Clips From Last Night: Christine O'Donnell on the GOP (and sex); Howard Schultz on the economy

Christine O'Donnell was a guest last night on "Piers Morgan Tonight," and besides the walk-off that everyone is talking about, she also was interviewed for 20 minutes about the GOP, masturbation, her "witch" ad and more. "It was a very heavy lift for a grassroots, mostly volunteer based campaign.," she said of the GOP in 2010. " And without the strength of a united party it was difficult."

See her thoughts on sex below. Also, Starbucks CEO Howard Schultz talks to Piers Morgan about turning around the economy:

Schultz: "What I'm asking of my peers is to invest back into the growth of the country and the company...as a result of the deficit and the pressure on the federal government, the individual states, 42 of the 50 states, are facing a budget deficit."

O'Donnell, on sex: "At that time in my life, my goal was to reach out to young people...there's a little bit of a crisis when it comes to, whether it's AIDS or sexually transmitted diseases or teenage pregnancy."

    I thought Piers was BRILLIANT!
These politicans that want to manipulate the show for their own agenda are so self serving!. Disgusting ,and we still continue to vote for them.
She did herself a lot of harm by not answering the question and moving on.
Totally different to the Starbucks CEO and the former Gov. of South Carolina.

Why would anyone do an interview and then not answer the interviewer's questions? Ms. O'Donnell should be ashamed of herself. I certainly am. These are the people who want to lead us? Unacceptable!

O'Donnell was a waste of time and she does not need to be invited back BUT Howard Schultz' interview was excellent! He is an intelligent, forward- thinking CEO of Starbucks that we need more of especially in our government! Leadership like his made our country great and by using his ideas we can again become a great nation.

Way to go, Christine O'Donnell for sticking to your guns! People like Piers need to be put in their place - that is, back in the place of a responsible journalist who's actually more interested in talking about relevant facts than in muck-raking and diversion. Piers' recent celebrity vis-a-vis America's Got Talent, etc., has apparently turned him into a legend in his own mind. Again Christine, congratulations!

Being a Brit, maybe I can sort of understand why Piers is a tad bit sensitive to the concept of the Tea Party. Just a thought ...

I'm no O'Donnell fan (just the opposite), but Piers showed his true colors on this broadcast. A complete PHONY playing to the liberal spectrum because that's where he gets his guests, and shooting not for any type of enlightenment, but only for ratings. I know he wouldn't have pulled this BS with a male liberal guest..... suggeting the guest come on for an interview, and then bombarding him with "gotcha" questions that Piers would well know he couldn't have posed to a male Hollywood type without jeopardizing his ability to attract future guests. Do you think he "sold" O'Donnell on coming on by suggesting all he wanted to talk about was old news? This man is a phony, unworthy of hosting a talk show.

So she writes about in the book she is promoting but wants to pick and choose what she wants to speak about.

BS - pure FAR RIGHT WING radical.

He went to abstinence and SHE went back to masturbation - and what the heck is she talking about freedom to talk about it - he was asking her questions about her views on national television about things IN HER BOOK.

A low rent stupid(er) version of Palin.

Good for Piers! He has to ask the hard ball questions that is what he does. Hello? His show isn't about fluff, what was that woman thinking? CNN is a news show not a show to promote books! Is that lady off her rocker? I don't know a thing about this Christine O'Donnell, but when I heard this I was offended for Piers not her. If she's looking for fluff she should be looking at programs like Regis and Kelly, not Piers Morgan. Piers Morgan is a real show, not a fluff show!

This type of behavior from Piers Morgan is why I do not watch him or CNN anymore. This type of "gotcha" journalism should be left to the magazines in the grocery store checkout. O'Donnel agreed to talk about her book not the topic of Gay Marriage. Paparazzi lures to get a star to come to the door in their shorts is not a technique that should be used under the banner of "news". CNN used to be a very good and newsworthy network that was part of my daily routine for many years. At one time, CNN had earned my trust. Unfortunately, CNN has chosen repeatedly to go down the path of a gossip station instead of a news network. The fact that CNN's ratings have been dropping as much as they have is proof that most of their (former) viewers are smart enough to see through these cheap, sensationalist techniques.

The Democratic Party and the DSCC are pathetic. The best they can come up with is harnpig on the fact that she went broke trying to run for office. They can call that an irresponsible fiscal record, but its not a fiscal record at all. It was a personal matter, and has NO bearing what so ever on her ability to stop the corruption and progressive movement. A Huge part of the problem with our political system is that although it was designed to allow anyone to run, its ended up that only the Elite and connected can do so because its so expensive. That needs to be fixed and soon. Because Christine was brave enough to give it a try multiple times and not give up because she was broke is a credit to her determination and her integrity. Its not a negative, far from it, its a huge positive. Rita, your clueless and a typical left wing hack. Just call her a name like a 5th grader and make multiple false accusations and character assasinations without providing any proof to back up your hateful left wing rhetoric. Grow up.

