Clips from Last Night: Michael Moore on bin Laden's death, republican party focus

Michael Moore joined Piers Morgan on "Piers Morgan Tonight" for the hour last night to talk Osama, Obama, and other national issues. Piers dove into the issue at hand: the death of Osama bin Laden and what it means for America. "I'm pleased that he'll no longer be around to do any harm to anybody," Moore said. "The world's a better place without him."

While Moore says "it's not necessarily the way" he would have done it he is hopeful. "It gives this country a great opportunity to begin a new era."

Piers switched topics to focus on domestic issues including politics. "The republicans were trying to shut down the federal government while President Obama was trying to get Osama bin Laden," Moore said. "I hope that people do not forget that next year."

We did not need to take Osama alive. I think that would present more legal issues.

Osama produced a video, all news outlets aired it, he said" I Osama planned and executed the plan to bomb the twin towers in New York, and many other crimes. This statement is his testimony of gilt.

We did not need a trial to hear him say this again. Unlike other criminal trials where we did not have an admission of guilt.

The kill order the seals operated under was important.
I think if one seal had been killed trying to take Osama alive that would have been one to many.

Please notice: only those attaching seals were killed or wounded, many were just cuffed and protected from the process.

I also think, US is not yelling loud enough. Osama killed thousands more Muslims. We are so sorry for there pain and hope this gives them some justice.

President Obama provided Osama with a speedy Muslim burial out of respect for the 1 Billion Muslims around the world.

I am so proud of President Obama for taking this aggressive action and not considering political consequences, but getting the job done.

I truly think Michael Moore is just not considering all the facts. We had a video statement. If we had this on Hitler before millions of executions and war dead and injured, the best action would have been get rid of him.

Michael we do have to take these people at their word. He said ,on video I am going to kill more, more more. A serial mass murderer.

Please support our President he gets enough crap from crazies, and you are feeding them.

    I appreciate Michael Moore.

Nancy, you are a complete and total airhead . The whole bloody reason that they didn't take him aliveif they took him at all is that it was CYA time(cover my ass time) how could they have taken him alive and to the Hague for trial when there's still been no tangible definitive proof that he and the Al Kaeda were behind and responsible for 9 -11 and proof as what really toppled the World Trade Centre buildings and the mysterious Building 7 which apparently contained files etc from the CIA. Look for the benefit of those who need a realty check. There is absolutely no proof that US Forces Killed Bin Laden all we've seen so far is the American Propaganda machine at work that is all.. If you look back at the history of American Politics and Propaganda for example, Viet Nam, Watergate, The Kennedy assassination, The scandal with Teddy Kennedy,The Reagan Administration, WMD and Sadam and on and on, suffice it to say their (USA) track record for truthfulness and Transparency is shall we say questionable? Lets deal with the facts and the knowns. This story has changed 4 times. There's a ton of discrepancies , inconsistencies, and holes in every version, nothing adds up and it's getting more stupid by the minute.. Here's the reality, if they in fact did get him, then he's worth a hell of a lot more to them alive, and if you're not smart enough to figure that out then don't even waste your time trying to figure it out. If they got him, then for sure they would've taken him to the "not so secret" anymore CIA Base in Turkey and held him there. By the way, one of the "so called" Navy Seals slipped up during an interview by alluding to the fact that it was in fact DeltaForce that took out Bin Laden and not the Navy Seals, so which was it?. Here's another fact for those who are not so informed. It's an accepted fact of statement that Osama Bin Laden was on the CIA's payroll as an operative during the Afghan – Russian conflict, and he and his extended family who currently live in the USA have very close ties and relations with the Bushes and that is no conspiracy theory either. Look, this is just another blatant example of American Propaganda bull-crap created and designed for their own purposes and means. The CIA is in the business of lying that is who they and what they do,and in the interest of National Security, Homeland Security, NSA,KIFP to expect any less from them would be totally asinine. The CIA is alot bigger and has far reaching influences more than you or I would or could ever know, trust me on that. So don't be expecting a body because there isn't one. Is there absolute tangible proof that Sadam is dead? Nooo, we saw someone who looked like him,but those who actually saw Sadam hang, who are they and are they going to talk of course not. Who are the whistleblowers gonna be? Do you think the CIA hasn't taken absolutely every precaution to weed out and silence any and all these people and most likely permanently? I'm sorry but Americans can be so stupid and naive, and if you want an example of that just look at all the white collar crime that's taken place in the last couple years with Wall Street,Goldmen Sachs, Bank of America and all the rest of them. By the way for the benefit of you Americans reading this, so you trust your President do you? Well you might want to remember the dirt they found on him with Acorn. Was Acorn ever brought to trial and prosecuted? Noo, we never heard anything else. Look, we all need to get a bloody reality check here, look at the mess the USA is in, they're fighting wars that they can't even fiance, innocent young men and women are losing their lives all in the name of Democracy? Come on... that is bull-crap.. If you want to get the straight goods on the history, politics of the US then check out one the most respectable authorities on it -Noam Chomsky – Professor of Linguistics at M.I.T. Believe me the United States has a lot of blood on their hands and a lot of explaining to do.. One more final thought, even if there's a remote chance that the did in fact kill Bin Laden, they will eventually replace him with someone else Bin Laden's death would've only been for revenge and that's it. Ask yourself this: How has Bin Laden's death helped our so called cause over there and served any purpose? It hasn't, will it bring our boys home and sooner than later no it won't, it will escalate the war, cost more lives and there could be further attacks against the US and possibly other countries, it will also have an ongoing negative effect on the economy. So why the hell are the uneducated fools in the good ole USA celebrating? What the hell is there to celebrate? Thanks for listening

