As one of the most well-known players on the political stage, former NYC mayor and presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani knows a thing or two about leadership; he’s even written a book on the topic.
So while speaking with Piers Morgan Thursday evening, Giuliani was well equipped to provide some critique on New Jersey Governor Chris Christie’s controversial management of affairs on the other side of the Hudson River.
Christie is widely considered the Republican Party’s strongest contender for president in 2016. The White House race requires a thick skin, but while Christie has been renowned for his tough, no-nonsense attitude, many feel the governor’s recent “bridgegate” scandal may be his undoing.
Giuliani begs to differ:
“I don’t think he’s been fatally damaged,” Giuliani told Morgan of Christie’s political career. “I think he’s been damaged, but I don’t think it’s fatal.”
On the contrary, Giuliani said he believes Christie’s current predicament could actually strengthen the governor’s presidential chances by showcasing his frank leadership skills to the American public.
“Americans ultimately admire that,” Giuliani said.
But Giuliani didn't stop there; the former mayor used the opportunity to take a swipe at Christie’s potential presidential rival, Hillary Clinton, by comparing Christie’s handling of “bridgegate” with Clinton’s handling of Benghazi.
“[Americans] admire when someone takes accountability, takes action, and also opens themselves up for comprehensive questioning.”
Financial expert and budgeting wiz Dave Ramsey has a wide-reaching radio, television, and literary presence that has helped many followers transform their personal finances from dismal to promising. For Chad and Ashley Mask, Ramsey’s influence was totally revolutionary; with Ramsey’s coaching, the couple was able to pay off $142,000 worth of debt in only 29 months.
On Thursday night Piers Morgan was joined by Ramsey and the Masks via teleconference as they thanked the man whose fiscal program changed their lives.
“There’s so much peace that comes along with being out of debt,” Chad said of life – and marriage – post-debt. “We don’t owe anybody anything. We get to keep all the money that we make.”
Ending on a celebratory note, the Masks left Morgan with one of Ramsey’s signature signs of financial triumph: a jubilant cry of “We’re debt free!”
