President Hosni Mubarak has left power in Egypt – was Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "sad to see him go" asked Piers Morgan in an exclusive interview, airing tonight at 9pmET/PT. "I was concerned that we might have the opposite of what people want and what we all want. We want to see a democratic reformed Egypt," Netanyahu said. "I called him once. He didn’t return my call. He was otherwise engaged. But I can appreciate that fact that Egypt was at peace."

That's the question every thinking American should be asking. As reported by Ma'ariv, Haa'retz and Reuter Mr. Netanyahu while addressing Bar Ilan University in April of 2008 had this to say about 9/11 attacks
' 9/11 has been very good for Israel'.'We are benefitting from attacks on Twin Towers and Pentagon and America struggling in Iraq'.
He also made remarks to the effect that he has defrauded America on the Peace Process & that America is a thing easily moved around. In a private conversation as reported by Haa'retz.
My guess is you've taken it out of context. Netanyahu is a reasonable man and based on what we've seen and heard from his leadership it's just unlikely. More likely, what he meant was that it is good for Israel that the rest of the world sees what kind of terrorists Israel must contend with.
I have just listened to part of this interview–I am appauled! Are you for real Piers? give up more land? not build on their OWN land–a land that God gave them? this is absurbed!! Good interview. Very David Frost like. Excellent approach in making the point that Netanyahu must be a "first mover" if Israel truely wants peace in the Middle East. You reminded him "he is on the clock" and his "second chance" to make a true difference to Israel and the world is slipping through his fingers with each passing day.
Piers constantly tried to bait him with vanity about a legacy. Benjamin didn't bite. He knows that it is not about him but his nation. Israel has been the first mover since the beginning. Who can negotiate with someone who doesn't recognize your right to exist. Israel is willing to trade land for a compliment "please accept my existence" and the Palestinians don't want to play. Peace will come when the Palestinians are ready...its not about Israel.
I was very impressed with Mr. Morgans interview of Netanyahu. Instead of letting Netanyahu drone on and on evading direct answers to the questions, Piers kept yanking the guy back to the point and was not a bit tentative about asking the hard questions.

There have been no new settlements built since 1996. Any building that takes place is an extra house, or extra floor to an existing house in an existing Jewish village. The Palestinians are also building up their own villages in the same way.
It is disputed territory, so until both sides reach an agreement, neighborhoods should be able to grow with the population as long as no harm is done to others.
How can there be a dispute? The land was given to them by GOD ALMIGHTY

This was one of the worst interviews that I have ever heard. Piers is so rude. He doesn't even here what the PM says because he is thinking of his next question. Who ever told this man that he can interview. I'm telling you now that he can't. The PM is our friend. If our country ever turns our back on Israel, we will be doomed. Should Netanyahu be the "bigger man" as you ask? Does being the bigger man mean being willing to place his citizens in even greater danger than they live in every day. I am not shocked to watch Piers Morgan and other media against Israel. It seems that this is part of the History of the Jewish people where everything is blamed on the Jews (refer to the Holocaust).
When the Jews from a settlement were taken by force by the Israel army, giving up their home in order to work for the peace process between Palestians and Israel, what did the Palestinias do with that land they got? Besides destruction, they did NOTHING. They built nothing. Palestinians like to play the poor guys, but they do not hesitate to send terrorists to kill the Jewish people either by cutting the throats of infants and children or by exploding themselves in busy streets and killing thousands of people. If this happened in the U.S. or anywhere in Europe, I bet the media, Americans and the international community would have a different view.
Good point, Carla. Israel did this type of peace initiative twice now, to no avail. They want Israel to do it a third time. It's a good bargaining point for future negotiations, though... The PM stated that they are ready to sit down with their foes at any time. They have asked for one simple statement from Hamas and others in the region: The State of Israel has the right to exist. II agree with you that these days there are some journalists out there like the one you gave as an example, who doesn't know how to listen and keeps interrupting their guests. Unfortunately, we have become the generation of solely speakers who lack to listen. I think they should have some kind of training for journalists so they can maybe re-learn the skills needed to become active listener when they do interviews. If only we know wisdom also comes from listening to others attentively even if they have different world views from us.