By the way Piers I hope you get this.. I had a lot of respect for Michael Moore up until last night when I heard him speaking on your show. Removing all of the "umm's and ah's" in his replies to you, It was quite evident that this individual cannot articulate himself very well and is obviously not entirely and completely the brains behind his movies. He basically said a lot but didn't really say much and did not effectively answer your questions or the question about Opec and China, if anything he completely evaded the question, digressed and went off on a tangent. Unfortunately Michael Moore was just a babbling brook and spewed alot of nothing about American patriotism and didn't offer if any intelligent responses. I really like Michael Moore as a person and respect him immensely, I just felt he was not in his league with Piers. Thanks!!

Michael, You may have missed this that I posted to you. You'r wrong on the WMD that was not propaganda:

'You'r wrong when you say that there were not WMD in Iraq. I personally remember watching satellite footage during Clinton's administration where you could see the UN inspectors going in one side of a building and tractor trailer trucks were leaving on the other side! It was always a sore spot with Sadaam that he wanted notice of when the inspectors were going to show up.

I remember our troops finding I think it was three tractor trialers buried in the desert, that could be converted into labs that could produce WMD. If those tractor trailers were so harmless, why bury them?

There were WMD and there was also a lot of desert to bury them in!'

Bonnie in Texas – another one educated on Planet Dunce, who believes everything she reads and see's on TV, my God America is in real trouble if these people represent the majority of the population... You really need to get informed Bonnie and get you head out of the comic books. In fact, it is an established fact that no Weapons of Mass Destruction were ever found it has never been officially proven, most of what the American Government says has never been "officially" proven, and it was a huge blight against George Bush Jr and the Bush Administration, I could give you the whole history of WMD right here but you can look it up yourself but keep in mind you'll never get to the truth bottom of the whole thing, because you, and I ( the masses)are not meant to. Besides, I only have access to the same information or should I say "dis-information" that you haver access to. The difference is I read and observe absolutely everything and stay completely informed. You should become a little more informed and do your home work.

2.) we had to get there first and get rid of them before another ally stumbled upon them and blew our ass in.
3.) we took all the money from the banks of Iraq to finance this war... just dont tell anyone....

It is tragic that the American people are so naive and will believe anything they are told without question.....I guess the name 'sheeple' applies very well. But to be honest, this isn't just an American problem, it's on a global scale and something that is going on to change the face of the whole world.....New World Order speaks volumes!!

