On Thursday, Piers Morgan used his "Only in America" segment to address the shocking video of middle school students viciously tormenting their school bus monitor, Karen Klein.
The 68-year-old grandmother "sat, utterly defenseless, as kid after kid insulted and ridiculed her with vile outbursts."
"They laughed, they snickered, they taunted, they mocked. And they continued even as the poor woman cried," Morgan remarked with disgust.
Even as Morgan watched the horrible video he is hopeful and inspired. "Parents everywhere have been reacting not just with shock and horror to the video – but with money." said Morgan, noting a silver lining in Klein's horrible experience.
However, although the monetary gift was "an incredible gesture that restores faith in the human spirit," Morgan emphasized that "money alone won't change what happened, or heal the scars."
If you're a parent, Piers suggests playing the full ten-minute video for your children to watch.
"Make them understand what bullying really is, and the effect such cowardly abuse can have."
To close out the segment Morgan notes, "real Americans don't behave like this."
