Kathy Hilton: Michael Jackson was "the most attentive, wonderful, father"

Kathy Hilton, good friend of Michael Jackson, was a guest on "Piers Morgan Tonight" this evening to talk about Day 1 of the Conrad Murray trial. "I have spent time with him, up until four or five months leading up to all this," Hilton told Piers Morgan. "Never, ever exhibited any of that kind of behavior. The most attentive, wonderful, father."

Hilton also expects some character assassination to come up during the trial. "People have been doing this to him for many years," she said.

I have been waiting to hear why Conrad Murray as a cardiologist was doing CPR to Michael Jackson on the bed. The first thing that you are taught at any CPR class is that you need a firm base to do the compressions. for example the floor. This really concerns me.

And he was only using one hand for CPR, too! It's unbelievable. And he's not even a board certified cardiologist, at that.

I've always thought the same thing. You are the first to mention it. I also wonder why he is being charged with INVOLUNTARY manslaughter. As a doctor, he knows full well what that amount of drugs can do. Let Michael beg for drugs to sleep. Murray should have sent him to a sleep clinic. First do no harm.

Thank you Kathy for doing this interview. MJ is going to need help from all who know and love him to help preserve his last shred of dignity.

Trish, you should be ashamed of yourself for giving Kathy Hilton support, in any way.

Who are you to throw stones, "Papa"? Kathy Hilton gave a heartfelt and straightforward interview, and obviously genuinely cares for her high school friend and his children.

In contrast, I've found many internet commenters such as yourself to be judgmental, hypocritical, negative, and ignorant – road rage hiding behind an anonymous handle. God forbid I post a positive comment, lest I be piled upon by hateful trolls.

Shame on you. It is about human being, human life. Michael Jackson did not kill anyone. He needed help. Druf him like that is a homicide.
Every person who knew him said he was polite humain being. What is wrong with you people?

yes MJ was addicted to drugs, but who gave me these drugs, its the doctor
now the problem is everything the defence presented so far is only a make up story that has no evidence to support and very hard to believe
first, saying that a "doctor" does not ask his patient about the medication he used to take is just un-real,no doctor will begin treating a drug addicted patient without asking about every detail in his medical history,
so this statement is just a lie
second, saying that MJ took the drug orally and thats why he died,is another lie, taking the drug orally"by mouth" will take longer time to give the effect, and according to the doctor own statement,he only went to the bathroom, then he returned to find MJ dead, that means the drug was not taking orally, and the doctor did give him the drug.
saying that he was planning to help MJ getting rid of the drug by decreasing the dose given to him,is another lie, because we know as a fact that he ordered a huge amount of the drug, which implies that he was planning for a long and increase usage of the drug, not the opposite
this doctor could be innocent, but until now everything he said was just a lie,and thats make his argument very week.

give me a break, Kathy Hilton – she makes the jackson family to be the All American Great family – they were one of the most screwed up, dysfunctional families and MJ was a drug addict! Heck, she doesn't even acknowledge her own daughter does drugs!! What a ridiculous interview tonight on CNN

Thank you, I just about fell out my chair when Kathy Hilton began speaking. Kathy Hilton is in no position to take an opinion of what a good parent is or is not. She raised her kids and they turned out to be "quite a piece of work". I'll take Kathy Hilton seriously when she can count past 20.

I'm so disappointed with you Piers. Kathy Hilton? Could you have not had a person on that has more credibility? Kathy Hilton can't count past 20. She certainly is in no position to comment on what a good parent is or is not. Look at the pigs she turned out. You can easily come up with more respectable and creditable persons than the Hiltons. Just show your viewing audience that your scrapping the bottom of the barrel.

To say that Michael Jackson was addicted to drugs based on listening to the tape recording is not exactly correct. Hearing someone talking heavily sedated does not equate to addicted drug use. Think about it, where else have we heard him like this. That is a generalization. It is known that he relied on heavy drugs to "get to sleep" due to extreme insomnia when touring and perhaps now we know due to the stress of the upcoming concert tour. We only heard one snippet of this recording. My question is – why would a Doctor record such a thing if not to report it and maybe that will come out later. Was Michael dependent on other narcotics – perhaps as he had many physical ailments. Was he mistreated and given poor doctoring – absolutely. Since when does a Doctor who claims to be helping his patient get off Propofol (sp?) (which by the way is not addicting) order an inordinate amount of the so called dependent drug. The Jackson family has been misrepresented in the media for years, just like Michael Jackson so for someone to comment that they were one of the most screwed up, dysfunctional families and MJ was an addict tells me that minimal thorough research was done. If Micheal had a dependency, addiction, it does not excuse a doctor from his negligence. I don't care how many patients he has helped, he dropped the ball on this one and someone lost their life. If this were your son, brother, father, uncle, you would want justice as well.

