Clips From Last Night: LA Reid on "Kimye," Kerry Kennedy on gun culture in America
On Wednesday evening music giant LA Reid joined Piers Morgan in studio for a sit-down interview. The former "X Factor" judge talked about the industry, the Super Bowl and his recently announced Grammy Icon Award.
During the face to face conversation, Reid shared with the host his most memorable career moment to this point:
"Kanye West in my office rapping his entire album to me, just like we're sitting here," said Reid. "Incredible moment, like the highlight."
As for the effect of "Kimye," the romance between West and his pregnant celebutante girlfriend Kim Kardashian, Reid feels the publicity is "great for his [West's] brand."
"He [West] was already one of the greatest – if not the greatest – music makers alive. And now he is one of the most famous. What's wrong with that?"
Kerry Kennedy was also on the program Wednesday night, and spoke about the gun culture in America:
"I think we have to really start with the laws," she told the "Piers Morgan Tonight" host.
"It wasn't until the laws on drunk driving were enforced before people really took that seriously. And I think we need to start with an assault weapons ban and a ban on the high capacity magazines," noted Kennedy. "And then we need to look at our society and say, 'what are we doing?'"

So according Piers AR15s bullets can rip through concrete. Yes concrete! Wow! Now that Piers has been to a gun range he's a ballistics expert. More BS from Piers to try and further his cause. As an any Vietnam vet knows the 556 round (the 223 is the civilian version) under penetrates compared to AK47 round which certainly doesn't go through concrete.
Piers Morgan repeatedly asks the question "Why does any civilian need a military style weapon" Well Piers here is my simple answer, Reason number 1, in regard to self defense -You dont bring a knife to gun fight! To defend my family and home I want to be armed with power equal to that of the criminal who intend to bring harm. Gun bans in Chicago have done NOTHING to stop the criminals!
Reason #2 – Why does anyone "NEED a Ferrari that can be driven at speeds in excess of 200MPH? IT'snot a NEED, it's a powerful tool that responsible law abiding citizen own and drive for pleasure, Same with guns! Responsible ownership by law abiding citizens who enjoy and or feel secure owning quality products. BE it a gun, a car, of a bottle of 12 year old scotch.
Piers refuses to dicsuss Switzland. One of the most heavily armed civilian populations, yet it has the lowest gun murders per 100 people.
Piers is the ultimate Carpet Bagger! He is no Larry King. Piers is extremely rude, consistently interrupt he's guest (those that agree with him and those that dont) because he loves to hear his own voice. Larry King is a true talent he interviewed people, listened more then he talked, Piers spend the hour on his soapbox and franklyhis rude simpleminded comments (ie – you're stupid) are not welcome in my living room An outsider non citizen who wants to dictate to US citizens and US lawmakers what rights US citizens can and can't have and I for one resent it!!!
When discussing gun control that term in itself creates polarization.
Would the term GUN ABUSE deflate the polarization and provide a better forum for DIALOGUE.
This is the USA. The sooner you realize that "gun control" is as much of an oxymoron as "military intelligence"
(see- WMD or trailing of illegal guns across the border) or "government control" (see congress- nuff said?), only then will you find any context in which any issue can be intelligently addressed.
The CT shooter had broken 5 laws without adding more, as they would not have impacted prevention.
If my next door neighbor has an AR15 and large capacity clip, then it will continue to be my right to have one.
The time to have prohibited them was when they were legally marketed. In regard to second amendment rights, I would not want to try fighting an invading army with a shotgun.
More important than any gun discussion, has to be waking the media to thinking and not just marketing sound bytes.
If all those guns make you nervouse, how will you feel about cutting first responders, cutting back on homeland security and the military, while simultaneously touting enforcement of gun and immigration laws/border security and being poised to deal with radicals in Iran and North Korea instead of cutting the military.
Sure, spending needs to be addressed, but at what cost- plain poor judgement?
