READ about Piers Morgan's long career in journalism here.
Last night Piers Morgan took a look at the debt crisis and where negotiations currently stand. He talked with White House Press Secretary Jay Carney to see if the president thinks Congress will pass a deal before the August second deadline. "We are confident – the president is confident – if you will – that sanity will prevail."
Piers also talked with Republican Senator Pat Toomey who is hopeful Congress will solve the crisis before it is too late. "I hope we can find a solution that will allow us to raise the debt limit," he said, "and avoid the disruption that would occur if we don't raise the debt limit."

A word of advise. Tonight with Larry King, I would even try to attempt slanting that either of you are not politically biased.
Both of you could be excellent propagandists for Media Matters. In fact you are. So please spare us any attempt to maintain that your careers, although entertaining, have been impartial in the slightest.
The National Passport Center in Portsmouth, NH has nine assistant directors. Each make about $120K and receive health care, retirement, and life insurance from the American tax payer. If they show up for work, they usually spend time surfing the web and reading emails.
My question to presidential candidates: How is this justified given our current economic conditions and debt crisis?
No one responded or answered this question.
Second question: How seriously are presidential candidates on reducing government waste?
Where has all our tax dollars gone?
Why are we almost morally and economy bankrupt? I am sure this posting will be removed soon from youtube by

Piers: Gene Sperling must be out of touch and living in a bubble if he thinks that people do not want Obama to invoke the 14th Amendment to end this budget crisis. Obama MUST do that as Bill Clinton suggested if all talks fail in order to save the country. If Obama does not do this and either allows the country to default or signs a GOP budget surrender treaty; then I think that Howard Dean, Russ Finegold, or some other well known Democrat should seriously challenge him in a Democratic primary running on that they will fight and not surrender!

The Bush administration cut income (taxes) by $3.2 trillion and now the GOP is surprised our expenses are exceeding our income. They argue the tax cuts were needed to fuel the economy! Then they took us into two unnecessary, unfunded wars to drive up our debt to where it is today. Can someone please ask them these simple questions and nail them until they explain themselves instead of blaming everything on Obama.
If the debt crisis is not resolved rich folks will lose more than poor folks-thats why the republicans will fold.
Piers and other news anchors have repeatedly failed to challenge the assertions leveled by Republican mouthpieces that Obama has offered "no plan." This is intuitively false as demonstrated by the fact that Boehner ended talks after Obama's last proffer. The NY Times ran a graphic showing specific proposals Obama offered in negotiations through July 22. Piers, check out http://mediamatters.org/research/201107270018, and call them on this.
Piers is NOT a news anchor.
He replaced Larry King and his job is interviewing and entertainment. Don't know about you, but I can find
the news anchors everywhere about now, and could darn well use some ENTERTAINMENT.
He USED to be a reporter. Not his job now.
maybe they should raise the level for taxing the rich from 250k, to lets say 500k to 1mil, may be then they will all come together and find more common ground and solve this whole problem.
Good one, that would surely help. Who is rich with 250,000?
Oh my whatever you pray to! Connie Mack (R) Congressman from Florida just LIED all through his interview. Piers Morgan the tool he is, didn't correct him or call him on anything. What happened to journalism? Shameful!!
I think that if they cut out half the gov. funded research programs that are frivalouse and bogus, they could put back billions of dollars, to pay down our debt. and keep the elderly and disabled off the street. because thier land lords and nursing homes cant keep them without thier checks. they spend almost 2 trillion on these programs. is the white house and the congress ready to take these people in and feed/ clothe/ and care for them, when thier own families are not able to, because they are out of work and living on the streets already.
Piers, I am so disappointed at your blantant and uninformed partisan slant everytime you interview anyone. It is the Dems who put off a budget debate for years now, and the Dems who refused to debate (we want out way or the highway) the healthcare bill. They are a Our way or no way party. Barack O, has not helped a thing by his mudslinging. I don't think you find Republicans so blatantly using this precarious situation as campaign tools.
Those tea party candidates were elected to reign in the spending, balance the budget, and the American people all
want that. All the Dems can do is spend millions on stupid stuff, like why do pigs smell bad? PLEASE! You are not of this country, you don't have the right to be so blatantly on the side of either party. Objectivity would be appreciated.
Remember how Dave's viewership tanked after he was so far to the left. Wellllllllllllll, you might want to zip your
blabbermouth, impertinent, mouth in this grave situation, and be on the side of BOTH parties, who have to work this
out. You do not have the right to bllame anyone. You are a Brit! And as a TV replacement for Larry, who never entered into partisan battle, this is not your job. Just do your job, which is not to be another lopsided back assward
partisan news reporter.
