READ about Piers Morgan's long career in journalism here.
Coming up tonight at 9, Piers Morgan sits down for a face to face conversation with one of the most-decorated and acclaimed actor of his or any generation: Tom Hanks.
A veteran of more than 50 films, with a trophy shelf that boasts SAG, MTV, Golden Globe, People's Choice, Emmy, and Academy Awards, Hanks is readying for his broadway debut, as he'll star in the upcoming Nora Ephron play "Lucky Guy."
But away from the screen and stage spotlights, Hanks lives a relatively quiet existence, alongside his longtime mate Rita Wilson:
"We’ve been married for 25 years and it seems like we’ve been married 2-and-a-half to me, it’s blown by so quick. And we have two more kids and four of them all together and I tell you every day is fun. Every day is a blast with Rita Wilson."
A guest of Morgan herself in May, Wilson spoke emotionally of her husband, saying "if love is a feeling, or a cellular thing that happens to your body, it went through me, and that's pretty much who he is, and how he's been."
Joining "Piers Morgan Live" this evening, Hanks is equally sweet in his spousal description:
"She has this combination of social grace and life forth – force that is not in the Hanks DNA. If you’re actually of it. I mean we have a degree of mercilessness. But she has mercifulness," he explains. "I must say that when I met Rita, I thought, 'oh, this is what it’s supposed to be like when you are married to someone. It’s supposed to be this carefree and easy and, you know, oddly enough, weighty.'"
Watch the clip, and listen to the exchange, then tune in at 9 for the "Piers Morgan Interview" with the star of such classic films as "Big," "Sleepless in Seattle," "Saving Private Ryan," "Philadelphia," and "Cast Away."
