Lewis Black green room interview: "The opportunity for me to just yack, is good"

Following his interview with Piers Morgan (airing tonight, 9pm ET/PT), we caught up with Lewis Black for a brief chat in the Green Room.

Currently gearing up for his brand new comedy show, "Running on Empty!," Black explains why he routinely returns to "Piers Morgan Tonight":

"I'm amazed that anyone is interested in what I have to say. So, the opportunity for me to just yack, is good," insists Black. "Otherwise, I'm sitting at home doing my own interview."

During the chat, this prolific funny-man, actor, and standup explains why Morgan should continue hosting his show, and offers a surprise prediction, for the upcoming Republican nomination.

Watch the above clip, and tune in this evening for a primetime exclusive at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Lewis Black is awesome. It was pretty cool to see his buddy Kathleen Madigan tweeting in the background on the green room footage! That is a duo I would pay just about anything to see on tour together. Her light but informed political banter and his fierce but informed rants! Classic.

Piers, old chap, I'm a fan and not just because you're a Gooner BUT Bachman did an 8-2 on you today mate. You let her get to you and under your skin and prattle on and on and on- and do it content free! Next time do a 5-2, approach it as you would St. Totteringham's Day.

    Hello Mr Morgan,

Which law does allow President to make that kind of mandate – healthcare does not –

I am so disappointed that you are letting her lie that way without challenging her.

Ms Bachman keeps say ing that all women have access to contraceptives. Yes, if they can afford them. If they weren't coevered by health insurance policies, the women who most need them could not afford them.
She has opted to be on the publc eye and should expect to be confronted. Not so for Ms Fluke.

You and Lewis Black sat there and made fun of and were very very judgemental on Both Kirk Cameron and Michelle. Shame on you... you both did exactly what you accuse conservatives of. Kirk Cameron did never once say he hated anyone. You should be ashamed but all of America got to see what self righteous jerks you two were.

That was my very thought. Piers was stating we should be tolerant of others and their beliefs but when Black came on to interview, I saw no tolerance as he joined in with Black bashing others beliefs.

Totally agree and very disappointed as I thought Peirs was evolving in to a more honest, genuine man. Interesting that he didn't ask Lewis what he thought of Bill Maher's comments night after night. Limbaugh's comments are like what would come out of the mouth of a 15 year old. And Maher's comments. Maybe he's been told by CNN that he needs to score more points with those on the left. His response to Breitbart's death may have put him in the hot seat.

and you had the UNABASHED GALL to say you are "Middle of the road" guy.............I have never been so disgusted by an interview. Except when you were doing the EXACT same thing when your government was trying to get the TRUTH about your OWN Wiretaping and recording conversations without peoples knowledge. HYPOCRITE!!! PHONEY!!! and most of all You are GUTLESS! A complete worm. Come to think of it. Would you do me a favor? One night on your show, could you please stand up? I just want to see if you have a SPINE!

Piers and Lewis know nothing about Christianity. And Piers is lying when he says Cameron hates gays. He never said it and never inferred it. Christians hate sin, not people. You Piers are a hypocrite. You expect tolerance except when it comes to Christianity. You sir do not tolerate Christians. When you ask someone what they believe and they do not answer the way you want them to, you take offense. It is YOU who are intolerant. Read the Bible and find out what it really says. And read it with your friend Lewis.

Piers can you tell me where in your interview with Kirk Cameron he said that he 'hated those people'? That was what you said in your heated exchange with Lewis Black tonight. Also, why exactly can everyone else's agenda have airtime but Christians are lambasted when we talk about our beliefs. We have the same rights as everyone else, at least we used to.

    Let the guests talk.
Go back and watch Larry do it.
Be silent, let the guest get a word in edgewise.

Thank God for free speech. We can all give our "opinions" about EVERYTHING. And for some reason we ALL think we SHOULD! I just like the funny. Lewis Black is the man. His political rants are what make me adore him. But it is entertainment. Nobody in their right mind would change their political views because of anything Morgan,Bachman or Black says. She is out of the race so who cares what she thinks. ALL OF THEIR VIEWS ARE ENTERTAINMENT. If people laughed more and complained less our nation would heal.

Morgan, you proved again that you are a pathetic propagandist for Obama and the state controlled media. Your attempts to set up Congresswoman Bachman with such loaded irrelevant questions were so obvious and your rude reaction when she refused to be baited by you made you look like the socialist fool you are. By the way, birth control pills and morning after pills have serious side affects which you liberals are covering up and these pills are not recommended by experts to treat ovarian cysts, contrary to what Fluke stated. Fluke knows nothing about what she was testifying.

Thank God we have men that think they're experts on female reproduction and or medical conditions. Estrogen and progestin birth control pills prevent ovulation. Functional ovarian cysts do not form without ovulation. So some forms of birth control CAN help control the growth of ovarian cysts. I really don't care where or how Fluke gets her birth control. Not sure how I feel about government paying. But I do think that private insurances should pay for it with patient paid copay.

Experts disagree about the use of birth control pills to shrink and eliminate ovarian cysts that have already formed. Some studies show that the cysts shrink at the same rate with or without birth control pill use.2

But there are many disadvantages too while taking birth control pills. In many cases though not in every one but many might fee.

        What are the disadvantages?

        1. Irregular bleeding
        2. A feeling of nausea and vomiting
        3. Weight gain
        4. An unnatural swelling in the breast and tenderness
        5. Depression
        6. Headaches
        7. High blood pressure
        8. Dizziness

Though birth control pills do help in preventing cysts yet it is not the ultimate solution. There have been cases where in spite of taking birth control pills cysts have occurred. And birth control pills can't actually cure the cysts. In fact the conventional treatments only try to cure the symptoms rather than trying to reach and eliminate the root cause of these ovarian cysts.

