• Alabama wins its third BCS title in four years: "Alabama's 42 to 14 thrashing of Notre Dame in Monday night's BCS National Championship game was the Crimson Tide's second in a row. It is also Alabama's third national title in the last four years."
• Cyanide linked to $1 million lottery winner's death: "The Cook County medical examiner's office initially ruled Urooj Khan's manner of death natural. But after being prompted by a relative, the office revisited the case and eventually determined there was a lethal amount of cyanide in Khan's system."
• Rioting rocks Belfast for 5th night amid Union flag protests: "Police and their vehicles were attacked with petrol bombs, hatchets and sledgehammers in East Belfast as rioting broke out in Northern Ireland for a fifth consecutive night, police said Tuesday."
• Netflix, Time Warner strike new content deal: "Users will be able to stream complete seasons of several series produced by Warner Bros., including NBC's "Revolution" and USA Network's "Political Animals," according to a statement issued by Time Warner on Monday."
• Gabrielle Giffords and husband launch anti-gun violence site: "Former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords and her husband Mark Kelly launched a website aimed at curbing gun violence Tuesday, the second anniversary of the mass shooting in Arizona that left her critically wounded."

I truly think Piers Morgan did an excellent thing last night bringing on Alex Jones. Piers brought on Jones for a purpose- to make an example out of Jones. He let Jones rant nonsense through the whole show. It convinced me of the danger of paranoid gunslingers such as Alex Jones who don't understand the necessity to remove military grade rifles and ammunition from the streets. He reminded me of a guy who speaks loudly to veil the fact that he is a moron, because yelling Zedong and Hitler had guns makes me doubt his intellect. Alex Jones obviously wanted a reaction from Morgan, which he never got, after which he proceeded to imitate his accent. Utterly disgusting. For a moment, it made me ashamed to be an American, and a Texan, after watching Jones. I wonder if Jones would yell the same things in the face of a parent who lost their child in Newtown??
Of the 11,000 deaths by gun that Piers brought up, OVER 600 were police officers shooting people. That is direct from the FBI. So basically, Piers is full of it.
I doubt if this will get to Mr. Morgan but I am trying anyway. I read in today's newspaper where a Muslim woman (citizen of England) beat her son to death (yes, beat her son to death) because he was not able to memorize a passage of the Quran as fast as she thought he should ?? She was tried and convicted in an English court and sentenced to 17 years in prison. (Yes, only 17 years in prison for a brutal murder.) Mr. Morgan, a guest in the United States, is so determine to undermine the 2nd Amendment that he occasionally overlooks what is happening in his homeland. Check out Texas, there is a convicted female murderer scheduled for the needle later this month. She will receive justice unlike the woman in England whose lawyer plead the usual insanity case on her behalf to avoid it. What of her son? I don't see Mr. Morgan or his English bretheren ranting and raving on TV over a 7 year old English child being brutally murdered. In truth, aren't all murderers insane? If america practiced English law, there would be over 100,000 convicted murderes out of jail prowwling the streets. How would Mr. MOrgan explain that away?
Just saw Piers on CBS morning show. We don't get his CNN show here on free to air T.V. and I don't know if he has used the Australian statistics along with the British ones as a valid argument for the restricted sale and ownership of semi-automatic assault weapons by civilians. Our laws were introduced by a Conservative Prime Minister (surprise surprise) who is a close friend of George W. Bush soon after the murder of 35 people in a mass shooting in Tasmania in 1996. The event in Tasmania raised the issue why there should be a valid reason for a member of the general public to own a military style weapon whether it is part of their rights or not. The following discussions found that a valid reason did not and should not exist. The statistics prove Australians, along with British citizens, are much safer than we were before these laws were enacted. There are still robberies and murders, but gun involvement is virtually non-existent and like Britain, there have been no gun massacres since then. Our laws do not deny people the right to own certain guns, but they must prove that they are responsible and worthy enough to do so. I'm sure a shotgun or bolt action rifle is defense enough against perceived threats to your home or property, even in America, and there is nothing sporting about letting off 20 or 30 rounds from an assault weapon to kill a deer or other animal you are hunting. Those of you whom are howling for Pier's deportation for exercising his universal and international right to free speech, and demanding that you should be able to freely exercise you 2nd amendment rights, demonstrate that you are hypocrites and have not thought your argument through (because it is a flawed argument). The scare campaign by the NRA seems to be working, but bravo to Piers for trying to keep the issue alive in the minds of Americans. Winston Churchill once said "You can always rely on Americans to do the right thing; Once they have exhausted all the other options". Keep going Piers, I believe there are at least 20 million people on the other side of the Pacific who agree with you...

Rock on Alex Jones! You know what's so funny? Pig Cops want to take away our guns BECAUSE they are LOUSY shots! Half of them freeze up or are incompetent to begin with. I saw, the other day a cop shoot a police dog instead of his intended target (a shady black dude weilding a clearly visible semi-automatic pistol). Poor freaking dog! It made me so sad. The perp should have been shot, I do NOT fault the cops for that, I just fault them for their lousy aim! I am a better shot and have nothing but contempt for the majority of police, who are corrupt and moronic, just as my grandfather said (he was a cop for 10 years and resigned in disgust due to corruption).
