Clips From Last Night: Donny Deutsch and his all-star panel talk pop music stars as role models and new accounts on the raid that killed Osama bin Laden

On Monday evening at 9, Donny Deutsch pulled up a familiar chair on the set of "Piers Morgan Tonight," making a fourth appearance as guest host of the primetime program. Debuting a new "9 at 9" format, the "Today" show contributor welcomed a gang of all-star personalities and pundits, inviting his panel to use the hour to digest and dissect some of the country's most-polarizing topics.

On the heels of Sunday's Grammy awards, which featured singer Rihanna appearing arm-in-arm with artist Chris Brown, the couple publicly displaying their rekindled romance despite Brown having been convicted of beating the singer on the eve of the 2009 Grammys, Deutsch asked his guests whether celebrities, particularly pop music stars, have an obligation to be role models.

"Yes," said guest Faith Salie. "Rihanna, if she doesn't want to be a role model, then she shouldn't have her own clothing line, which she does. She shouldn't have a perfume, which she does. She shouldn't be tweeting pictures of herself in Chris Brown's bed to her fans."

Guest Abby Huntsman agreed with Salie noting that, "She has a number of young girls, my younger sisters included, that love her. So, she is a role model to so many."

Also on topic, the recent publication of the profile article of the Seal Team Six Navy SEAL sniper who shot Osama bin Laden. Identified only as "The Shooter" in the Esquire magazine article, the profile contains a detailed account of the raid and its aftermath including the life of the SEALs themselves.

"I think the competition on the back end forced this guy [the Navy SEAL] into a scenario where they're looking for other outs," surmised guest Gary Vaynerchuk, that the reason why the Navy SEAL spoke out was for a financial gain."

"Because it's these few individuals [Navy SEALs] that can move the needle. I think this is more compensation."

Guest Stan Van Gundy also defended the possibility that the SEAL financially capitalized on his actions in the raid saying, "But he's [the Navy SEAL] watching them make money and profits from this. He's going to get nothing from it?"

Watch the clip and listen to the interviews as Huntsman voices her concern on the timing of the article suggesting that, "You could give this information ten years from now, 20 years from now. But I feel like we're still at war."

I was stuck in an emergency room waiting room from 9 to 10 p.m. on Monday with CNN locked on the TV. It was the longest hour of my life. I don't know what was worse: How stupid and poorly informed the four guests were, or how unwilling Deutsch was to actually moderate the debate. I haven't seen that much unintelligible crosstalk since "Crossfire" went off the air. The topics were just plain silly. I hope we don't see this type of worthless commentary on CNN in the future.
