"Piers Morgan Live, Rewind" – Suze Orman and a live studio audience talk finances, family and marriage

Whether you fell asleep early, stayed out too late, or simply want to watch it again, we realize it's not always possible to get your entire "Piers Morgan Live" fix from television. As an answer to this, we offer the below labor of love – "Piers Morgan Live, Rewind" – dedicated and designed to getting you caught up and connected to the conversation.

  • Suze Orman talks about the disadvantages of not being married

With a live studio audience surrounding the set, on Tuesday evening Piers Morgan welcomed financial guru Suze Orman to share her expertise on a bevy of topics, in the process answering questions from those in attendance, and also responding to inquiries submitted via social media.

As part of a debate with Ryan Anderson, and on the backdrop of ongoing Supreme Court arguments relating to Proposition 8, the host of CNBC's "The Suze Orman Show" explained the disadvantages of not having same-sex marriage recognition at the federal level.

"There is also tremendous economic disadvantages to not being able to be married," said Orman. "While it is true that every state can say (that does the nine states,) you can legally get married, it means nothing on the federal level."

"As a legally married couple on a federal level, K.T. [Orman's partner] would be able to collect half my Social Security. Upon my death, she would get my entire Social Security. But not now. We don't get to participate at all."

  • Orman on Sheryl Sandberg and high achieving women

Orman showered praises for Facebook COO, Sheryl Sandberg and her book "Lean In" noting, "If they [Sandberg's critcs] really read the book, they would understand that what she said is absolutely true."

"Women need to help each other up. Women need to be, you know, really the best cheerleader for somebody else saying great, that happened to you, I love that for you."

  • Orman on dealing with financial Bankruptcy

In classic Orman fashion, the financial guru answered questions from the studio audience and gave advice on personal finance including advice on handling bankruptcy.

"If you are claiming bankruptcy, you have got to learn," Orma advised. "Because if you get yourself into that situation again, if you go out and you rack up all this credit card debt and all this stuff again, and you have to claim bankruptcy again, then I say shame on you."

The difference between Larry King and Piers Morgan is that Larry King was always an unbiased presenter.

You're right Flora, I used to watch Larry King years ago, and he was never offensive. The people he interviewed always knew they were not going to be abused.

    Piers,
When you first began your program on CNN, you were fantastic – fair, unbiased, and exhilarating to listen to, but the longer you stay, the more arrogant and opinionated you become, and we are no longer planning to watch your program. Wish Larry, or someone like him, could take your place.

Well-stated!!! Hopefully, Piers Morgan will be replaced sooner than later – (Ed Schultz finally got the boot off MSNBC) – Piers and the liberal and conservative guests provide circus entertainment without much value. After seeing Suze Orman appearing as if she was just short of a lit fuse and both Pier's and her arrogance and distasteful rantings, the show will continue to be on my remote scrolling and not a program destination. Ryan Anderson was a classy, thoughtful and credible guest.

Ms. Orman, credit card debt isn't the major 1st, 2nd or even 3rd reason for filing bankruptcy – even if they were, shame on you for trying to dissuade individuals for taking advantage of morally sound and intelligent legal protection that's been on the law books since the 1500s . . . shame on you, for not being more accurate & logical about the options available to "the individual" . . . no one said anything like this when Kodak, Hostess, Reader's Digest filed for bk . . . and they had imminently more resources than the average family.

Yes kim, But irrispocibilty with credit cards is the #1, #1, #1 problem in american home, culture, values ( because mommy and daddy dosent teach respect of credit and credit cards any more). Corprate blaththomy ( visa – thats my opinon) push you to sign up, spend and die in interest then Visa writes it of on loosses on their taxes. And theyve got the best lawyers to dictate no payment of taxes to the U S government.

How about shredding our past way of doing thing in the area of po culture, education , andthe respect of the dollar. re-boot the values of the finacial way of thinking and hold the banks and wall street accountable for starting this mess, and dishing out free loans, re-morgages ( sure get that value of your house out on an equity loan and goto Hawaii and buy a second home.) The banks stole the american dream and sent it to the top 1% and left US all hanging in irrisponcibility. NOW: Anything can happen to anybody on anyday and change your comfortable life ( and im guilty and a victim – of bothsides of the coin) The middle rich are going to feel the strains on their lives soon also, because the top greedy dosent care about anyone, even their partners. they'll be left to fend for theirselves in our world, I promise! Dosent excuse no matter wgere we are in our finacila life it is are due respocibility to knock back into our chlidren now and the future that your credit and reputation is the only slice of oppurtunity to a dying middle class dream and a healthy future. things have happen , but we must suck it up. Take words of wisdom from smart trusworthy finacial people, Like lets say Lisa who tells the honest to god truth, and boy, That truth hurts. Strap up your boots and get to work!

Pity–Suze really is an attractive woman, so I feel deeply sorry that her so-called "partner" is another rather unattractive woman when she should be standing tall and proud next to a goodlooking MAN!

Hey America, What about our due responcibility to pay fair taxes on purchaces and the Internet debtae of assessing our income for the staes and Us economy to fire on all cylinders and thats without any help from the corperate mega machine who pump out product. How should we address this issue to help solve fiscal balance and fairness. how should we sovle the purchase power neglection? Are you a hippocrite or a problem solver who has ideas?

Lots of people are without the benefits of marriage.
–two elderly sisters never married and live together
–a son who never married and lives with his widowed mother
–a granddaughter who never married lives with her elderly grandmother.....

They don't ask to get "married" to each other ! They merely want such benefits NOT tied to marriage. (rather than destroying what marriage means)
