Rudy Giuliani: "I think I could beat [Obama], but I think three or four Republicans could beat him"

Will Rudy Giuliani run for President again in 2012? He hasn't ruled it out. "If the next President doesn't have the courage to deal with entitlement spending...then we're not straightening out the problems in our economy," he tells Piers Morgan tonight. "Somebody has to have the courage to talk about that."

Giuliani also said why he thinks he has a shot to beat Pres. Barack Obama: "If Barack Obama remained roughly where he is now, sure I think I could beat him, but I think three or four Republicans could beat him." Watch the full interview tonight at 9pmET/PT – also on the show, New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman.

Please extend our sincere sympathies to the father of Amy Winhouse. We loved her here in Canada and she will be surely missed. I now turn up the music full blast in my car when I hear her voice, to honor her memory. Thanks Amy for all the great music and memories. You were something else.....A remarkable and unique talent. Canada will miss you too.

Rudy Giuliani runs down Obama's spending of health care. Well, here in Canada, we have excellent Health Care, and our taxes go towards our health care so that we can take care of our elderly, sick. We're financially in good position, our economy is decent, our houses are holding their own. Most importantly, we care about our health care. Right now many of the largest American companies are recording record profilts and they are doing it by cuttnig back employees and working who they do have to the bone. They also don't want to contribute to higher taxes. As we see it here, it's nothing but greed. It's time these businesses started helping out and giving back to society instead of always looking for handouts, ways to find loopholes, make large profits. I don't see large business suffering – I don['t see them putting themselves out. I think they've been spoiled. It's the little guy who is suffering. It's a case of the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. Education is ridiculously high. How on earth does Giuliani and his Republican party expect children to pay all this back without big business doing their part of paying their share of taxes. They want all these tax breaks, shelters, but give nothing in return.

The republican party got everyone into this mess in the first place and now they are trying to sabotage the current government so they can get back in power and create an even bigger mess. At least, that's how we see it in Canada.

Time for the Republicans to help America out, contribute to the tax, invest in better health care and let Obama do his job. Play like a team instead of out to win the next election. I think other countries around the world recognize what is going on. The Republican party is hurting America's credit rating, and reputation. They are showing they would sabotage their own country's economy, their people in order to win the next election.

Piers, STAND UP TO ALL THE UNFAIR LACK PF COVERAGE AND EVEN THE MENTION OF HIS NAME, "RON PAUL" BY ALL MEDIA. IT IS SHAMEFUL TO HAVE THE MEDIA SO BLATANTLY TRY TO HIJACK OUR POLITICAL SYSTEM. YOU SHOULD BE SAYING HIS NAME AS FREQUENTLY AS THE OTHER CANDIDATES. IT IS OBVIOUS YOU, ALL MEDIA, BANKSTERS, WALL ST. AND THE FEDERAL RESERVE ARE AFRAID. OF HIM AND HIS MESSAGE.

Canada isn't spending hundreds of billions in global warfare either.

Eddy. Canada doesn't have the population and money that the US does either. But we are there to support when aid is needed and people are being abused, slaughtered. We have been involved in the war in Afgan and Libya to the tune of $23 billion dollars this year alone. Who do you think supplied and flew some of the aircraft, our soldiers were there. It's not like we're a rich country. Anyway, these wars went on long before President Obama. Canada's population is: 34,576,000 vs America's 312,162,000, that' nearly ten times our size. We don't have as many billions to spend on things, but we still provide health care and thankfully and rightfully so. When companies only care about making profit and getting wealthier and don't give back I say it's time they paid higher taxes. It's time they had to shell out for health care. If you dont' have health, and putting people first, what will you have? President Obama is right..

Piers needs to be prepared for political interviews. So far, he's proved a complete lightweight with these type of interviews. I'm a moderate and have no confidence in either party, but Obama certainly did not spend more than all presidents combined as Guliani stated. Bush left office as the financial sectors were tanking and Bush cut taxes for the wealthiest 2% and for corporations. Obama may not have done too well, but the mess he has had to clean up will take many many years. Maybe if Piers spent less time twittering nonsense about himself and prepped properly for these types of interviews, he'd come off as a bit more prepared. Otherwise he should stick to the fluff celebrity interviews. His fawning over Kathy Ireland was a bit repuslive by any standards, but at least he didn't come off as ill informed.

Absolutely, Rudy is completely wrong. The national debt is approximately 14 Trillion dollars and about 1.5 Trillion was accrued during President Obama's term. Most of that was due to two wars he inherited, the Bush tax cuts and unfunded Bush prescription drug plan. To allow such a bold faced lie to go unchallenged is completely irresponsible.

In fact more than 9 Trillion of the 14 Trillion dollar debt was accrued under Republican presidents.

Piers wasn't worried about Guiliani's inaccuracies, as a matter of fact he was only interested in what he, Piers, was going to say, so no correction on the lie.

    And as for Rick Perry:
If Rick Perry can deny global warming when his state is burning with the worst fires in its history he must have ostrich in his blood. But its not denial, its a lie. As record profits by corporations continue to astound the common man who won't ever see billions let alone have them, Perry wants to give corporations more tax breaks and get rid of any guidelines for consumer safety and the ecosystem or worker rights. Yeah: lets get rid of the middle class in the quickest most expedient way. It’s on its last legs, so close in for the kill: elect Perry.

I was watching the beginning of Piers’s interview with Rudy Giuliani. yesterday. I had to turn it off after Rudy was spewing lies about Obama. As the host doesn’t Piers care anything about challenging false statements his guests say on his show? It looks like Piers doesn’t know about the issues and doesn’t want to deal with facts. Might as well watch Fox.

Rudy Giuliani, will not run for President, because he will not have a chance to win, his statement......"If Barack Obama remained roughly where he is now, sure I think I could beat him....Not true and he doesn't believe it himself. why doesn't the congress take a pay cut cut out their pensions and health care and see how it feels to be a real American. they live in the lap of wealth and talk about cutting more on the seniors and poor. and the Journalist also have good jobs and don't care about the middle class, almost gone, or the poor. Does there have to be a revolution before they see what we see. The Republicans help the Rich and get Rich them selves and the Democrats try to stand up for the middle class and the poor and some of them are racist. the Republicans are after Obama because he is black and they are racist. get Congress to take a cut and feel the economy like the seniors and poor. live on food stamps. try it it is horrible. but the middle class and poor only have Obama on their side. the programs have these people with their thoughts and they get paid for it and they have a good paying job. join the people and feel for them. the Journalist have a comfortable living too and don't seem to care about the people who struggle. Damn them

As I read some of the comments, I wonder how blind we as Americans are...it's truly sad on so many levels. As an American beyond a party if you can't see what is going on in the current administration as well as with the other parts of our government then there is no hope at all. But, I am not a gloom a doom individual...there is hope if we change direction. I don't have the answers, but when things are so far out of balance great losses are inevitable and the people who will bear the brunt of it is the average Joe and without any real honest growth for so many years it's all smoke and mirrors and we are played for fools. Keep your eyes closed and allow things to continue and you'll wake up in the not too distant future and wonder...how did we get here! Blame games need to stop... Hope and Change is and was BS and if you want more of it we all will suffer. Someone with a plan to stop the foolish garbage and freeloading on all levels is needed...get real Americans! It will be painful but start at the top, clean house... we are bleeding and we are the only ones who can stop it and we have to work together and if you don't believe that, well then you don't really care. There are so many issues to work through...it is sad and disgusting to watch the arrogance and foolishness! God help us.... and if you don't believe He can then you really have a problem!
