Father who lost his son on 9/11 speaks out on the arrest of Sulaiman Abu Ghaith: "The families are very happy that he's been caught"
Tonight, "Piers Morgan Tonight" welcomed a panel of legal and terrorism experts to break down the announcement that Osama bin Laden's son-in-law Sulaiman Abu Ghaith was captured and brought to New York by United States officials.
Joining Piers Morgan from our New York studio was CNN Contributors Fran Townsend and Paul Cruickshank as well as Alan Dershowitz and Former Deputy FDNY Chief Jim Riches. Also joining the panel from California, former CIA case officer Bob Baer.
"It's a significant coup for the Americans here," Cruickshank said. "Part of the discussions about whether they should attack the United States ... he came down on the side of 'yes we should attack the United States.'"
Baer said he thinks the operation was "well done." "Getting the FBI to actually take custody of the man is key to this operation because the chain of evidence is going to go right from them into the court and we're going to have a clean trial here."
Dershowitz didn't sound optimistic about the case:
"This is a very, very thin indictment," Dershowitz said. "It's a typical, like mafia-style indictment."
But Riches, who lost his son on 9/11, is happy to see Ghaith has been caught:
"The families are very happy that he's been caught," Riches said. "There has been no justice for the families. We're outraged ... Let's get these trials going in New York City. All the people that were affected that day can go see the trials."

Thank you to all the military and leadership involved in capturing Bin Laden's son-in-law, Abu Ghaith, and returning him to the United States to face trial. It's good to see the dedication of those in "Zero Dark Thirty" is still alive and working to keep all Americans free. As a parent of a 9/11 victim I say keep up the good work.
Piers- Do a public service for NRA NASCAR. Tell all the good folks going to the race, bring thier guns too race. Fire off a few rounds at start of race, too exercise their second amindment right......OH What UP NSCAR does not allow guns at the race. What Up with that.

The military tribunals of Guantanamo are a better venue than civil courts for prosecuting al Qaida terrorists: speedier, more just, less expensive, and far less obtrusive for the people of New York. Criticism of Guantanamo is regrettable and undeserved. Our nation’s military forces have dedicated their best legal talent to the proceedings at Guantanamo. They have gone to great lengths to ensure justice for those on trial. I truly believe that Guantanamo’s courtroom is the best and most appropriate place for Sulaiman Abu Ghaith.
They got nothing on this guy. Biggest waste of time, a show trial in for the Yorkers. Since they brought him back and have given him US rights I guess he can claim he has Freedom of Speech rights. Another administration mistake just like Bengahazi which the News Media will ignore.
