Janet Jackson describes her favorite memories with Michael Jackson

In this preview from tonight's revealing "Piers Morgan Tonight" interview of Janet Jackson, the superstar talks about her relationship with her brother, Michael Jackson.

"I feel like it's part of my job as a little sister, to have the back of my brothers and sisters," said Janet, describing Michael as "very sweet, very gentle, incredible smart. Always about love." She also recalls a memory the two shared during their youth.

"Mike and I were very close," Jackson tells Piers Morgan. "We used to go to this restaurant called Love's...and we used to get a ton of dinners and we'd drive around in the car looking for homeless people to give them to."

The full interview airs tonight at 9pmET/PT, and on CNNI tomorrow at 21:00 CET. Check out this excerpt from Jackson's new book "True You" here.

Someone named Mikey sounds like they are hurt from their own situations. Don't blame anyone else for that!

Jan, this is one the reason why they will never be peace in the world. Even in death, Michael still can't have peace. If you don't like yourself, then do something about it!! Don't spread your hatred comments to others just because you're not a happy person! Michael Jackson done more good then bad and we should just honor him for that. Is easy for you to say that because we don't know who you are. But one day, you will find yourself eating your own words when someone say something about you that you will not like. "God don't like ugly people" and i hope you learn one day, words can hurt people.

Hello Leslie, my comments were for someone who was calling themselves Mikey that made a negative comment. It was not toward Michael Jackson. I am a huge fan and would never talk about him like that. They must have removed his comments. Just wanted to let you know that.

The above comments are just hateful comments. You should shut up if you don't know the truth about Michael Jackson. They really speak loud about the individual who made them, not about Jackson. Get a life and leave this great artist alone, dancing and singing around the stars.

Michael was a great singer and dancer. He was very loving, charitable and good natured. He was also a child molester and committed suicide by using very powerful drugs to sleep. He had a family that knew he was doing this yet did nothing to force him to get help or get rid of that crazy doctor that Michael allowed to kill him. It is so sweet that now they the family pays tribute and talk about memories – better that they had done something to prevent what happened.

You believe he was a child molester with no evidence to back it. If you have any interest in finding out the truth so that you can stop spreading lies which only make you look ignorant, you can find tons of legitimate, factual research on the internet to show that your accusation is baseless.

      • Mr. Butters

You believe he commited suicide? Take off your tinfoil hat.The truth is these drugs are powerful, but there is a general idea among the public that hey, it's just a sleep aid. Taking a few extra can't hurt you. The people responsible are the doctors in these situations. They know how strong they are, and they are needed to get the perscription strength medication. At any time they could say no, but they don't want to lose their famous client.

Michael Jackson was NOT a child molester. This is a FACT. Jackson was an easy target for extortionists and would-be extortionists. All those claiming to have witnessed inappropriate behaviour (of course motivated by the desire to make money selling their stories) were thoroughly discredited during the 2005 trial. The trial covered past allegations and left absolutely no stone unturned. The fact that you don't like him or that you are so incredibly gullible does not make him a criminal.

OK Mr Edward, since you know everything about everyone, please explain how you KNOW without a doubt that MJ was a molester. You do not belittle a man who is dead you moron! The man was acquitted in a court of law because the defense was able to prove the charges were facbricated! There is alot of info proving that this poor guy was falsely accused. As long as I live I will continue to defend Michael's honour! Where the hell do you get off spreading lies, are you so hateful that you have to put down someone who is no longer around to defend himself? Go find something constructive to do than spread falsehoods, you evil person!

I guest you're god – You are the only one that can judge someone you don't know nothing about. For all we know, you are the child molester. It's people like you that keep hatred alive today. I tell you this, one day you will see how words can hurt someone when something told isn't true. Course, I don't think you have a heart or a soul.

I will never tire to say this...Michael was, is, will be the most influential and unique person and artist in this world. Edward seems to be hypnotised by the crap the tabloids and those extortionists say about the great Michael. Please why does it really itch you to say something bad(definitely false) about Michael...ask yourself what you'll gain by doing that...can't you just thank God that a great human being like Michael lived and that he has left an unbeatable legacy for us to appreciate and enjoy? and get your facts right, were you there when he allegedly molested those boys...no, so don't say things just because your tiny brain thinks its true. He said it himself, he would slit his wrist before hurting anyone. Michael will be the best forever.