@Michael. Ok, you are fuming at the mouth. You are from Canada and you are fuming at the mouth. How many troops does Canada have in Afghanistan exactly? There were WMD in Iraq just not on the scale that everyone was lead to believe. He used them on the Kurds and his own people. that is a fact. Surprised you didnt know that. And by now, you know OBL has been killed. His own organization said so. Fact. You are a conspiracy theory nut job. BUT America will ensure Canada has that freedom, God knows you can talk but probably cant defend your own borders!! When ALQ attacks toronto then we'll see how you handle that. You are so angry and vile, calling people gerbils, really? Is that the extend of your Canadian education? Wow, good thing America doesnt think Canada is a threat, we'd be in a real mess going to war with you guys eh. Dont worry, terrorist wont attack Canada, why, what for? You are like France in the 1940's, throw down your weapons and put your hands in the air. OBL was a target and a high value target at that. The message is keep attacking the US and we'll hunt you AND your organization down and kill you. You wanna talk peace, have a dialogue, then start talking. You attack us, then go run and hide, because we are Americans, WE WILL COME FOR YOU!! I dont agree with people dancing in the streets, celebrating his death but you know what michael, in America, people have the freedom to choose. That is what it means to be American but you should know that already since you study our history. And since you are such a good student, then you know, "America loves a winner and wont tolerate a loser". Terrorist have been attacking America for years, long before Sept 11. go research that. they didnt stop and guess what.... THEY ARE NOT GOING TO STOP!!! SURPRISE!!!! This is a fight about ideaology (sp). Their beliefs vs our beliefs and way of life. Get a grip Michael. What do you think is going to happen if they (terrorist) get past us, they are gonna give Canada a break because you cant defend yourself? OBL believed that planet earth would be a muslim planet, go read their 100 year plan or whatever they called it. It showed a map of the world and all countries were muslim. Get on your knees Michael and start learning arabic, sounds like you are ready to bend over and accept your fate. Go right ahead. As for America, we'll fight. You would "rather live on your knees than die on your feet", me, I'd rather fight for my life than live on my knees. Go educate yourself some more and try not to embarrass yourself or Canada.

I was stuck in a hotel room in Atlanta last week and had the misfortune to run across your interview with Michael Moore. Would someone PLEASE explain to me why ANYTHING that tihs man has to say is relevant? I really don't get it. Is he a major stockholder in CNN? Are you contractually obligated to trot him out once per quarter? He has been spewing the same vitriol for over a decade. Each year, it's just a different target. Surely, you can find more accomplished, professional and eloquent guests. The problem is that many people cannot understand, is that the reason Michael Moore has a point is that you need to follow principals that provides checks and balances so that in the future you are not the one getting assassinated by an authoritarian government. Just think about it. This is very basic and logic. If Osama was unarmed, he could have been caught, judged and then executed exactly like Saddam was. Michael Mooore is right that only barbarians celebrate openly on the streets on someone's death, even if the individual was monster.

Obama took a very, very high political risk. If those SEALS were intercepted they would have been destroyed the Pakistani airforce. In addition, they could have easily planted explosives in the building that could denoated our SEALS altogether. I am glad that Bin Laden was eliminated, but I do not necessarily praise Obama for the move. No way. I think more people will think about it less enthusiastic they will be with that decision.

Michael Moore, you are a disgusting wast of a human being. It is pompous, whining, bloated people like you that look in the mirror every day and see their own failures as men. You sit safely removed on your gluttonous throne every day and take full advantage of the very freedoms that these so called "Executioners" die for. They fight to defend your freedom to mock and condemn them, because it is your right to speak freely. It is your right as an American citizen to question their motives and tactics against the very beast that sought to take those rights and freedoms from you nine years and two hundred thirty five days ago. Mr. Moore, if you are so ashamed of our actions as a Nation then you are free to leave.

