What we're reading for tonight's show: Two of the 'gang,' Prince Alwaleed, Bruni

• Two members of the "Gang of Six" senators working on a bipartisan debt reduction plan will be on tonight's show – Tom Coburn and Kent Conrad. Here's the latest information on where the debt talks stand. As for the "gang" plan: "Lawmakers are also continuing discussions focused on the $3.7 trillion debt reduction blueprint put forward by the "Gang of Six," a group of three Democratic and three Republican senators."

• Also on the show will be Prince Alwaleed Bin Talal, a major shareholder in News Corp. as well as several other American companies. He will speak about Rupert Murdoch, the debt and the Middle East. As for Murdoch, he said yesterday that he "fully supports" the News Corp. Chairman.

• And we have New York Times columnist Frank Bruni, who will discuss the economy, politics and more. Bruni previously was a restaurant critic and White House correspondent for the paper. Here's his latest column about the first same sex wedding in New York, taking place this weekend.

Watch the full show live, 9pmET.

I hope you will ask the Prince about reports that is a supporter of terrorist activity and also the Iranian government. Also the Kingdom Foundation, which he founded, about supporting the mosque at Ground Zero.

This Saudi billionaire Al-Waleed owns a large piece of the Murdoch pie including Fox News. Why wouldn't he defend that thug Murdoch.

The prince has been known to be deeply in cahoots with the Bush family. He is the last person to support any terrorists who are declared enemies of Saudi Royals. These royal;s would only support any and all who can guarantee perpetuation of their rule. Support Iranians – lol.
Not the mosque in lower Manhattan he had offered millions for rebuilding Ground Zero.

I fail to understand how HRH Prince Alwaleed is stating Capitalism was to blame for the fall. Whether socialists or capitalists greed exists. It's human nature and the U.S. didn't cause the world wide economic meltdown – it was across the globe. To state let's raise taxes on people who can afford it so the government can continue to spend as they wish is ridiculous and I'm not even rich! I can see this it's basic common sense except of course to those of you from Europe who think your economic ways are so great like national health care....a friend of mine died because he had to get on a waiting list there.

Bottom line is stop acting like idiots saying taxes are the answer. The answer is for Congress and the U.S. to balance its checkbook like all of us do at home.

Piers, I have a question I would like you to address. I've noticed that when the oober rich are asked about their take on the debt crisis, on your show they become very squemish, and all reply that the debt ceiling must be raised. My question is, is it because the fiat monitary system will be put under review? I personally believe that the fiat monitary system is the reason why this crisis is happening in the first place. Why should America and all other nations of the world not be in charge of printing their own money. The reason the debt is so outrageous is because of the huge interest we pay to the money monopolisers, if countries prited their own money, they wouldn't have to pay interest. Why is this not addressed on your show. You are an intelligent man, and I'm sure you'll agree with what I've said.

    Piers,
How dare some rich prince from another country state that greed is the problem with our economy.......isn't he extremely rich? And the nerve to state that "clearly" Social Security & Medicare should be taxed......REALLY????? Tax those that can least afford it? We paid into it ALL of our lives and now we should pay taxes in our retirement???? Unbelievable!!!! Soon regular retired people will be homeless and have to eat cat food.....what happened to the people who have been blessed with financial wealth giving back??? I can't believe that some actually think those of us who depend on Social Security & Medicare in our old age should pay more taxes...........I am FUMING.......this guy is a greedy MORON!!!!

There is a difference between being greedy and being rich. While the Prince is very rich, he has donated millions of dollars to poor people and humanitarian causes. Once a week he hosts a gathering where people come to him and ask him for support (i.e. money to send kids to school, etc.) and he helps each one.

In terms of medicare and SS what I heard him say was cleary it will be impacted and when Piers asked him about taxes he did say that taxes would have to be raised but not neccearily that it should be taxes of the middle class or working class.

My wife and I watch CNN most evenings and this evening we happened to catch Piers' interview with Frank Bruni, which was OK on the surface...however, nothing worth noting. I did, however, take exception when Piers asked Bruni...what do you think "your country" should do about the economy. I suspect based on Piers' comment about "your country" he is not an American citizen...which in and of itself is a non-issue but I don't feel like tuning into an news entertainment show and hearing an American challenged about "your country"...maybe it's time for Piers' to recognize what country he lives in and where he's making big bucks...otherwise, maybe it's time for CNN to move on to a more dynamic American host.

In today's world of shifting balance of power & winds of change blowing across the Middle East , we the US stand nowhere.
As a result of our misguided foreign policy, especially in the Middle East & South Asia, Latin America , we have lost the prestige & clout we once enjoyed.
Needless to say that this policy & our involvement in mindless military conflicts have had an adverse effect on our domestic financial & fiscal health.
Trillions of tax dollars being wasted on wars, maintaining 700 military bases around the world, Homeland Security & dole out to our 'allies'.
If one is to believe the report in Israeli daily Ma'ariv. We are on the brink of another disaster, a war with Iran. According to Ma'ariv the ex- chief of Mossad , Meir Dagan has disclosed that the thug Netanyahu is planning to attack Iran in Sept of 2011 & to drag US along into yet another inferno.
What is worrisome is that this has been asserted by none other than the decorated ex-CIA official Robert Baer.
Undoubtedly if Israel attacks Iran, those in our Congress who swear allegiance to that regime would scramble to support Netanyahu & to push us into the conflict.
Consequences, dear folks are too horrible to contemplate.
Time indeed for us Americans to wake up.
