And you are ??? Friend, you are living proof that intellectual thresholds do not exist for the US Senate... unfortunately.
apparently the doddering old fool McCain knows plenty about idiots...didn't he try to foist one on the American public as his VP candidate? we have him to thank for the idiot Palin..what does that say for HIS intellect? at least Rodman has the excuse of much less education than McCain..who incidentally ranked 894 in his West Point class of 899..
Question to you Piers – If Snowden is a traitor, what is Dennis Rodman?
Rodman appeared to be under the influence. That certainly didn't help his already questionable intellect or his ability to express himself using "big boy" words.
It is the first time I've had the opportunity to listen to someone reference "one thing" in half a dozen different contexts.
The triple play, an idiot talking to an idiot about a drunken idiot.
Seems to me I've heard of another country that performs heinous acts such as rendition, torture, imprisonment without due process, and secret courts. Oh.. isn't that country the USA?
Pot kettle black, McCain.
What's the difference listening to Rodman rant or John McCain rant! They're both diffidently idiots
If it is true that Dennis went there for money and/or publicity I think he should stay there. The U.S. would be better off without people who fraternize with those who threaten it and what it stands for.
Next to Rodman even Republicans look smart
Yes, Rodman is a idiot but so is John McCain and his warmongering anti everything speeches
Next to Dan and tomj, even Rodman looks smart.
You are absolutely right, T. Williams! They (USA) run around the world telling other people how to live their lives when their own country is riddled with poverty and violence. I was able to travel in DPRK in 2012 and have never felt so safe in a country. I talked to our NK tour guide and he was surprised that we had to pay money to our Gov't (taxes).
You do realize those tours are just propaganda tours...If you actually left the tour and saw cities, towns and villages away from the tourist spots you would have seen plenty of poverty and mass starvation... Here's a contrasting satellite photo of North Korea and South Korea at night...The small lite dot is Pyongyang.
This is coming from a pretentious wanna-be cowboy loser who was all ready to cross into Syrian borders and aid whoever he saw first even though he was aiding and abetting an enemy during war time (he was aiding terrorists. Violation of 14th amendment. He cannot run for public office.)
McCain is a moron. Dennis Rodman looks like he's brainwashed. McCain is simply stupid.
McCain is a heck of a lot more than a moron! McCain is a warmongering bitter old fool, that the Defense & Oil Industries own
Admittedly not eloquent, Rodman's response to Chris Quomos baiting him on CNN were not worthy of an apology. Dennis, in his own way, defended the players, their family's, his noble intent and what is the only communication channel with the republic and directly with their leader.
Quomo should apologize for his inflammatory challenges to Rodman, and his gamesmanship only to create self promotion and an incident.
Not one of you lefties calling John McCain a fool could hold a candle to him. He is a national hero who endured more for his country than any of you can even imagine. Unfortunately your contribution is just vitriolic statements from behind a keyboard.
Don't agree with politician but I can agree with McCain on this one.
He's like a basketball a complete air-head.
Dennis Rodman should be applauded. JM is just mad he's not getting none of that NK money. Rodman broke barriers ,US instead of trying to take over their country try to sit and mingle with the young Lad. And don't give me that dictatorship b.s., JM you've been making dictatorship laws since the civil war.
And to the bone head Chris Cuomo's do you know America have hostages and people that AM keep in prison against their wills everyday without any explanations. Bone head you know WHATEVER country your at you have to obey the law. OBEY the laws of the land, not just America fart face. Sneaky journalism, I'm glad Dennis showed us a good side of NK. Every country has a bad side and a good side, and who are we to tell another country what to do and how to conduct themselves.
I think John McCain himself is an idiot. You just open your mouth and call other person idiot. All the mess he has being doing in senate for years, Rodman never called him idiot.
it's quite brilliant to be an intermediary where there's no diplomatic relations; a missed opportunity for improvement & results..
All McCain ever thinks about is blowing S&*# up. Even if it wasn't basketball diplomacy, anything that doesn't involve brute force is going to be looked down upon.