Why do news outlets keep talking to this fool? He flip-flops to whatever serves his purpose at that moment. To think that Obama started the hunt for Osama from scratch isn't just absurd but juvenile. Believe it or not Mr. Moore there were hundreds if not thousands of Nazi war criminals that were executed on site. There was a quick military tribunal and then the rope or firing squad. Nuremberg was for high ranking uniformed military officers or members of the government. Not illegal combatants.

People like the romance and captivating power of America.
Because unlike any other country in the world, it’s a fairytale based on strong unyielding ideologies.
One of them being “We Americans are number one; the gate keepers of the world”

But when all stinks like manure, Michael Moore, seem to always find himself at the right place and at the right time turning the fan on and spreading the news. Making America in a sense “more real, tangible, and deserving of the America’s “Go getter's spirit.” Michael Moore is an outsider for a reason, and that’s where he will always be if you ask me.

It was interesting to hear Michael Moore's comments, and I respected his views if I didn't always share them. The world has changed and the high road isn't always possible. It seems to me President Obama made a bold decision and dealt with the matter in the most expedient way. IWhy do we glorify these sad humans by calling them terrorists? People who practice war by murdering innocent civilians are sneaky murdering cowards. I can't even stand the sight of pictures of this odius excuse for a human being. The world is no doubt a greatly improved place without him, and to never see him again in any way shape or form would be a further improvement.

I have become a big fan of Piers Morgan but was not happy with the Michael Moore interview. I had to turn Michael Moore off last night and I'm a fan of MM and liberal. That is very rare for me, but the double standards are just too convenient for him. Then add that Piers didn't comment on Michael Moore calling Osama Bin Laden an execution! Come on! Even MM demeanor was obviously guilty for his own behavior! Our service men and women put their lives at risk, and you have the gall to name it something it was not. Until you're and actual witness to this type of mission, don't name it! You have no qualification to do so! Take your money that you've earned from being a limousine liberal and go live somewhere else!

First of all, I believe Mr. Michael Moore is passionate of peace and justice, and nevertheless, he has a compassion for the people's well being and safety. However, his opinion during the interview was inconsistent. His answers were wandering. There was no main point seemingly. It is hard to follow the answers and his standpoint honestly. Mr. Moore should give more direct responses. Besides, Piers Morgan is not at fault. Rather, Piers Morgan kept getting the topic back on track whenever Mr. Moore was talking swayingly. I appreciate his style in interview.
I thought all the people would be happy about the result of the raid. Keeping justice and obtaining trials are good deed. Unfortunately, it is a different story in handling such 'extremely' wanted terrorist. It would be greater problem and even ordeal if he escaped. On the other hand, it might create more risks and devastating conditions in transporting Osama Bin Laden. No one wants more innocent lives to be wasted anymore.
Reality is, people should be grateful that one dangerous mastermind was stopped.

Never would I have thought ever to feel some joy over the news of someone's demise from the world but I feel OK about your President's move on Bin Laden. Killing him was certainly no execution simply because there has been no trial of a case accusing him and leading up to a verdict. We must dismiss that idea. It may have been murder, legally thinking. Who knows. You can't oppose a fact however and fact is Bin Laden is gone. The world seems quite prepared to live on. Let's do it and call the riddance of mr. Enemy not retaliation but an elimination.

History is what we are prepared to put to rest; future is what keeps us vigilant.

MM is pretty much spot on.
If the US were on the receiving end of such action what would the response. Assume for a moment that
a foreign power (Spain or Switzerland) that considers a leader (GWB) ,a war criminal according to them, responsible for many thousands of deaths, much like OBL, sent special forces in to kill him. Those forces stormed a house and killed the man who killed thousands. Would at least one of our arguments be that that leader at least deserves a trial?

How many times have you seen a middle eastern crowd chanting in unison and felt unnerved and perhaps had negative feelings about that group. Now just replace the shouts of "allah akbar" with" usa usa". Do you still feel unnerved? The principal is the same isnt it? just different adjectives. Except they are usually protesting someones death while our nation was celebrating someones death. No shining city on this hill.