Stephanie,Good commentary on the rvanlutiooery who came to his art in my hometown. Michael Jackson's dancing was certainly radically inventive and inspired many to follow his footsteps. My son, Jonah, could perform a credible moonwalk and joined with several of his grammar school mates to form a break dance group that used to perform in the plaza in Ashland for tips. The lasting effect of Michael Jackson's life will be in the trillion moves that other dancers make when their bodies and spirits demand physical expression. I believe Barbara Ehrenreigh's wonderful book, Dancing in the Streets, tells this story best that we dance publically as an ancient rite (one that has been suppressed for centuries by Puritain disdain), that our ancestors once all danced on the village green and the drumming ground during the midsummer and harvest festivals. Michael Jackson will be mimed forever, which is what has happened to Shakespeare, who was himself himself the absolute master of mimesis. I love to go to Jazz Fest in NOLA to join the people dancing in the streets, just like I love to go to the Shakespeare theatre in Ashland where my eyes and ears set my mind to dancing, so great is this art. Perfect lines of poetry are the same as perfect lines of the body in motion both are prayers in their root.Earl

Although he had nowhere near the talent of Justin Bieber, i agree Michale Jackson had a few fans. It really is a shame he let fame and fortune go to his head. Sadly,vi the end, Michael was an unknown washed up has been living on delusions of past glory. As Michael fades from memory the true tallent of the legendary artist Justin Bieber shines the brightest of any musicicn in known history.

First I would like to say that this game was a lot of fun. I got it yesterday and yepald it for an hour and was sweating so much it was crazy. If you're a MJ fan, then this is the perfect game for you. I danced, I sang, then I danced some more. Interesting enough it wasn't hard to follow the moves from the pictograms or even MJ himself because they depicted his signature moves. I'm totally in love with this game. Now for the bad unlocking training videos, really? Training and warm/up videos should have been a feature that is available to the user before they begin attempting the dance moves and not something that the user gets after he has attempted the dance moves. The next thing that I found annoying was that I had to enter my name each time I completed a song. I should have been assigned a avatar/user at the beginning of the game to eliminate this need. Overall, BIG FUN!!! But, I couldn't in good conscience give this game the full five stars because of the problems with game usability. The realism and fun of the songs and dance moves are a solid 6 stars but the usability is a only worthy of 2 stars. Thus, I'll compromise with a rating of 4 stars.

That's wonderful that you are enjoying Justin Bieber's music and you find his talent so delightful. You know you don't have to put down another artist to celebrate who you enjoy. It's not necessary and it only makes you look bad. Justin is a talent for sure as is Michael Jackson and many other artists that have gone before. Frankly, I'm pretty sure Justin Bieber would find your comment kind of sad.

Why should people be so judgemental of others yet, they also make mistakes like any other man? HONESTLY, Michael was the best in EVERYTHING he did. yes as a human, like me and you...he wasn't perfect, but that doesn't give anyone the right to say false, stupid stuff about others, especially the great Michael. He did his best to bring change through his music, dance, even his loving personality, yet all you just saw you can write is something to make Michael look bad. Ask yourself, is your purpose on earth to discredit innocent people like Michael? Think...because you have never been in Michael's shoes, you don't know what he felt when people said untrue things about him, so you think its normal for you to say such crap and not get hurt. Please give Michael the respect he truly deserves.

Michael didn't pay those people off because he was guilty, he did it because he didn't want to deal with it. Michael was the type of person who shied away from any type of conflict, so he usually ended up solving just about every problem in his life with money and/or drugs (which is why it was the mess it turned out to be)...

Michael Jackson will be remembered for his music; that is undeniable. I think his enemies and his fans both were misunderstood about what kind of person he was. His fans saw no wrong, his enemies saw nothing but money. I didn't know him, but what I "think" about him, is that he was someone who became larger than life. He wasn't a person to the people around him, but nothing more than an opportunity. Janet says that he knows who he was and I would think she would know.