The camps are all in the neighboring Arab countries and the only reason there still are Palestinian refugee camps is because their Arab brethren keep them there!!! Why weren't they immediately welcomed into the countries to which they fled and integrated into those societies? What about Arab brotherhood? They all talk about Palestinian rights, but don't help the Palestinians in any manner, shape or form except to keep them as pawns in their games against Israel. I found the interview with PM Netanyahu very informative and would have found the conversation easier to follow had the interviewer not constantly interrupted him. I find the manner, not tough journalism as intended, but rather just bad manners.
CNN does provide an excellent platform for the dissemination of information and the inherent dialogue, however this does not negate the consideration for good manners and respect for those that understand without being told their role in world events.
Fascinating yet disturbing change of demeanor by Piers, who gave free range to Charlie Sheen, and then cut off Netanyahu ALL the freakin time. Piers had all the classic left wing intelligentsia anti-Israel talking points, and when Netanyahu made excellent points (such as how difficult it is to negotiate with government leaders who call for your complete annihilation) Piers just moved right along without acknowledging the crucial point Netanyahu was trying to make! This could have been a truly fascinating interview if Piers had bothered to respond to Netanyahu and hadn't just barreled through with his talking points. We might have been able to learn more, but I suspect that wasn't Piers' goal.....Netanyahu is obviously a very smart man and it's too bad Piers wouldn't take the time to have a genuine dialogue with him.
This is my first experience with Piers Morgan, and I think he must live on another planet. Israel has done everything humanly possible to accommodate peace in the Middle East. I commend Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for his efforts. He is a hero in my eyes as he has tried so hard and has been met with hostility and hatred. My point was that dialogue or negotiation with a party that does NOT believe in your existence is fruitless. Mr. Netaniyahu was indeed saying more dialogue is needed PROVIDED the other side first recognizes Israel's right to exist. Maybe *I* should go back to the interview and listen again because I don't recall the PM asking for the acknowledgment of Israel's right to exist as a PRE-REQUISIT to dialog. I remember him saying that it would be one of the concession they *would* have to make, as part of dealing an agreement. I heard him say is that the 2 parties involved should get together in a closed room and come out only when they reach a treaty. That’s dialog.
As far as Obama is concerned, I’ll take his approach to diplomacy any day of the year, over the right’s idea of diplomacy, which usually involves the idea of using forced diplomacy.

Couldn't agree with you more. The PM must have been thinking "who the hell does he think he's talking to, some clueless moron who new to the area?". It's clear that Mr. Netanyahu is a smart man. He may be on the right (and therefore, on the opposite side of where I usually stand), but he's still clearly a thoughtful man. About the interview with the Prime Minister of Israel, first of all Israel has done nothing, I mean nothing to hurt this world. As a matter of fact look at your technology now a days, most of it comes from Israel, your medical breakthroughs have come from Israel, to Paul the Holucost did happen whether Neo Nazis like you believe it or not. Despite what many who were rattled by Morgan's style have written, his target was neither Israel nor the PM. It was learning more about how to get the peace process moving forward.
The most interesting questions focused on Israel's increasingly precarious position of being a nation that most of world opinion condemns. Whether you believe such views are justified or not, we have seen in recent weeks in the events throughout the Middle East just how powerful a force world opinion has become in the era of instantaneous global communication.
In essence, Piers asked Netanyahu, isn't the Israeli position becoming more untenable and what are you going to do about it? Just doing what you've done in the past doesn't seem to work.
Regarding the March 17th interview with Benjamin Netanyahu... Piers Morgan was EXTREMELY RUDE and continually interrupted his guest! Unlike Piers, Mr. Netanyahu was gracious and polite. The interview was BRILLIANT. He asked the hard questions most journalist are too scared to ask because of his commitment to the truth (even if it is our special friend). If Piers seems to have interupted Netanyahu, it is only because Netanyahu went off on intentionally elusive tangents and Piers did not want to waste any more time. I think Piers may be redefining the CNN brand by setting the standard for no-nonsense.

Piers Morgan is the absolute worst as an interviewer. This has been the case since day one when he started with Oprah Winfrey. I truly hope CNN did not offer this man a long term contract. The complaints made here tonight regarding his style (or lack thereof) have been ongoing since he began. Considering his background is in tabloid journalism (of which he was fired) I was surprised when CNN offered him the job. Obviously no one monitors these boards or surely this would have been addressed to Piers by now. We watch to hear what the interviewee has to say. I personally could not possibly care what Piers' opinion is on anything.
Can Piers Morgan ever let a guest he is interviewing finish a sentence? This has happened with almost every guest he interviews. I was waiting for this interview for the whole week and I was so disappointed by Pier's lack of interview skills. Pier kept on interrupting Natanyhu. It was so irritating and at times I felt Pier is acting as a bully. At the same time I appreciated Natenyahu's patience and responses. I would like to have heard what Netanyahu had to say but Piers continually interupted. If he had allowed a complete answer, he might not have had to ask the same questions over and over. Piers, it is possible to ask probing, piercing, penetrating questions and still be objective, respectful, and professional. By cadence and tone your questions made your own political beliefs transparent and a constant interrupting and "cutting off" of the Prime Minister, hard to watch. In part your questions seemed to lack historical perspective or
a measured approach. You may wish to look at the Barbara Walter's interviews with Sadat and Castro, astonishing in their depth yet unfailingly respectful.
Piers Morgan, I understand you are a capable and well respected journalist. You are good at what you do, and exhibits a great amount of passion. This is wonderful. Please remember you are conducting an interview NOT an interrogation. It is better if you allow your "guest" to finish his statement before you ask another question, or make your own statement.
I am not taking a political position, but I would say Prime Minister Netanyahu has addressed your statements well. I say statements because many sentences you said were based on your own opinion and said with a "position" of authority. Interviews are conducted to ask and answer questions, to find out the truth to questions/issues. Interviews are not to confirm or disconfirm one's own beliefs/opinions. Also, one can only have authority when one has extensive knowledge and/or experience in that issue/area.
I believe that one can get true answers, can get others to truthfully answer or reveal their intentions while speaking to them respectfully.
