On Wednesday night, "Piers Morgan Tonight" welcomed actor and screenwriter Billy Bob Thornton for a candid and genuine interview.
During his interview with Piers Morgan, Thornton talked about how social media and the system are taking over:
“The system has always found a way to control people, and I think this time they’ve done it by selling them things that make them feel accepted, loved, and important. Everyone should feel that but I think they should feel it through natural things.”
Thornton went on to draw the contrast between how people used to interact and how the system is making it difficult to continue doing things the same way – something he talks about in his book "The Billy Bob Tapes: A Cave Full of Ghosts."
"When it becomes a tool for people's hatred and jealousy – we're losing the magic in life because people aren't communicating and they're not going through the process of life," Thornton said.
Also on Wednesday, the CEO of Avenue Capital Group Marc Lasry spoke with Piers Morgan about Facebook, its IPO, and whether the company is worth $100 billion:
"The question is going to be two or three years from now is the valuation today the right valuation."
Lasry also went on to talk about his support for President Obama:
"I personally don't have an issue with paying higher taxes."
Watch the clips, and listen to the interviews, as Thornton and Lasry share their own opinions.