I hardly see how asking her those question makes him a jerk. She wrote about those things in her book, and was on the show to discuss that book. If she didn't want to talk about them, she either shouldn't have written about them, or not booked herself on the show to talk about the book, in which she wrote about them.

http://barelyablog.com/?p=40993: "...boy-oh-boy, did Mr. Morgan, politely yet emphatically, expose Madam Christine O’Donnell’s high-and-mighty antics. The former Republican candidate for Senate in Delaware appeared on 'Piers Morgan Tonight' to promote a book (which some major publisher, sadly, found worth publishing). O’Donnell being O’Donnell, she refused to answer a question about a topic she discussed in the very book her host had had the courtesy to read. Pertaining to your abbreviated interview with Christine O'Donnell which I watched on your program last night, I have a suggestion for you. Go to theblaze.com and view the interview of Ms. O'Donnell on My Fox WTTG Channel 5 this morning to see how a proper, civil interview can be conducted. You may glean some substantive, balanced information about your former guest.

The really crazy thing is why Piers Morgan would have Christine O'Donnell on his program at all. What a waste of time with someone who has nothing to say, no official role, and was able to get someone to ghost write a book for her. I'm no fan of O'Donnell, but if Morgan told her that he was going to ask her one set of questions and then instead asked her another, the fault lies with him. Journalists are free to ask any questions they'd like, but as is the case in any scenario in life, if you say you're going to do something, you should do exactly that. American journalism - Morgan included - has become pathetically superficial and full of exactly these types of silly games at the expense of thoughtful reporting.

Piers Morgan: Please do not invite Christine O'Donnell back to your program. She is such a completely absurd twit. She doesn't deserve the publicity or platform of your show. I thought Piers was completely charming and appropriate. O'Donnell is an intellectual and social idiot who is ridiculously hyperactive and petulant. She makes her fellow twits Sarah Palin and Michelle Bachman seem like PHDs from M.I.T. She should be banished to some far away place where she will never be seen or heard from again.

Piers and his show are absolutely the most uninformative drivel I have watched in recent memory. Why would he be talking to the likes of O'Donnell and Meatloaf with everything going on in America. His equal is Jerry Springer, who is as much a tabloid TV wanna be as anyone I have ever had the displeasure to try to make a point. He is pointless and his show is absolutely pointless. BTW I am a huge Meatloaf fan which is the only reason I tuned in and will make a point to never tune in again. Piers Morgan has no place 'reporting' any type of news and I will never watch CNN again as long as he is given voice.

Piers, you have gone beyond your boundaries as a host by pushing your biased and personally opinionated beliefs into creating a false image of the people you interview. You should be ashamed of your actions on national television, ashamed of your respect for others, and honestly ask yourself if you are being ethical. I applaud Christine O'Donnell for walking off your show. To CNN: Please re-consider Piers as your tonight show host! You have lost my loyal and faithful viewership, as well as others with me.

Your 4 year old claims to innocence in your line of questions was as transparent as the words of any other 4 year old. Piers you are done in my book. Get some dignity and decency!

She wrote about it in her book, and that's why she's on the show. That's hardly "gotcha journalism".

If you don't want to talk about, don't write it in a book, and then book yourself on a show to discuss that book.

Morgan, that was in poor taste. You blew it big time. I am a Democrat and what you did and for that matter people in your arena who take things so far out of common sense and decency. As long as you and others are getting your rating who cares about others. I do get disappointed with our government and how our leaders are handling things, but I let my vote talk for me. I am still shaking my head over your weak interview with Mrs. O’Donnell. How about some respect and civility? You should not be proud of yourself: you were awful. I hope you noticed that I did not begin your name with Mr. Not deserving. I do not care where it was a republican or democrat, a man or woman, straight or gay; you were so blatant and brash. We as a nation are losing our respectability for the quick ratings (bucks). Now that you are low, let’s see how low you can go.

Mrs. O'Donnell is and was in the wrong to pull the plug on Piers Morgan's show and then turn around the following day and cry about it. Totally UN-PROFESSIONAL. Doesn't she realize that if she actually were President she would come up against even harder scrutiny; and you can't just get up and walk out of working meetings. These appearances also serve as working meetings to apply for the position of Presidency. She seems to be full of taking a block of space and filling it up with a lot of noise. If Mrs. O'Donnell and those who follow her feel Piers was rude well replay the tape and see how she provoked the situation. Seems to me that every time I try to listen to her fairly "she says the same thing over and over and all I can hear is blah, blah, blah, blah . . . Piers it would be generous & FAIR for CNN to give her a second chance however review the questions ahead next time around and be Fair. If she refuses another visit to make things right; well then I think the majority has her number already. She has failed another test. Similar to Sarah Palin did in resigning from her Governors position in Alaska. One does not quit a job because of silly excuses.