It's funny how Michael Moore says, "The republicans were trying to shut down the federal government while President Obama was trying to get Osama bin Laden," . It's funny how he fails to mention that the week previous to this, Obama wasn't in favor of paying the troops. The same troops who put their lives in the line of danger to take out Osama Bin Laden. Seeing a crowd chanting and celebrating in the streets over the assassination of Osama bin Laden was creepy... I thought that the US were supposed to be better than the terrorists, but it seems that they are just at the same level as him in the end.

The end might justify the means, unfortunately I doubt that Osama Bin Laden's death will actually change anything. The man was a lot of things, but not stupid, he would have planned ahead for this. It would have been much better to take him alive, to make a symbol of his demise and get whatever use out of his capture as would have been possible to get.

As for Michael Moore, well, whether right or wrong, at least he has the guts to stand up for what he believes. I looked hard for inconsistencies in his opinion in this video and couldn't find any, so I guess all the above posters better tell me where they think he is flip-flopping.

He also usually does his research well, although it is debatable whether he uses his knowledge for the right purpose, so those accusing him of lying better do their research too. And, please, not being a re-born Christian or whatever religious fanatic is not a good reason for calling him a liar. I mean, that's the kind of argument that makes the rest of the world think all Americans are stupid (sorry for those who aren't!).

Same as Ted Nugent in another Piers interview. Anyone want to take bets David would not want to afford Mr Nugent the same bit of respect?

    Dear Piers:

News reports state the Pakistani Military Academy is 1,000 metres from bin Laden's compound ...... and, the commandos' raid lasted 40 minutes?. Was the (rented / nearby to bin Laden's laird) C.I.A. observation house vacated before the raid?; ..... or, did it remain as a temporary "safe-house' for the Navy Seals (just in case)? ...... Were any of the compound's occupants wearing night clothing (pijamas), at 1:00 a.m.?; .... was bin Laden wearing his robe and turban, at the time of his shooting? .... Dd the commandos shoot bin Laden's rottweiler?; could the downed helicopter have entangled with the overhead hydro line or a clothes line, in the compound?; ..... could a drone not have decimated the remaining tail of the helicopter, following the commandos' departure?

    Best Regards,

    Mull this folks.

The former Dep.Asst.Secy under three US presidents Dr.Steve R.Piecznik who still works for the Defence Deptt. made this shocking revelation on Alex Jones show 3rd May.
That he i prepared to tell a Grand Jury the name of the top US general who confided to him that 9/11 was a false flag and an inside job and that Osama Bin Laden died in 2001.

Dear Mr.Morgan why not invite Dr. Piecznik to your show?

Went to this site to try and send a message to Piers but wound up here reading these blogs. Some of the statements I have read are factual and some disputable. Regarding Michael Moore, I do not think he is a stupid man but I do feel he is so far left that he borders lunacy with his opinions which by God nobody better refute. I will not give my political stance here because I don't want to get caught in the "hamster wheel" with someone. So, back to the show I feel Michael Moore is a narcacisst that simply enjoys being argumentative or should I say inflammatory. Hey Mr. Moore, have you heard of the term "think before you speak" or at least make damn sure you are certain of your statements you present as factual or zip it. Everyone knows you actually "hate" Bush and I am mixed on many of his politics along with his predecessors and the current president. I will say that President Obama made a gutsy decision and I commend him for his actions. I wasn't one of his biggest fans because IMO he hasn't been trustworty as you stated. Guantanimo bay is an example that Piers brought up and you just danced around it. Bottom line: he ...and I quote...said "I made a mistake closing down Guantanimo Bay". He hasn't exactly stood his ground with the Republicans and that has caused me to question how he would act under pressure. Well, he earned my respect with a courageous decision. It is so easy to play Monday night quarterback when in reality you do not have a clue nor do I what intelligence he was presented nor do I. However, he acted and for people like yourself to question his actions or the reactions of our fellow Americans is shameful. The party in the street of NY city was not just frat boys clinking their beers but it was Americans coming together to rejoice in the very city that one of the most severe attacks to date. Did you lose a family member or friend in 9/11 Mr. Moore? That is what I thought so nobody cares that you are Irish Catholic or white or a fanatic or this or that. That celebration made me extremely proud and instead of crying for those that we lost and who lost loved ones, I wept tears of joy in a bittersweet manner. I am not going to defend Bush but I have to call you out once and for all. He did not lie to the American people about the WMDs for the last time. The information was provided by the CIA!!! Christ I am so sick of rehashing that same thing. Should we still be our boys home like we did with Nam. Also, Bush did not close down a CIA camp that I know of. He did the opposite by vetoing HR2082. LInk: Why don't you and Charlie Sheen hang out so you can talk about how wonderful you both perceive yourself as being from that lofty place you have put yourself? How's the view from an idiot's paradise?

