• Hiring increases, unemployment up in U.S.: "Hiring was surprisingly strong in October, while the unemployment rate ticked higher, according to a report released just four days before the presidential election."
• Mitt Romney tries to put Pennsylvania in play: "In a late campaign push to change the battleground map, Mitt Romney will travel to Pennsylvania on Sunday in the hopes of capturing the traditionally Democratic-leaning state. A Romney campaign official confirmed to CNN the GOP nominee will stop in the Philadelphia area Sunday afternoon."
• Areas hit by Sandy sputter back to life: "At every turn, there are signs that storm-ravaged cities along the East Coast are sputtering back to life despite numerous challenges, including fuel and food shortages, and lack of electricity to more than 3.3 million customers in 15 states and D.C."
