Mark Burnett on producing winning television: “I just do things I like to do and that I have a feeling that I'm committed to"

"Survivor", "Celebrity Apprentice", and most recently "The Voice". If it's a top show, with audiences glued to their flat screens singing universal praise, it's likely that Mark Burnett has had a hand it. And it's equally likely that there was a time when doubters far outnumbered dollars.

Burnett was never phased:

“I just do things I like to do and that I have a feeling that I'm committed to. I mean ‘Survivor’, I love. I mean off of my days in the parachute regiment in the army, I loved being in jungles and those kind of environments, so I made ‘Survivor’.”

Burnett’s love for American business yielded "Celebrity Apprentice". And for his latest projects, Burnett called upon his religious beliefs:

“In the case of 'The Bible’ and ‘Son of God', it's that faith and it's something that's really serious to us,” Burnett shares in Wednesday's primetime interview with Pier Morgan.

"Son of God", which tells the tale of Jesus Christ beginning with birth, opens in theaters on Friday, and serves as a family affair in every sense, as Burnett joined forces with his wife, actress and award-winning producer Roma Downey.

The message of the film, says Burnett, is one of belief, strength and acceptance of a higher power:

"The best thing I can say to viewers who are watching this right now, anybody that tells you they've got it all figured out are out of their minds or lying,” says Burnett. “You can only have a little bit figured out and go forward anyway and believe in a faith. It will work out.”

On the heels of "The Bible", Burnett's previous religious production, which raked in ratings despite Hollywood's resistance, "Son of God" sees Burnett returning to the theme of faith. For those that bet against him then, and may be doing so again, there are no hard feelings:

“You know, we're all collegiate and they gave me a pat on the back and said, 'I missed that one. I thought you were out of your mind. I can't believe you had that many viewers'," he tells Morgan.

Mark Burnett – Incredible. But by the grace of God" I live for him and I to can't wait to see "Son of God"...the movie. Its a miracle how you can still feel, "For those that bet against you, and yet may be doing so again, there are no hard feelings" ... gives me hope I too can one day get there. I so value your humility and the truth that if "anybody that tells you they've got it all figured out they're out of their minds or lying. You can only have a little bit figured out and go forward anyway and to believe it in faith". I too dared to believe "It will work out” for indeed its through my personal acceptance of the sacrifice" the son of God" made on Cavalries cross, as my personal redeemer, that "I gain my strength" Best, Mark

If Mark Burnett and his wife are so Godly then why do they NOT offer health insurance to their employees? Shouldn't making the world a better place start in your on house – maybe they should try looking in the mirror on this one.
