READ about Piers Morgan's long career in journalism here.
He's the sole member of his country's Olympic delegation and the oldest athlete competing in Sochi. He speaks five languages, designs his own uniforms and has released eight albums. It's these reasons, plus a host of others, that have multiple media outlets calling Hubertus von Hohenlohe the "Most Interesting Athlete" of this year's Winter Olympics.
A 55-year-old slalom skier and Mexico's only athlete, von Hohenlohe has familial ties to the Fiat fortune, and is the grandson of the last Holy Roman emperor. But speaking with Piers Morgan on Wednesday, the man who made his Olympic debut in 1984 made reference to additional, as of yet unconquered ambitions:
"They need to hire me for a PR sort of person," he told Morgan, referring to the host nation. "They got all the construction right and it looks amazing, but they haven't got the message out right, and they did just a couple of mistakes."
For the man known as Prince Hubertus, the Sochi games represent his sixth Olympic experience and though he's never found the medal stand, he has been able to win over fans and critics alike:
"The legacy started that they started to like me, but it took 30 years and a cool suit that they loved me," he laughed, referencing some challenges he faced as an Olympic rookie from a country with a traditionally minimalistic presence in the Winter Olympics.
Known for his elaborate ensembles, von Hohenlohe's Sochi selection is mariachi-inspired. He'd planned to wear for his interview on "Piers Morgan Live", but mother nature didn't cooperate.
"I have it. I didn't wear it because it's so cold and it's so early in the morning here," he revealed to the host, while displaying his jersey for validation.

He asked the athlete about the gossip about news anchor Costas' eye infection. Why???? I laughed my hinny off.
Okay the old Piers is back (after the Janet Mock reprise) – Piers did you see your own demeanour while talking to that gorgeious Cody (the snowmobiler) – why the interrogation? he is a thrill seeker – the way you questioned him, if I didn't hear snowmobile I would've sworn he was riding an AK47 downhill. No news Piers? You can't blame the weather on anyone (oh but you will in the end…), but heck I thought you were starting to show your humanity. Why don't YOU do something thrilling? Not death defying, just something that would quicken the old heart beat. Go climb a vertical gym wall for instance – no?
I loved your interview with Hubertus!! and is true, we (Mexicans) just love him!! who wouldn't? he is so nice, funny, charming and down to earth guy that just happens to be a Prince! ..and he forgot to mention that he really has Mexican blood!! as his Grandmother was half Mexican (daugther of a Mexican well known Minister)
So thank you for this great interview!! and for the laughs :) Greetings from Mexico
This dude is awesome, I would love to have a beer with him. If you don't like this guy, you are just a hater. I am just happy that he is in Sochi representing us.