The Micheal Moore's and the Jessie Ventura's are nothing but speculators who found a commodity to profit off of. This country has done a lot for many country's. They don't know what goes on but to speculate. They don't have any kind of executive pass to any of what they claim. They just like to throw crap against the wall just to see where it would slide. The bottom line as long as we have the speculators like Micheal Moore there will always be a danger to the American people, hard working people who see their jobs lost to China and out sourcing. When there is a disaster in any part of the world it is the American people who are the first to lend a helping hand. It is the American people who pay the price for every decision Government makes good or bad. We don't need the opinion of Micheal Moore to decide what is right and wrong. IKHAN, your another opportunist who takes advantage of your first amendment rights who likes to throw disinformation out here and who has nothing to back it up with. The American people have more common sense then you think to know there are a lot of delusional people out there like Micheal Moore. After seeing footage of the plane going into the pentagon form a nearby security camera Micheal tries to make claim it never did and asked where are the parts? There isn't much you would find after seeing something made of tin loaded with fuel hit a building going almost 300mph! Micheal Moore likes to make bogus movies purely on speculation and profit. His theory on 9/11 didn't happen the way we all seen it as he claimed! Moon missions never happened according to him. We waited 40 years for Micheal Moore to come along and tell us that. I wonder how many times he saw Capricorn 1. I lost all if any respect for him after what he did to Buz Aldren. There are some things I have to say I agree with but the rest only shows me he is a few beers short of a six pack. So Micheal can continue to make more bogus movies, make all the money he can wile having no regrets for the added grief he imposes on the American people. Our country did break international laws to get UBL. That's no secret. Our (Navy Seals) not Delta Force killed UBL. I believe it was intentional and well deserved. And I hope the rest of them receive the same faith. 13 years and billions of dollars later to find ULB who everyone thinks is human was a small step, Executing ULB was a giant leap for mankind!

    @ Vince

    you are sadly mistaken.
I do not throw disinformation around. I simply state what Americans who cannot be dismissed as 'delusional' or wackos are saying. Like a senior state deptt official or Richard Gage a respected architect or a well known veteran British journalist and thousands more.
And thank heaven we Americans are not stupid and have questioning minds, at least those who are thinking and cannot just be swayed by propaganda.
yes we will & should always question & strive to seek the truth. Heaven forbid if we give this up, that will be this nation's undoing.
OBL's death is indeed a great step forward and we are rightly proud of our President and the brave Navy Seals. But that doesn't mean that we are deprived of our rights as Americans to question the basis or morality or justification of the Iraq disaster and the veracity of what we have been led to believe about the 9/11 attacks.
Those who were sacrificed for Iraq folly and the families of the victims of 9/11 deserve to know.

it’s not about some pictures (“gruesome” or not) – it’s about evidence which must be presented:
4 people killed (not captured. but executed on spot; 3 unarmed and not resisted) – killing was legal, they was a terrorists, there wasn't a mistake; otherwise it would make it a murder (dna suggest – he might be kill obl’s uncle and 3 other unknown men – by mistake : )))) (joke)

-that’s why we do need bring criminals, war criminals, terrorists to justice – not just to serve justice on the spot or just execute people (kill first, id and ask questions – later)
without such justice – it’s a slippery slope (good for vigilante, but not for government) – today it’s obl and 3 other guys (justice served, though they not deserved justice), tomorrow- just some 3 other guys; (“we just kill one of your relatives by mistake, thought it’s some terrorists, whoops – sorry; and btw it's clisified, so what can you do – arrest me?”)