It's funny that the feds had to apologize when it was found out that the "Big bed" that he supposedly slept with kids in, was only there for kids from the hospital who couldn't get out of bed, and needed to be transferred onto it, and needed room for I'vs. He felt ALL kids should be able to visit and come watch movies. Hence the "Movie room" with the big bed. They don't mention that much though.

Presly, if you think MJ was hiding a lack of talent behind outragous costumes and fireworks, then your must be hiding a lack of a brain behind that face of yours. MJ was a kind, gentle, loving spirit who did not deserve the treatment he received in this life. He gave his all to the world, not only with his music and dance, but also with millions of dollars in donations to several charities. People who speak negatively of him only show their ignorance and their lack of compasion. Think about his family and his children for Gods sake and shut your trap! To Mary Derricotte, it is not just the African Americans that loved him. Michael was not in any way, shape or form inspired by race/color. He loved to see all races coming together as one in love and harmony. I am white, and I love him and will keep his memory forever. I hope his family and children can find some peace from the ignorance shown by many, and know that Michael really is loved.

I'm not saying he was guilty or innocent, but both sides, screaming he's innocent, screaming he's guilty. Neither side knows the truth. So remember him how you like, and shut up. He is dead, he doesn't even know this argument is going on, he isn't feeling anything, he isn't earning anything, he is decomposing back into dust. What you should do, is care for the family, they have to live with the loss, and possible knowledge of guild or innocense. Try this on for size, show respect.

Poor Mike, he was so so so talented that words can't describe, so gifted – so damn by us.
When this will end? Think in his children, his fans, his family.

If you don't like MJ's music that is fine. But you CANNOT deny this mans talents and what he did for the music industry. People forget that when Thriller came out, the music industry was essentially dying, and he brought it back. So for all you haters out there, keep in mind what he did for the industry. You don't have to like the Beatles, but you cannot tell me that they did not revolutionize the music scene in the early 60's.

Once again reality takes a hit.... MJ was a good artist and I give him his due. But lets give a hand to the 2nd British invasion and other trends that were arriving/cresting at the time......

Most haters comments are from UK or USA as it was here that the media was most vile to Michael Jackson, and you dont find this level of hate so much from other countries. Upon reserach a great deal of information can be garnered as to a totally different person than was portrayed in the media, including trial transcripts and FBI files that clear Michael Jackson of any wrong doing. Also some incredible details of his humanitarian works.
As for Michael as a legend, that is fact whether people like him or not. He was unique and master of Dance as attributed by great artists from Ballet to Street. His record sales and records of achievements cannot be argued with. HIs influence on todays artists is immense as they will testify. As Beiber once said at an award ceromony "If not for Michael Jackson none of us would be here" and that is true, he influenced people then as he does a younger generation now.
And I would suggest to others, if you are an adult, who make silly little jokes about Bubbles and bones etc., to respectfully grow up. These are 13yr old jokes, classroom jokes, and have worn thin. As for being a drug addict, yes he had problems with presciption drugs at times but then so do a reputed 3 million people in the US alone. The recent autopsy report of Michael Jackson shows no long term drug damage so this assumption is premature and the trial of Dr Murray will provide more evidence one way or the other.
Whether we like Michael Jackson as a person/entertainer or not – he sure must have been something for there is never any shortage or comments, good, insightful, ridiculous, silly or just plain hatred. But at the end of the day he was a human and had a heart and leaves 3 little children so I would ask posters to think about that sometimes before they post vile remarks about anyone. It always says more about you than your intended target!!

It is funny, how people try to compare Justin Bieber or Lady Gaga to Michael Jackson. These two still have a long way to go and music business is hard. They can just as fast be gone than they showed up. If anybody, i compare Michael to people like Elton John or Bon Jovi, who have been in business for centuries. They can be called legend, not beginners like Bieber.

Just remember then, God don't for us to judge people and when you face him ( i serious doubt that) you will have to explain to him , how do you know he's a pervert? Unless you saw him do something with your own eyes, you really can't say anything bad about him. But what....if you're a coward...then you can say all you want cause nobody will know who you really are.

These comments are interesting. People are defending Jackson as if he was of their own flesh and blood. He had his time and some good music. But when it comes to MJ's private life you have to be naive not see how messed up he was. His parents have allot to do with this as well as the idiosyncrasies brought on by fame money etc... .Yet MJ is responsible for his actions, if not now than in his future life.