By Michael Jackson's own admission, he stated he was addicted to pain killers, i.e. drugs. There is no difference between being addicted to street drugs or prescription drugs. Michael Jackson was addicted to drugs for many years. He said so himself.

Michael was addicted to prescription pain killer in 1993 - he sought help for that addiction, went to rehab, and came out the other side.

So I disagree with the "addict" label. It's a giant assumption, with nothing to back it up at this point. Addicted to what, exactly? Propofol is not addictive at all, and all the medications in Michael's house were nothing unusual (depression/anxiety meds, antibiotics, etc.) . . . they were either used precisely as directed or barely used at all. And the only drugs in Michael's system at his time of death were the ones that Murray had given him (propofol, etc.).

People need to be careful with their labels when all of the facts are not known . . . especially people on television with a large influence/sway - that's all.

The trial isn't even about addiction, which is why this is so ridiculous to even be addressing. The trial is about the fact that Dr. Murray gave a fatal dose of anesthesia to Michael Jackson on June 25th, 2009, and committed gross negligence as a physician. Honestly? Whether or not Michael Jackson was "addicted" is beside the point entirely.

Actually there is a difference. Michael did not score illegal drugs to get high. At worst he took medication for real pain management issues and a sleeping disorder. He did not die of "drug addiction", he died of an overdose of Propofol administered to him by a doctor he trusted. All the medication in his system was given to him by Murray – despite his defence teams desperate lies that Michael ingested them himself.

Wow, this is amazing. I've listened to the Jackson 5, then the Jacksons and then Michael Jackson since I was 9 years old. I'm now coming on 50. I am the ardent fan, know every note, every lyric and every harmony that was ever sung by them, and sing them today, cry along like I've lost the only thing that was real to me and yet he's gone and there is absolutely nothing to be done about it......his life sucked. Am I the only one who knew his life was a trainwreck?

For the record, I am disappointed in Pierce Morgan. This show is now for me, now kinda like the loudmouth women that shoot their mouths off and say nothing.....the Nancy Grace's (and that other idiot) who like to hear thermselves talk, not worth watching....kinda stupid really. Pierce, disappointed that you've fallen into the Enquirer type kind of journalism, respected you once.

I could hear someone promting Kathy from the background, she was being fed specific words to describe MJ. Even then I dont think she made a lot of sense in the interview

Even sedated he spoke about his two enduring motivators in life. Being the greatest at his chosen profession and helping kids. There is so much in him that is admirable. His devotion to his craft. His ambition – backed up by hard work. His generosity, love for all people. His intellectual curiosity and broad knowledge of the world. His creativity and vision. And his total authenticity. If we can learn just one thing from Michael Jackson it is NOT to live one's life to please the mediocre.

There is no proof that Michael Jackson was a habitual drug user. He admitted to an addiction in '93 and sought help. We can deduce that he at some point was dependent on Demerol because he wrote a song about it! All that recording shows is that Murray taped him while sedated. The prosecution did not say what he was on at the time. Everything else is speculation. His autopsy showed healthy organs – not likely if he was a chronic drug abuser.
The only relevant facts are what transpired on the morning of the 25th June 2009. Murray gave Michael Propofol, left the room to phone his girlfriend, came back, delayed calling 911, did not tell the paramedics what he had given Michael and ordered the bodyguard to remove evidence from the room.
I was very disappointed that Piers allowed those Murray patients to sanctify him. Why? Michael Jackson has been crucified by the media and the haters since 1984! The media never allowed his fans – us – to come up on their shows to "defend" him.

Is there any possibility that MJ could possibly reside in peace? This sublime, magnificent, talented juggernaut, once in a millenium being ,albeit troubled will never be allowed one iota of privacy. Death cannot even silence the demons and we are demonic. We ,the lesser mortals , pass judgment because it is what we'do' best -because we do not 'do' we speak of things we do not know.
Could it not be a three-ring circus ? Could we not see the images of a fallen idol/king-the vulnerability-the sadness? Oh woe is us. How very sad for Michael's mother and his children-pray they are not at the trial.

America has lost a wonderful man. You lost someone more than a great artist. You lost a great man. Michael was misunderstood. Media must now fix it. For the good of us all. He served the people. He lived for the children. He dedicated his life for the good of the entire planet. He cared about each creature. He was a gift to the world. Heal the world.
Get to know Michael from the beginning. Get to know Michael.
