As much of the world's Christian community looks forward to one of the year's most-religious weekends, and with a brand new pope having recently been elected, this evening Piers Morgan welcomes Franklin Graham for a live, face to face interview.
One of the nation's foremost Evangelical Christians, having preached to more than three million people at more than 125 events, Graham is the son of legendary minister Billy Graham, and the president and CEO of multiple religious organizations.
A staunch opponent of same-sex marriage and domestic unions, this evening's appearance by Graham comes on the backdrop of ongoing Supreme Court arguments relating to Proposition 8 and DOMA.
A returning guest, in the past the 60-year-old missionary has used the platform to explain his personal position on the matter, saying in part "I cannot accept gay marriage. I'm not homophobic. I'm not against gay or lesbian people. They are free to live however they want to live. But I believe God makes it very clear that marriage is between a man and a woman."
In addition to a primetime conversation with Graham, tonight's program will also feature a new debate on gun legislation, with visits from a pair of Connecticut police chiefs, as well as Dana Loesch and Grover Norquist.

I so agree with you. She and others like her are so fanatical it makes me rethink my opinion of allowing any gun rights anymore. Anyone so incapable of compromise or the ability to discuss a problem without listening to both sides while yelling to overpower their opponents is not someone I want carrying a gun. Is there some way to ask Dana Loesch to stop smiling and laughing during what is supposed to be a discussion about gun control, specifically in relation to Sandy Hook? I know it may seem funny to people like her, but twenty murdered kids is not a laughing or smiling matter. Secondly, I don't know what her background is, but I seriously doubt she has ever served in the military, so stop lecturing people about whether an AR-15 is a military style assault weapon. I served for six years and carried two different versions of an M-16, and AR-15 is exactly the same weapon except that is limited to semi auto. Even with that difference, its a weapon designed for the battlefield and has no place in the hands of civilians.
The more I watch Piers Morgan the more my opinion changes. He alone has done more for the gun advocates than anyone else in the news media. He continually shouts down anyone who has a valid argument. I would have been in favour of more gun control at one time but now am definitely going over to the pro gun side.
Piers does get animated sometimes almost to the point of obnoxious. His rants, however are not the issue. He sounds almost as bad as Dana did but more passionate. Dana was just following her right wing agenda to keep her audience. Until I hear a legitimate argument against banning guns that can fire so many rounds in such a short period of time (like the AR-15), I think they should have the same status as the Thompson sub machine gun.
I am all for 5 round magazines and background checks. I live in Canada where this is the law and don't see it as a problem.
What really annoys me is Piers apparent arrogance. His first interview tonight was quite good because he really couldn't bully his guest. And, yes Dana is also a pain.

Let's follow her thinking: all semi-automatic weapons are functionally equivalent. Further, the whole gun control debate is pointless based on semantics and confusion over gun engineering.
If all semi-automatic weapons are functionally equivalent, why is it a problem to get the weapon of choice for mass murderers off the streets?
Why do we need to outfit our police forces with semi-automatic and automatic weapons? A 9MM handgun should suffice by Dana's definition of weapons. What is she even arguing about? Take the gun grammar to the shooting range.
There is a BIG difference between a six shooter, a 9MM sidearm, a shotgun, and a .223 Bushmaster. Lanza killed 26 in 5 minutes. Try that with a smaller gun with smaller magazines.
There's a reason our soldiers carry M-16s into battle: it's because if they went in with revolvers, they'd be outgunned. Ergo, some guns are more efficient at killing than others.
This simple though is lost on Dana and the NRA.
Every time I hear Dana Loesch on the show I turn the channel. It really doesn't matter what she is saying. I guess CNN has such a large market share they can absorb the fact that a lot of viewers prefer a more intellectual experience with regards to news broadcasts. As a matter of fact, the only contributors I even listen to anymore are Sanjay Gupta, David Gergen, Jeff Toobin, and John King. At least there is some depth to them. Well, time to see whats on my local news as I know in Boise they are polite and don't yell at each other and act like idiots.

Yes we need to have serious conversations about this issue but three months out to have a woman screaming about reloading – honestly? My colleague lost his daughter. I drive through Sandy Hook several times a week. Find some composure and some tact, you awful people.
I have been a sportsman for many years, I will never forget the day I walked into my local sporting goods store and saw what appeared to be a military style weapon next to the traditional hunting guns, I walked out of the store and never returned. I remember the discussion years ago when they were trying to get those weapons off the street and law enforcement supported the ban and I remember the NRA opposing the ban. I remember it well because that was the day I dropped my membership in the NRA. I have to put a wooden plug in the magazine of my shotgun because according to state law I cant have more then three rounds in the magazine while hunting ducks. Now its legal to have 30 or more rounds in the magazine to hunt humans. What in Gods name is wrong with us, will all of the sane people stand up and take our country back this is nuts.

Semi automatic is the only mode soldiers use in most professional armies. So you may have an M16 automatic, but you are using it as an AR15 and wish you had AR15. The argument that AR15 is not a military grade weapon is ridiculous or very dishonest. We need to force gun owners to buy insurance for their guns so they can pay for the damage that they may cause. I don’t own an AR-15, but if someone wants to protect himself against gang bangers that may outgun him, it’s not my place to say that he can’t have it, just because I myself don’t need it. And I think there’s a good possibility the sight of those big guns can intimidate even armed criminals causing them to flee (you may not have to even fire a shot). That is a life saved! Wouldn’t it be a great defense mechanism for anyone, especially if you are a small-built woman or a senior person or physically disabled?

I’m thinking this gun-control debate will even have an impact on 2014 election. If Democrats are not so scared, why did Harry Reid take off the ban from the bill? We’ll see what happens next year. Just when I was about to believe that someone had slipped something into the drinking water of all Americans that somehow has killed off any form of normal thinking, it has gladdened my heart to read here that sense IS ALIVE and well and even though our politicians have let us down. Guns are a part of the problem, more specifically the sale of guns and the profits of those sales. So by banning assault weapons you reduce sales/profit and the monster is weakened.
So all of you who forfeit your hard earned money to support an industry of death and destruction I hope your fear is lessened (although I don't think the NRA will let it be).

I don't think the NRA has anything to do with the historic high levels of gun sales we are seeing. I think the gun companies might be thanking the current administration though. Most companies in business have to spend large sums in advertising to achieve high levels of sales. Every time the administration makes a gun control announcement it's free advertising on primetime.

This "show" was a debacle with Morgan and Loesch ranting at each other at the same time and overriding Van Jones to make it a three-way babel. What a piece of ill-mannered and ill-managed crap. I commend Morgan for maintaining the debate on guns in America, but the way he moderates it has turned this part of the debate into an absurdity.