I remember watching him on the old Jackson 5 / MJ cartoon. Gosh I liked it and The Fat Albert Show. Michael brought a tremendous amount of happiness to a-lot of people. He is and always will be missed. And by the way young folks – NO ONE TODAY comes anywhere close to The Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis, or Michael Jackson. Nope. Sorry.

I can appreciate everyone being very defensive of MJ's legacy. There is no denying MJ was a remarkable talent, but also a troubled youth. Since his accident on the set of a Pepsi commercial, MJ hasn't quite been the same. He became an addict to pain medications, which later became sleep aids. Once addicted, these medications blurred his reality. Doctors, Family and Friends rather than helping him and making him get some kind of rehab, perpetuated it and kept feeding him drugs as long as he kept feeding them hits. His inability to determine right from wrong made him a target because he preferred the company of children at the age of 30+ rather than those of his own age. Once again, no doctors, family or friends would/could help him. MJ is a victim of his own fame and talents. Everyone wanted a piece of his wealth and talent, and stopped at nothing to get it. Now, he's gone for those very reasons. Perhaps it's for the best, as much as millions suffer the loss...at least MJ isn't struggling with his life.
Call him what you will, but he was an Entertainer, the rest is simply none of our business.

I am an African American and proud to be one. I and most KNOW MJ was nothing but a publicity and media driven hack. Surrounded by backup singers, performers, fireworks, etc., he became nothing more than a silly circus act. He started out ok but many believe his nuuut joob family drove him craaazy. From having a pet moonkey to sleeping under a pyramid statue thing, this guy became mighty wiierd.

Did Michael steal any money from you or do you anything bad so that you say this trashy, false things you got from the media?? You know, MJ was one of the most talented artists of my lifetime...I wasn't born when Elvis walked the earth, or when Jimmy Dean rode his motorcycle, but I was alive to see one of the most amazing talents of the 20th and 21st (so far, lol) century dance across the stage like the wind blew beneath his feet. He was truly amazing...just like everyone else, he had his demons and had to deal with those, but that doesn't mean that you can't seperate the dancing/music from his personal life. I certainly did and can appreciate him more because of that. Stop trolling folks, its uncouth.

I am sorry for your loss. We recently had an employee who could not bury her father without out help. We raised over $1,300 for our friend and colleague. We provide foster-care and mental healh services for many children in dire need. Our city has cut 40% out of the foster care budget in the last year. Please help our struggling kids. We need help from care-giving celebrities. Janet, please contact me directly through my email and help us help them. I am directly involved in an administrative role, but care deeply. These children need help and our local government will not give us the resources. They prefer to build dog walks and other eminities for the high-tax-paying neighbohoods. It is really sad. Thank you for your consideration. You live such a blessed life and your sharing and caring nature is much appreciated. We love your family and, again, mourn your loss.

Janet, it is not weird or strange that you feel uncomfortable in intimate situations, as that's what they are, intimate.

When you are on stage performing for loads of people, it is much less intimate. They are not looking into your soul, but instead watching and taking-in only your performance.

Same as people staring at you. When performing and focused on the show, with hundreds of people, it is not the same, as someone sitting across the table from you.

    It's normal.

Thank you for the interview. God speed and many blessings.

It really saddens me to see so many fans of Michael, while trying to defend his name, committing the very same injustice that he had to endure. Two wrongs do not a right make. Someone posts a comment or opinion that runs contrary to your cause and you slaughter them unmercifully. The same holds true for Murray. You have pre-judged him before all the facts have been heard. You just might be in for a shock. Many of the comments here are clearly baited to get a rise out of you and you fall for it. Do you really believe that Michael, the one who had more love in his heart than all the universe could hold, the one who always took the high road, the one who judged no one, the one who accepted everyone for who they were and not the color of their skin, would behave this same way? I sure hope not! I'm not judging you here either. I'm just asking you to holster your anger and channel it into something more positive. Love is stronger than evil. Try showering and overwhelming your enemies with it so they have no other choice but to embrace it. They obviously have none in their lives or they wouldn't post what they do. It's love that the world lacks and yearns for the most. Hate is a cry for lack of love. Please, give it to them! You have it within you, I can see it. But it's not to be hoarded, it's to be given freely or it dies. Learn to ignore the ignorance and embrace it as an opportunity to replace it with love. Please? Do it for Michael. For me. For you. For the world. Thank you.