-that’s why evidence should be presented, not just words – in democracy governments accountable for it’s actions, isn’t it? and that’s how we are, our Congress and Supreme Court do not allow government to be involved in any illegal activity, our troops to be send on unaccountable killing spree and be portrayed in foreign press as a death squads.

Thinking about it taking Osama Bin Laden alive could have been a huge potential security risk for teh US, which might be a reason why they might have chosen assassination instead of capture...

I guess there is the "right" thing to do and then there is the "pragmatic" thing to do. From what I have seen of President Obama I'd say he is not a is not a bad person, but probably enough of a pragmatist to order or at least condone an assassination.

Does anybody giving their genius opinions on this blog even know how they came to judge and weigh the available variables before affording everyone in the free press their rational and logical deduction. In other words, how is it that any of your opinions and decision making processes are any better than say a five year olds? Just curious as to whether anybody in their infinite wisdom in a finite game has any idea of understanding how they came to their final stance on this matter. Think before you speak, think to yourself, Do i have an educational background in real logic and deductive reasoning or do you say, as so do many ignorant soccer moms, its just common sense? Do you realize that common sense many and most times is synonymous with common bias? Ask yourself Is it possible that I took a course in Decision theory but forgot everything that goes into such an important debating process? Is it possible that nobody really knows except those who happen to truly be in the know? To the educated many of your ideas of right and wrong, common sense and ignorance, obvious and esoteric are very amusing yet sad and in all actuality show your stupidity to a level lower than a mildly mentally challenged person. Keep your traps shut. The US is a great country. The government is more intelligent than you'll ever understand. Everything and every decision is staged as a dog and pony show to keep the general public that we will call mushrooms in the dark. Feed the mushrooms crap and keep them in the dark because many of you haven't a clue as to how the real world works. You would like to think it true that you have insight into that which nobody else does. Therein lies your stupidity.

Osama Bin Laden has probably been sitting around in some chalet in Switzerland or some island, and they just saved his killing for another of those Re-Election gimmicks. It's too plain for all to see outside the bubble that is America. They figured give the world a less WASPy face to run the crusade, and they might just fall for it. The Americans and the Israelis and the Saudis are running one of the most disgusting arms trading businesses on this earth and millions have died in this vain. There were non-Americans who died during 9/11 too, and I wonder when Americans will stop this vulgar display of muscles every time they get the opportunity, while they're more than happy to sit and get robbed blind by their own government, year in year out. Year in year out.

By any of the standards and practices of war Osama Bin Laden was not only a combatant; by the Geneva Conventions an illegal combatant and war criminal on various counts, most horribly in the deliberate targeting of civilians. As such he could claim no protection from the Geneva Conventions, and he was a perfectly legitimate target for a military operation, whether he was armed or not.

People who suggest he was executed, or should have been taken POW or as a prisoner and held criminally responsible are taking advantage of the general ignorance of such matters. This is manipulation at its worst.

Regarding Cindy Sheehan's comments here on March 10th I've tried to keep somwheat of an open mind regarding her and her protests against the current administration. However, her comments here on March 10th exposed her for exactly what she is or has become. She's turned from a mainstream protester into a fringe fanatic. Her claim now is that anyone who doesn't agree with her opinions about our government, which she has a perfect right to voice, are fascists. Her comment that 90% of the U.S. Senate are slithering fascists shows that she has now gone over the top and can no longer be taken seriously by reasonable thinking people. That's too bad, because she was in a position where she could've done much good with a more positive influence, considering that a substantial part of America orginally sympathized with her. Her fanaticism has now lost her that support from all but the most radical edge of the extreme left wing. It now seems obvious she's lost her credence with the mainstream public. Again that's too bad. It's interesting and rather amazing to see how some people are effected when thrust into the public eye. In this case, it was a negative turn. Much too negative.
