Mahmoud Ahmadinejad: "Homosexuality ceases procreation...proper education must be given"

Coming up this evening at 9 p.m., Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad sits down with Piers Morgan for an exclusive hour-long interview that airs on the backdrop of this week's United Nations General Assembly meeting.

As part of a conversation that covers everything from politics to love, and Israel to Libya, the "Piers Morgan Tonight" host also inquires about social issues, including homosexuality:

"Shouldn’t freedom and individuality and all those things also extend to people who just happen to be gay? Who were born gay. They weren’t made gay," says Morgan. "Wouldn’t it be great for the President of Iran to say you know something, everyone’s entitled to be whatever sexuality they are born to be? That would be a great symbol of freedom."

"Do you really believe that someone is born homosexual?" says Iran's 6th president, answering a question with one of his own. "I’m sorry. Let me ask you this. Do you believe that anyone is giving birth through homosexuality? Homosexuality ceases procreation. Who has said that if you like or believe in doing something ugly, and others do not accept your behavior, that they’re denying your freedom?"

"You are a father of three children," the host continues. "You have two sons and a daughter, what would you do if one of them was gay?"

Speaking through a translator, the 55-year-old former engineer and teacher shares his perspective:

"Proper education must be given," says Ahmadinejad. "If a group recognizes an ugly behavior or ugly deed as legitimate, you must not expect other countries or other groups to give it the same recognition."

Watch the clip, and listen to the interview, then tune in this evening at 9 p.m. as Ahmadinejad reveals Iran's plan upon facing a potential attack from Israel, and also shares his analysis of the recent unrest in Libya that led to the killing of Ambassador Christopher Stevens.

Anyone that says being gay is a choice is pretty much saying that they, themselves could choose to be gay if they wanted to. That argument makes no sense! If being gay is a choice, when did all the "straight" people choose to be straight?!?!!??

Did you know the Roman Catholic Church use to Castrate choir boys as late as the 1900's ? Piers did you ever ask the Pope or any world leaders about there view on this sick, barbaric that was a part of the church doctorin?

"Pope Clement VIII became smitten with the sweetness and flexibility of their voices. ... While some Church officials suggested it would be preferable to lift the ban on women singers than to continue endorsing the castration of little boys, with the blessing of the Pope."
Paul, 'Let women be silent in the assemblies, for it is not permitted to them to speak.' ... since it was illegal to perform castrations, ... all castrati presenting themselves for the choir boys claimed to have lost their genitals through tragic 'accident'."

"After the Pope’s official acknowledgement and acceptance of castrati, the number of these "accidents" increased dramatically. Parents seeking upward mobility towed their little lads down to a barber or butcher who separated them from their testicles for a fee.

Freedom of Speech will make sense if Ahmadinejad would let that happen in IRAN , but since it is a complete dictatorship why do they give him the opportunity to lye to millions of people very freely . why Mr Morgan didn't ask him about all the problems in IRAN ,with number of facts and easy prove that there are people getting killed and tortured in iran that he could put him on the spot . i still appreciate him putting ahmadinejad on the corner few times but not enough for public to know who he really is

Who are the millions of " indecent" people he has killed? Just asking?
I have always wondered why it is perfectly ok for Israel and the US to have nuclear weapons , but no other country is allowed develop them ? Does anyone, in the US in particular, ever really wonder why so much of the Arab world has such animosity towards the West – could it be that the US completely align themselves with Israel no matter how much Israelis have slaughtered and taken over Palestinian land and continue to make refugees of so many people taken from their homeland. Read 'Mornings in Jenin". For another perspective. I am certainly no fan of Ahmadinejad, and I admire Piers for trying to get a glimpse into the man who seems to be the devil incarnate, we'll done Piers. It was very enlightening, but I hope the translator did the man justice??

Why would you not let him speak? I think Ahmedinejad is a POS as you put it but we value freedom of speech. It's good for the public to hear his views on everything even if they are backwards. He mostly made himself look worse anyways!

The most idiotic thing ever said: "Single women in iran cannot ski". First of all, you can find many videos of single iranian women ski on youtube. If that's not enough, my cousins (all single women) ski every week during some seasons.

Who has said a single woman can not ski in Iran? What kind of question is that? As a media, you guys better do some research before bringing it up to public and broadcasting it!!!! By the way, allowing women to ski in Iran is not even related to being allowed to be gay... He was right, 2 different types of question. Please do not make people believe in false assumptions. Women even single or married can ski freely in Iran.

During 19 centuries, catholic church had castrated thousands of young kids from age 6 to 9 ! and guess why?
Just in order to have nice soprano voices for the choir !!!
In Italy 9 thousand kids were castrated annually by the church, they castrated them with hot water and knives !!
When they become adults they call them castrato.

Even the brother of present Pope Benedict 16 had recognized that he was used to slap kids to show them how to sing to the Lord, while others priests was abusing LEGALLY poor innocent kids.
How could this ever happen?? Why in Christianity being Gay is a sin? Yet castrating and making a boy a eunuch is accepted by the church?

Disappointing interview with Ahmaddinejad. Mr. Morgan's questions were old and embarrassing for the President and we learnt nothing new about Iran. Why not ask him questions about life, culture, education, healthcare in Iran? What are their biggest internal problems, acomplishments? Mr. Morgan gets an F!

I believe that we must see the root of the problems in third world or progressing countries that are trying to build themselves up and be independent. There may be apparently some dictatorship in Iran, but it is needed for the time being as the superpowers (especially USA and its allies) are working day and night to destabilize these countries and hook o by crook take their resources away. A deep insight into the problems at any part of the world comes to be the result of infiltration of USA intelligence directly or indirectly. So Iran is doing well for the time being and is not threat to anyone. Moreover there is no absolute freedom in any part of the world even in USA. Torturing, killing thousands of innocent people by the name of stopping terrorism is not freedom too.

Proper education must be given! Eg: makeup and proper facial care. If a group recognizes an ugly person as legitimate, you must not expect other countries or other groups to give it the same recognition. Beauty is in the face of the beholder!!

gee no wonder CNN has lost most of its viewers, I can´t believe they let someone as boring and brain-dead like Piers Morgan make this interview, he made many of the same questions done to this loon years ago (see larry kings interview of 2008) and we got the same Non-answers and dodging. I seriously he asked this guy about his love-life? about if woman in Iran can go to ski?. What about the effect of the sanctions imposed to iran?, the difficulty of selling iranian oil? their decaying infraestructure? they support to Assad´s regime? . Why the hell even let this lunatic appear on tv when he is only a pupet of the ayatola Khamenei.
