Michael Moore on Chris Christie and Barack Obama in New Jersey: "What did Mitt Romney piss off Governor Chris Christie?"

On Wednesday evening, "Piers Morgan Tonight" welcomed filmmaker and documentarian Michael Moore back to the program for his trademark straight-talk commentary and unique political insight.

Earlier in the afternoon, New Jersey's Chris Christie hosted Barack Obama, as the pair toured parts of the Garden State, surveying the damage stemming from Superstorm Sandy. As the governor and president generally sit on opposite sides of the aisle, Moore noted how odd it felt seeing the pair so united:

"It was kind of shocking to see Governor Christie over and over and over again, on show after show after show, heighten his love each time he went on a different show, for President Obama," said Moore.

Over the past year, the public relationship between the governor and the president has been less than cordial, with Christie, as described by Morgan, "burying – verbally – President Obama." Traditionally a staunch Mitt Romney advocate, one wonders how the recent kinship between the Democratic president and GOP surrogate might play politically:

"I think Governor Christie and President Obama both looked very sincere and very concerned," said Moore. "And the cynic would say, what did Mitt Romney do in the last couple of weeks to piss off Governor Chris Christie, because this - because he didn't - he [Christie] didn't have to go the extra mile or actually extra ten miles that he went."

Watch the clip, and listen to the interview, as "Piers Morgan Tonight" continues to detail the devastation and recovery efforts underway in New Jersey following Superstorm Sandy.

I was watching your interview last night with Michael Moore and the interview with the Hospital director and though you were trying to get a bad reaction from him. You kept pushing the 'lack of readiness' issue with the director and didn't understand that there was no way for them to have thought that they weren't prepared. Hindsight is 20/20 yet your questioning was in a line without truly understanding the problem. The main thing is that the patients were being taken care of and not being euthanized as they were during Katrina! I also agree with Mr. Moore that seeing your reporter being blown about in Atlantic City and not other places that were also having problems, ie. Breezy PoInt or Long Beach was not showing the complete story as you would have wanted the viewers to believe. You can ask the hard questions but be fair.

That's Morgan's MO, dig and dig to find the dirt on his perceived "enemy". The only enemy here is Morgan, go back across the pond, and take the anti-American Zakaria with you.

Spot on Claudia! I can't stand Piers Morgan's arrogance, defending bad press in a completely disrespectful way, The media is a Joke, they don't get it! What else do we need to go thru for them to connect with humanity and common sense? They speak on behalf of money and the powerful, it's very sad!

I agree Claudia. Pier Morgan's coverage of Sandy was very disappointing, with so much emphasis on criticizing and digging rather than celebrating the heroic acts at the hospital and the bi-partisan rescue and relief efforts. Piers had a chance to take the high road and inspire us this week, but instead he took the gutter. His tabloid background really came through and it diminished him as a journalist. I've always enjoyed his accent, but this week all I could think was – he's not American. I'll still watch CNN, but going forward will change channels when Piers comes on.

I hope Obama wins, it took 4 years to recover from Bush, A vote for Romney is a vote for fat cat rule, believe me, if you thought bush was bad, wait and see what Romney does...who he needs to pay for their support... and the hurt You will be in for. Vote Obama and I believe in less then a year, America will once again be a remarkably wonder-filled place to live.

It's very likely you also believe in the Tooth Fairy and the Easter Bunny too.

America has been a "wonder-filled place to live" these past 4 years too. Everyone kept wondering where the jobs were that Obama promised. A Romney win is the only cure for the sickness that is Obama Liberalism.

Does anyone care what Michael Moore has to say about anything? And CNN would be better suited reporting about why our people in Benhgazi were left on their own without any sort of protection in such a hostile environment. There are many questions about this event that should be answered before the election and any 'news' agency that is seriously interested in supplying answers for the American people shpuld be all over this demanding answers from this administration.

What the Benhgazi failure by the Obama administration has done, is to blatantly review the outright partisanship of the mainstream media, as they continue to suppress this headline story. It is waking up even the most unaware Americans to just how prejudicial for Obama the media has been over the past 4 years. In fact, it is so blatant that there may be a public backlash, that will force legislatures to enact new constraints regarding how the media is ALLOWED to cover elections, campaigns. The only cure is to take away the $$$ that funnels into the media's coffers from all the special interest groups and PACs. Cut off the $$$, and the serpent will die. Big Bird has left the building...Time for Obama to follow him.

It has been awesome to see Governor Christie and President Obama working together and showing support for our COUNTRY. It was a rare glimpse of nonparisanship, and a welcoming one. If we can have more cooperation between our two parties, or country can return to the once wonderful country the world looks up to...

Amen. Even though I can't stand Obama, I agree completely this is what our country needs. It's simple, our leaders working together as they used to do so that we will be united again, even in our differences.

Nothing of the sort, and no I didn't like Bush either. For Obama it's because he's a Marxist, has surrounded himself by Marxists, terrorists (Ayers, Wright, Farrahkan) and race-baiters and has divided this nation instead of uniting it. As his own former college roommates have stated, Obama is NOT a uniter. He was raised in Indonesia and mentored by a Marxist. Even if he means well, his tendencies are to what he learned growing up and toward those he surrounds himself with.

He took our young to a war and returned them back in Bodybag. Bush should be charged for War Crime. Bush is not any difrent to Romney. Romney will take our country to war with Iran and moved his money to Israil. Romney wants to do away with FEMA. You must be sitting pretty with Donal Trump ( 1 percent ) shame on you.

If the Commander or actually Campaigner in Chief wanted to do something, he would have the Armed forces, with their giant helicopters fly in generators, supplies, water pumps, food etc. Also send National Guard with big trucks from unaffected states. He could also try, on the side, protecting Americans, on American soil.

It would seem Gov. Chrsitie likes the President because the President holds all the "disaster fund" cards. What good would it do to praise Mitt Romney? It's the current administration that will assist with rebuilding New Jersey. Just seems a no-brainer that Gov. Christie would praise the current administration at this time.

Am I the only one that can see Gov. Christie's self-supporting actions here? I like the guy, but he is obviously pushing for Obama to win next Tuesday; and with good reason. Gov. Christie wants to run for President. If Pres.Obama wins the re-election, Gov. Christie can run in 2016, but, if Romney wins, Gov. Christie will have to wait until 2020 to run.

CNN is the last truly fair and balanced network. The Republican/FOX party knows Obama is going to win but they are burying this story as well as the Bloomberg endorsement. Christie and Bloomberg are men of integrity and could never ethically support a weasel like romney. It's not always easy to do what's right but great men rise to the occasion.

FOX news is not even news anymore. The are the Republican Lap Dog Network.

Piers, First on your show you praise Gov. Christie for being a good guy and standing up for the State of NJ then you back stab him stating he is hurting Romney for praising Obama during this crisis. Its a President helping a Governor and State in need...... If Obama is being responsive to the needs of the storm, as he should that's fine . But it still does not erase the failures of the past 4 years.

Consider this: The photo op in Brigantine was positioned on an island with only one bridge in or out that was closed near a backdrop of a bird santuary jetting out to sea. Okay Christie and Obama did visit a center housing strays that were supposed to evacuate; that was probably ALL the people that were on the island at that time. To me, that's about as out of touch as you can get. Christie HAD to play by the rules to get the $$$$$ or else.

Obama and Christie did what was right for America!!! What are you complaining about? If Romney had been Pres and he did what he said he would do, he would leave it to the State of New Jersey to clean up the mess. Obama is good through and through and it is because of an obstructive Rep. Congress we have not progressed more than we have. I am white!
