Coming up tonight at 9 p.m. Piers Morgan welcomes Rielle Hunter for a candid face to face conversation, touching upon everything from her extramarital affair with John Edwards, to any remorse she has, or apologies she'd like to offer.
Joining "Piers Morgan Tonight" in her first cable interview, the 48-year-old reveals intimate details about her romantic relationship with the former North Carolina senator:
"You've made no secret of it, being the best sex of your life, have you?" asks Morgan.
"Do you really think men cheat, for bad sex?" she answers back.
Tune in this evening at 9 p.m. as the author of the new book, "What Really Happened: John Edwards, Our Daughter, and Me," Hunter opens up about Frances Quinn, the love child of her affair with the former presidential candidate.

I love watching Piers, but could not watch Rielle Hunter tonight. I had seen her on ABC and she sickened me. I did not believe anything she said; she came across completely self-centered. Why does she need to insult John's family at this point? (John also is totally unbelievable, really fake).
This is the 1st time I have ever responded on the Internet to anything on T.V. Piers, you did a wonderful job of holding this woman accountable. She came across as devoid of true empathy...I feel sorry for her daughter.
I would not have usually watched an interview with Rielle, but just as I expected, she acted as if she were the injured bird when asked about the acts she outlined in her book. Her comment when shown a film clip of Edwards denying paternity of their child was "Oh great.", like this was somethng she did not expect to be discussed. Two faced and passive aggressive. Great interview questions by Piers. He did not play her softly. I think he was repulsed by Rielle like I was.
Pretty nice interview,don't think he was unfair,just precise and using her money maker book as a support .

Rielle Hunter aka Lisa Jo Druck is a vapid, heartless woman. Here is a woman who first has an affair with a married man whose wife has terminal cancer. Then, after the wife has passed away, she publicly trashes her. How much pain and embarrassment is Rielle Hunter going to continue to inflict on the deceased wife's two small children and one adult child? Hasn't she done enough damage to this family?
And ironically, Rielle Hunter claims John Edwards is not a "demon" yet proceeds to paint him out as a spineless man who can't stand up for himself and while cheating on his terminally ill wife, complained incessantly about how his wife was such a terrible person. WHO does that? John Edwards can forget about ever restoring his public image after the number Rielle Hunter has done on him with her book and interviews.

Probably one of the most honest answers to questions i have ever heard in a Piers Morgan interview. He just could not accept her answers. They did not give him enough "headlines".

Rielle Hunter absolutely shocked me with her interview tonight. Not only did she not take responsibility for her actions, but she has clearly shown how much of a "home wrecker" she is by her selfish actions and words. Her book is the biggest slap in the face towards Elizabeth Edwards, especially when all Ms. Hunter had to say was that Elizabeth's words about their affair, "made her sad". Great intv Piers.......you did everything to your guest Rielle Hunter except slather her in BBQ sauce......guest what, as a journalist it is not your job to be an aggressor.....you could have gotten so much more depth out of her for your viewers if you would have done your job and provided neutral space for the intv to develop.......this is why the ratings suck.

I have watched Pierce interview many controversial figures and his approach in this interviewis angry and way out of balance. That was a terrible interview. What gives Piers Morgan the right to attack someone to give him a "good" interview. It felt very contentious and quite honestly she was in control....he certainly was not. There is a way to make your guest feel comfortable enough to share information...he just tried to back her into a corner and she was not going to give him anything. Obviously he knows nothing about strong women.... I think he was showing that he was angry???!!! What a joke. This was not his tragedy, it was theirs.

How, in any way is Rielle Hunter strong? It doesn't take much strength to lie on your back and cheat on your husband. Rielle Hunter is painful to watch and a complete moron. And Piers, you missed your biggest opportunity – she said she doesn't believe in infidelity (re: her husband). She goes on to say that John's responsible for the affair; that she didn't go to his hotel room with any intention and yet hadn't she earlier said to him, "You're hot!"? And Piers, why didn't you look up fertility statistics at her age? The probablility of natural conception at 43 is less than 2%. I would hypothesize that she was trying hard to have his baby. I feel for her daughter – starting life with this gene pool is frightening.
Watched (tried) her on the View, ended up shouting at the TV! Again she got the same response on tonight's interview, with the exception of what did come clear, and that is that the only reason she did her book and wanted to put the "truth"out there is on how HER daughter would have to deal with it in years to come. How sad that she did not consider Elisabeth's children! Disgusting couple!

