With less than 10 minutes to go before "Piers Morgan Tonight" went live on the air, Charlie Sheen still had not arrived at the CNN LA bureau last night (here's some backstory). But his car pulled up, out came his friend Tony Todd and assistants Rick Calamaro and Stacey, and just a few minutes later he was on the air talking to Piers Morgan.

(Another behind-the-scenes nugget – CNN correspondent Nic Robertson was slated to contribute his excellent uprising reporting on last night's program if Sheen wasn't on, but instead, after Sheen had arrived, he asked if he could keep the line open to listen to the show. A little levity in a tense situation...)
