I was just watching the interview Piers Morgan had with the father of a Sandy Hook victim. In conversation with the father he described the victim as " being blown to pieces" I can't believe the lack of compassion/ sympathy Piers exhibited in making a comment like that to a grieving father. Sad commentary regarding journalism today.

Scott, your comments don't change the facts about Piers comments. Speaking of bad governing. Do you recall the recent killing of the Volunteer Firefighters with and AR-15 in New York State? The killer had previously been incarcerated for killing his grandmother. What kind government lets a guy like that out of prison, if he would have been hanged like he should have two good men would still be alive. Think it through.

The person you speak of did not buy that weapon legally; I fail to see how the obtaining of weapons illegally can be compared to the legal purchase and use of firearms by law abiding Americans. To rest all pro gun propaganda on the tragedies that have taken place over the past few years is preposterous; pro gun advocates are failing to report the incidents where a law abiding citizen has used legally obtained firearms to protect themselves from criminals and psychopaths during the same time frame. Law abiding citizens protect their families, businesses, and homes with these weapons.
Piers, It is with such pain that I just watch you try to reason the pizza shop owner who is giving a discount to customers who are "packing". As an American, I am sorry that you have discovered America's dirty little secret. Educated in politics and other areas within my expertise cannot be compared to misspelling a word or two or making one grammatical error. It is ridiculous to tell someone whom has 279 credit hours of college education that they are not educated based on that alone. When you look at textbooks and journal articles by experts in all fields, one will find errors. This does not in any way take away from their intelligence. Plus, I think it is a very bold and blanket statement to state that the British are intellectually superior to all Americans. Even blue collar workers have intelligence in their areas of expertise. Can you replace a head gasket on your vehicle, wire a home to code, or properly lay a tile floor? This does not apply only to Americans but people from all nations. As a CNN viewer from outside the US. It is stunning how Americans hold on to their weapons in 2013. The image you are presenting to the world through CNN is that you live in an extremely violent country where the citizens are killing each other in their homes as well as your streets of your cities at an alarming rate.
It is shocking to the rest of the civilized world to see the US as such a violent country. It seems everyone walks around with guns deciding who lives or dies depending on how much they feel threatened. In your homes you claim to want to arm your self against intruders, I guess alarm systems are not sold in your country. Nor does that explain why the vast majority of gun deaths in the home are a result of domestic violence. Everyone says they kept their guns locked up. Obviously they don't. Students kill each other, your answer arm the teachers. Bullets, guns in Walmart. As easy as buying toothpaste. It is a sad commentary on your country.

the second amendment guarantees the right to "keep and bear arms" it does not state that we only have the right to keep arms in our homes. Perhaps you should read the amendment word for word. I don't know who the woman was with Antonio Mendez, but it was pretty obvious that she was none too pleased with what former President Carter had to say about the whole "Argo" story. Her nose was so far out of joint it wasn't even in the picture. How about Ken Taylor, his family and his team of Canadians noses should be out of joint. Mr. Affleck should be ashamed of himself, but instead he pats himself on the back for having thrown out an "also ran" ribbon in Mr. Taylor's direction.

The investigating Detective on the case originally asked for charges of Murder 2, he then changed it to suggesting Manslaughter – when the governor realized that there were issues with SPD, he appointed a special prosecutor to investigate and she determined that the defendant should be charged with Murder 2 and he is currently awaiting trial on that charge. Now, here we have a defense attorney that is trying to get the Trial continued because he "needs more time" and "more money." Instead of working on the case, he and the GZ family are busy conducting media tours in an attempt to spread the defendant's false message and pander for more money after having spent over a quarter of a million dollars in donations on delinquent bills, smart phones, a 5 bdrm house with a view. GZ has profited and is averaging an estimated $125,000 per year for murdering Trayvon Martin and wants society to continue to fund his new life style of not working and eating.
Trayvon was a minor who did nothing wrong and the lack of any of GZ's DNA on Trayvon proves that. Go to the above link and read and hear for yourself what the evidence and witnesses say. You will be disgusted that GZ and O'Mara continue to have no remorse and use Trayvon's death for profit.

Piers, having listened to your passoinate views about gun control I wonder why you don't have the same passion for other deadly american habits. Let's take Alcohol for instance, no one NEEDS Alcohol any more than they NEED an assault rifle yet more children are killed by Alcohol related deaths, (drunk driving, etc.) than by Assaults weapons. Over half of violent crimes and domestic violence is committed by individuals are under the influence of Alcohol. . I am curious do you use Alcohol and do you support a ban on it. If you apply your logic on Assault Weapons to Alcohol for instance I would expect to see you speaking out against it's use with the same passion. Alcohol kills about 85,000 Americans every year. There are 300,000 incidents of Drunk Driving daily in America. One person is killed every 48 minutes in an alcohol related car wreck. 3 million acts of violence are committed by drunk people every year. 25% of workplace accidents are alcohol caused. 6000 teenagers are killed in Drunk driving incidents every year. If you want to save lives you should realize that assault weapons aren't nearly as dangerous as alcohol. Again Piers I wonder if you drink Alcohol and support a ban on it.
I am another Canadian who is boycotting the movie "Argo" because it is 90% false (as former President Carter explained) - just a typical display of American bravado (mostly lies).