Brilliant interviewing. Rielle was a terrified deer looking into the headlights. She brought this on herself and is turning a quick profit out of the misery she caused. At least her consistently dishonest evasive responses confirmed the type of person she is. She is a walking role model of what not to do with your life. Very sad she caused pain to so many.
Hope her story serves as a lesson in how your actions don't just affect your own life but the lives of loved ones and so many others. No matter how sorry she is the consequences for her choices will affect the Edwards children and their love child. Very sad. She and John are very selfish, self centered people. It seemed Piers had a hard time warming up to a very cold woman.
What's truly amazing about this woman is that she keeps saying that she wrote this book so that the 'truth' could be told for her child and for the children of John and Elizabeth..... who is she fooling? This was the most painful interview I have ever watched – I could have turned it off but I kept hoping something she said would a) be normal or b) she would walk off and do us all a favor. I think Mr. Edwards should be held to the higher standard. He was married!!! She was single!!! Does not make it right, but all people make mistakes. Pierce was trying to make headlines with gossip and junk reporting and Miss Hunter tried to keep him in check seeing she was there to talk about her book not to be dragged through the mud!!!. Please people get a grip and stop believing in all the hype you hear on radio and tv. Remember unless you think you are GOD like YOU cannot sit in judgment of anything or anyone.

Sorry, Piers, it was a horrible interview. I watch you all the time, and you did your best to ask questions to hold her accountable. Let's face it, she's not ready for prime time. She can barely put enough words together to make a sentence. I saw her on The View and her responses were similar-a few words here and there but nothing coherent. Can't speak in sentences. Too bad the book publisher sent her out on this book tour-given her age, she's immature and isn't ready for prime time. Wouldn't waste the money or time on this book. We all know what happened! Nobody knows what problems or difficulties that may have existed in Edward's marriage, the pressure of her illness, or the pressure of his candidacy. Marriage under those pressures has got to be really difficult and I think if Edward's children have been able to stand by him, the rest of us should get off of our high horse and give Edwards a little rhythm for being human. It doesn't surprise me that most of the negative comments about Ms. Hunter come from females because she is probably fairly threatening because she's pretty and in great shape!

Trish4Real, you are only validating what Dan said by taking his statements personally. So what if he thinks that she is pretty? Does that make you ugly or something? He didn't say that women who were ugly didn't like her looks because she is pretty, he said that they felt jealous because she is pretty. I have see women, all of whom are attractive, behaving in the most vindictive ways towards other women that are also attractive. Women do that. Don't know what their reasons are for it; but it happens. Whatever the reasons are, they do nothing but cause contention outside of the woman or women from which the jealousy emanates and the taget of that jealousy. How does that make any sense or help any of the women feel attractive to the point that they could even recognize it if they were told they are attractive? I don't even like Piers and this woman is unimportant to me. What does bother me is that, as Dan said, when there is news coverage about a physically attractive woman, women commentors turn very evil. It doesn't matter if the news is positive or negative, the comments from a lot of the women are very very negative. How they dre, hair, make-up, body, you name it. It all becomes subject matter for heinous attacks. Don't get me started on the psych evaluations going around. Piers' interview with Janet Jackson got sort of disrespectful if you ask me. He tends to go into things that are just rude to dig at and he does dig and pry. John cheated with this girl, and she has a book and shows no remorse. I don't care how nice Edward's wife seemed on interviews. I really don't. None of that makes her a nice person, and like it or not, even with having cheated, what is John's wife's excuse for whatever lead to her husband's cheating because there are reasons for cheating to happen that come from both sides. I don't feel sympathetic to any party here; but this desire to jump in and choose sides is bothersome, and I see it revolving around exactly the topic that Dan talks about. Was he right to generalize like that? No; but...it does beg the question, why this kind of response from ladies? If it's trash on the tv that you are talking about, especially someone else's trash, why get worked up about it? She's not after your man. You are obviously not unnattractive and threatened by that thing with the blonde hair. So what's the problem?

She sat there and kept denying that she wrecked that marriage. She is 50% of the reason that marriage failed since it takes two to tango. The evil agnostic, who has no right to believe or disbelieve in the man-created "God", also has no right to such instant condemnations – and lack of even the most basic fellow-feeling. But the religious person KNOWS – and therefore condemns. They needn't indulge in the messy shades of grey compassion entails, since their God will always forgive them for any judgments of others. No one will ever know or understand what brings people to leave their family obligations. But Pierce Morgan was in my opinion shamefully playing a member of the inquisition when interviewing Ms. Hunter and placing blame on her as having been the instrument in the brake-up of the marriage of John Edward's marriage. His facial expression was that of a parent admonishing his child for wrong doing. I believe that was shameful. CNN needs to be careful about keeping persons like Mr. Morgan who may not be a neutral and emotionally and intellectually stable as the CNN team needs to be to stay ahead of the the rest.

Regardless of her Idiot or not status (I am no fan of rielle or John Edwards) From the moment he began the introduction of Hunter and through his line of questioning, his hostility was apparent. Real journalists who want the story do not go on the attack as the person you are interviewing will retreat. Even his facial expressions displayed disdain. Piers was admonishing and Parental acting like the judge and jury. He broke some fundamental laws of good journalism .... He became the story.

Even if Morgan was an original personality, an interview show that's more about the interviewer ultimately serves little purpose beyond the vulgar self-aggrandizing he displayed. You're also right to point out that he does not behave that way to those "above" him. They are people with far more deviously cut-and-thrust tactics in their pasts, than a mere extra-marital affair – and without them, he wouldn't have a job.