Christine O'donnell mentions in her interview her religious beliefs...good....but stand by them. How do you feel on gay marriage? I think she is just another follower who thinks she knows what the public wants to hear and when asked to stand up to her beliefs, she has none. I believe that in this day and age we want to connect with a higher power...which is not our government. Well, guess what, Christine....America is suffering from the bs that you politicians are creating for us to live through and, yes, we do look to a higher power. If you were to ask me what I believe in the name of my religion, I would not back down and would answer the questions based on those beliefs. If you truly do have a religious motivation that drives you, why can't you declare it. Do you truely believe or do I feel a breeze up my shorts? Can we please find someone, anyone, with real values and the conviction to stand ny them for the changes this country needs, or at least, honesty.

    Watched the re-run.

As a skilled interviewer, you should have been ready to go with her line of discourse once it became clear that she would remain unresponsive to your questions. I realize that it's your show, that you get to ask the questions, but when she went on another rant about the Second American Revolution, you should have asked her if she was comparing herself to George Washington and Abraham Lincoln. And followed that up with: "Are you saying that your inflexible, ideological program is capable of leading us out of our economic woes? I see no evidence that this is true. By the way what are the specifics of your program? For deficit? For debt? For housing? For jobs? For recovery?"

I have lost all respect for you, Piers Morgan, and cannot imagine what you are doing in the company of intelligent and serious journalists at CNN, such as, among others, John King and Fareed Zakaria. Your interview with Christine O'Donnell added nothing to the public discourse and reflects your interest in sensationalism, but it gave you no reason or excuse to be so disrespectful to her. And your follow-up show which you filled with people who agree with you – how self-serving can you get? – was equally disgraceful. Just for the record, I personally don't care about your glorified opinion of yourself. Do not kid yourself – you were rude, mocking, annoying and arrogant. Christine O'Donnell is a human being, deserving of basic common courtesy – trapping her in your interview format doesn't give you license to show such disregard for her wishes. Even when your show seems to have some legitimacy, your grating habits of interrupting, smirking and drawing attention to yourself reveals your sense of utter disdain for others. CNN is losing viewers because of you.

I think we should all get behind companies like Starbucks and show our support by rewarding their moral and social investment with the American people. I about fell to my knees when Howard Schultz stated that there is more to a company than their bottom line! He understands that the character and personality of company must go hand in hand with their bottom line. There must be a GOD! Bravo to him for understanding that business is also building relationships with their customers as we are their bottom line. Bringing jobs back to the U.S. and investing in their customers lives should be rewarded!! I encourage everyone to support companies like Starbucks who go out of their way to support us! Fabulous job Piers Morgan! Please don't stop recognizing those companies that deserve to be noticed and continue to beat the drum to get U.S. companies to do the right thing!

to Arjuna: I taught this imramtol Yoga to Vivasvan (sun-god), Vivasvan conveyed it to Manu(his son), and Manu imparted it to (his son) Iksvaku. Thus transmitted to succession from father to son, Arjuna, this Yoga remained known to the Rajarisis (royal sages). It has however long since disappeared from this earth. The same ancient Yoga has this day been imparted to you by Me, because you are My devotee and friend, and also because this is a supreme secret .At this Arjuna said: You are of recent origin while the birth of Vivasvan dates back to remote antiquity. How, then, I am to believe that you taught this Yoga at the beginning of creation? Lord SriKrishna said: Arjuna, you and I have passed through many births. I remember them all, you do not remember.1. Radha Soami Faith was founded by His Holiness Param Purush Puran Dhani Huzur Soamiji Maharaj on the prayer of His Holiness Huzur Maharaj who later on became second Spiritual Head of Radha Soami Faith. The prime object of the Radha Soami Faith is the emancipation of all Jeevas (Souls) i.e. to take the entire force of consciousness to its original abode. There is a tradition of succession of Gurus or Spiritual Adepts in Radha Soami Faith. I am one of them as is evident from the following facts or . My most Revered Guru of my previous life His Holiness Maharaj Sahab, 3rd Spiritual Head of Radhasoami Faith had revealed this secret to me during trance like state.HE told me, Tum Sarkar Sahab Ho (You are Sarkar Sahab). Sarkar Sahab was one of the most beloved disciple of His Holiness Maharj Sahab. Sarkar Sahab later on became Fourth Spiritual Head of Radhasoami Faith.Since I don t have any direct realization of it so I can not claim the extent of its correctness. But it seems to be correct. During my previous birth I wanted to sing the song of Infinite (Agam Geet yeh gawan chahoon tumhri mauj nihara, mauj hoi to satguru soami karoon supanth vichara) but I could not do so then since I had to leave the mortal frame at a very early age. But through the unbounded Grace and Mercy of my most Revered Guru that desire of my past birth is being fulfilled now.