The holistic approach tries to eliminate the root causes of the ovarian cysts and thus eliminating every symptom in the process. The holistic approach is gaining more and more popularity also because of the absence of any side effects or disadvantages. The holistic approach tries to achieve not only physical health but also takes care of the mental and spiritual health of the person. The holistic approach believes in an over all approach. Since there are various causes of ovarian cysts, the holistic approach brings an emotional, physical and mental balance and thus eliminating the causes that lead to the cysts.

Breast cancer risk may be slightly increased by the Pill for women with a family history of breast cancer.5 Women who have a personal history of breast cancer should not take the Pill. If you're considering hormonal birth control, let your health professional know if you have any family history of breast cancer.

Other factors to consider include the following:
Birth control pills may not be as effective when combined with other medications. Be sure to tell your health professional or pharmacist that you are taking birth control pills whenever you get a new prescription. The herbal medication St. John's wort also makes birth control pills less effective. Be sure to tell your health professional about all medications and supplements you are taking when starting hormonal birth control.6
After stopping high-dose birth control pill use in order to start a planned pregnancy, it may take longer to become pregnant than after stopping use of a low-dose pill, diaphragm, or intrauterine device (IUD).7
If you are taking birth control pills, take special precautions for backup birth control if you miss or skip pills.
Birth control pills may not be as effective if you are vomiting or have diarrhea. Use another method of birth control for 7 days after vomiting or diarrhea, even if you have not missed any pills.
The pill and the patch may not work as well if you are overweight (body mass index greater than 25).8, 9 If you are overweight, ask your doctor about which birth control methods are right for you.

The most serious side effect associated with the birth-control pill is a greater chance of blood clots, stroke and heart attack. These problems occur in only a small number of women who take the pill. Women who have the most risk of developing these problems are women who smoke, are over thirty-five and women with other health problems such as diabetes, high blood pressure, heart or vascular disease or blood cholesterol and triglyceride abnormalities. Other serious side effects are worsening of migraine headaches, gall bladder disease, increase in blood pressure and an extremely rare liver tumor. Some birth-control pills may cause changes in the levels of fatty substances in the blood. The long-term consequences of these changes are not known. Regular check-ups are important for early detection of these problems.

You are correct sir. There are many side effects. As there are with many other medications that we use daily. Holistic remedies included. I do not contend that there are not risks. But there are also benefits. It should be the choice of the woman under her doctors supervision. To control and monitor the side effects. I am not if we should use government funds to supply birth control. But I do think that private insurance should have a cap on their premiums so that low and moderate income families can afford proper healthcare. Including birth control if they choose. That is really what should be at the forefront.

Piers, I was watching the program until I had to yell at the television and turn the channel when you said Kirk Cameron "hates" gays to Mr. Black. I did not get that from him he did not tell you or anyone that.

I don't care about the issue or Kirk Cameron, but I do care when high profile media members say things that aren't true.

You aren't doing yourself any good if people watching feel forced to change the channel when they are hoping to be entertained.

CNN has an agenda. It is a pro gay agenda. CNN is a baby's breath from being MSNBC. There is no way to get an un-biased opinion about ANYTHING. CNN & MSNBC push their left wing point of view. Fox and Rush push there right wing point of view. How un-biased can an organization be that FIRED Rick Sanchez for offering up an honest, truthful, view on the news of the day?

I have really enjoyed Pierce hosting his show however, this evening I listened closely to the many times he so rudely interrupted his guest Michelle Bachman and the nature in which he rudely pushed for an anwser that she clearly stated many times she was not going to address. How embarrassing that someone of his professional status and experience had to have the guest take the lead in directing the interview. HIs body language was also quite telling that he did not respect some of her comments. BTW, I didn't want to watch your interview with Kirk Cameron as I could already tell the negative direction you would take it. Sure hope things improve tomorrow night.
Pierce I think you are a more skilled and pleasant host than you clearly demonstrated tonight. I hope this is not an indication of where you are headed with the show. It will be a complete turn off for many of your viewers. I think we are looking for a fair, unbiased and entertaining interview each time you meet with your guest. We have enough of the cram it down your throat media.

Pierce you have it all wrong on gay marriages. First of all america was a god fearing nation, One Nation Under God. God does not accept gay marriage. If you want to accept Gay marriage why not accept marriage between a man and 2 women at same time or a woman and two men after all we need to more acceptable to different views.

I have up to last evening, considered you one of the best interviewers in the business. Since you took over, we probably watch your show 3-4 nights a week. Your interview with Michelle Bachman last night was clearly the low point of your short career here in the states. You were condescending, rude and interupted her like I have never seen you do before. Deplorable conduct. Bigoty and expression of beliefs are not synonomous. Patronizing her as 'I was raised a Catholic' said nothing for your credibility. We have lost all sense of objective truth or even respect for religious truth in this world. I suggest you give some thought to your lack of civility to her given how you are willing to be quite open and accepting to all others who come on your show with opposite views.

Piers, you made fun of Christians last night. I'm not a Bachmann fan nor supporter. But in your interview with Lewis Black you were very negative about Christians. Would you do the same in regard to other groups? Muslims? Gays/Lesbians? My guess the answer is 'no.'

he use of St. John’s wort dates back to the ancient Greeks. Hippocrates recorded the medical use of St. John’s wort flowers. St. John’s wort was given its name because it blooms about June 24th, the birthday of John the Baptist. “Wort” is an old English word for plant.:-,..