Now the media is letting Charlie Sheen and Lindsay Lohan have all the spotlight and yet these are two people who are WASTING their lives and fortunes just for PARTYING. Michael J. just wanted to sleep and get relief from pain and yet they brand him an addict and put him in the same box with losers like Sheen, Lohan, Anna Nicole - even Elvis! This is so unfair. I really hope justice prevails in court Because Dr. MURDER is guilty as sin, but nothing will bring Michael back to us, unless he's faking, which I hope he is, but I guess he's not. Still, there are so many thousands of people, esp. in the USA, who are addicted to RECREATIONAL drugs BY CHOICE and never had the pressures that Michael had to face. Why is he so reviled? People need to just leave Michael alone and RESPECT his legacy and his entire family! R.I.P., sweet baby MJ. You were VERY strong and ENDURED punishment for as long as you could.

Aauuuw Janet! That's so sweet of you and Michael... they really do have kind, compassionate hearts. @Joe Peterson
You say that we are naive? huh? Well, newsflash! You are. Clearly you ain't a fan of Michael, but leave our love for him alone. I'm opretty sure there's an artist you revere sooo much, and you'd be defensive (as I am when it comes to Michael). So, look, he wasn't weid, wasn't a shadow of his own fame... the problem comes in with some of the people around him. they focused on their personal interests, rather than Michael's... yes he wasn't perfect, as you and me and everyone in this world, but making him out to be a weirdo or some very tragic person... naaaauww, not cool. Not cool.

And whether you like it or not, he is definitely one of the best musical acts of all time (solo musical acts-together with Elvis, Madonna.. etc- if ! may add, not like the Beatles) So this goes to all the other naysayers that says he was a circus freak (not nice) or he was just... nothing... he is even in the Guiness Book as 'the most successful entertainer of all time) He has influenced maaany guys (you can say almost everyone) either in a big or small way, like Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Janet, Beyonce, Justin Timbelake, Chris brown, Britney Spears, Kanye West, 50 Cent etc...

And also you wanna know why I defend and love him so much? Because he loved his fans so much, and his music speaks much more than anyone else's.

Well, to be honest, i was always kind of addicted to video games. However, during the pandemic i started to play way too much. I mean it was like more than 12 hours a day. I was playing literally everything. Call of Duty Warzone, Assassin's Creed Odyssey, Red Dead Redemption, Forza Horizon, The Crew 2, everything. I also played a lot of CS: GO. So i decided to stop, i thought it is just exaggerated already. However, i couldn't even expect that such a simple game as among us will bring my addiction back. I mean, i even got hacks from https://linktr.ee/among.us.hack.pc, so i get every skin in this game. Just do not understand why i like it so much.

I'm not very web smart so I'm not 100 certain. Any recommendations or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I'm really enjoying the design and layout of your site. It's a very easy on the eyes which makes it much more pleasant for me to come here and visit more often. Did you hire out a designer to create your theme? Exceptional work!

You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this matter to be really something that I think I would never understand. It seems too complicated and extremely broad for me. I'm looking forward for your next post, I抣l try to get the hang of it!

know a few of the pictures aren't loading properly.

I'm not sure why but I think its a linking issue.
I've tried it in two different internet browsers and both show the same outcome.

Throughout the awesome design of things you'll secure an A with regard to effort and hard work. Where exactly you actually misplaced me personally ended up being in all the particulars. As people say, the devil is in the details... And that couldn't be much more accurate in this article. Having said that, permit me say to you what did do the job. Your article (parts of it) is definitely rather persuasive and this is possibly the reason why I am taking an effort to opine. I do not make it a regular habit of doing that. Next, while I can notice a jumps in reasoning you come up with, I am not really certain of exactly how you seem to connect the details which in turn make your final result. For now I will subscribe to your position however trust in the near future you link your facts much better.

I've been surfing online more than 3 hours today, yet I never found any interesting article like yours. It is pretty worth enough for me. In my opinion, if all site owners and bloggers made good content as you did, the internet will be a lot more useful than ever before.
