"Piers Morgan Live, Rewind": Ed Sheeran clears up Taylor Swift rumors; The president's faith adviser talks Newtown

Whether you fell asleep early, stayed out too late, or simply want to watch it again, we realize it's not always possible to get your entire "Piers Morgan Live" fix from television. As an answer to this, we offer the below labor of love – "Piers Morgan Live, Rewind" – dedicated and designed to getting you caught up and connected to the conversation.

  • The Rumor Mill: Ed Sheeran clears up Taylor Swift rumors

"When that rumor came out, it kind of felt like a bit of - a bit of lazy journalism, to be honest," Sheeran said, "because I think people when - whenever she's pictured with someone, people will say that she's dating them, whoever they are."

Sheeran is confident he is not Swift's latest fling:

"I think you can be friends with someone without having to sleep with them. I've got - I've got morals."

  • "Gut-wrenching doesn't describe it": The President's faith adviser talks Newtown

"Jesus, three times in the Gospel, says that one of the worst things that people can do, one of the worst sins we can commit is to cause our little children to stumble," Joshua Dubois began. "And from Newtown to the streets of New York and Chicago, our kids aren't just stumbling, Piers, they're dying. And that reality really settled in with me in - in Newtown in those - in those private moments with those parents."

Dubois described President Barack Obama's actions in the days following Newtown and explained how their presence often meant the most to those grieving families:

"There's not a lot you can say. You just have to be present. And the president was present for those parents at the time... So just his presence meant a lot to them. And I just, you know, to the extent that I could, I tried to be - to be present for him."

Its really Ironic that the State ( TEXAS) whos yelling the loudest with a blow horn to the rest of the country that we cant touch their guns or better LAWS to protect our Safety is the "LONE STATE" in the news with an Executed Sheriff and his wife, and a District Attorney of the same area dealing witha prison system who is growing stronger that the Police officials ( though it can happen in any state). But Texas shouts leave our guns alone or we'll fix you and we'll succeed from the UNION,, as alot there called for! Better get your house in order ( because this is a really serious problem you need to get control of) and get on board with a Natioal registry data base for all guns, so you can track them privately sold guns that are killing the head of your entire county law enforcement! Waht a way to track gangs " witha all around gun registery that would out the ones selling the criminals committing those crimes..........

If you want to discuss the death penalty, how about the ultimate death penalty - abortion.
100% of those killed via abortion are innocent....

Piers you have a free shot at these pro gun morons ever time they mention the increased crime rate in Australia as a result of tighter gun control. It's complete rubbish. All that has changed is we've never had another massacre and suicides of young men have fallen dramatically. Less guns = less people killed. Very simple maths. The underlying insecurity of all of these pro gun nuts is remarkable. Two questions I would ask these people next time they're on:

1/On the topic of Australia ask them how many times they've been to Australia and if they have been did they feel vulnerable without their guns ?

2/ How many times have they needed to use their guns ( actually fire them ) in order to keep themselves safe
My guess is the vast majority of these people would freeze in panic if faced with a life and death situation in which a gun was required.

Mental health is a big part of this discussion. How about the mental health ( insecurity ) of those who are clinging so tightly to their beloved guns ? The vast majority of Americans I meet are embarrassed about the gun culture in America.

More guns don't necessarily mean more homicides. Despite Britain's gun ban, the overall homicide rate in Britain is nearly 40% lower than the Swiss, German and French rates. The Swiss, on a per capita basis privately own nearly 8 times as many firearms as the Brits, and the Germans and French own nearly 5 times the number. The Swiss, Germans and French are ranked 3rd, 4th and 5th globally in terms of private gun ownership, conversely the British are ranked 88th. If guns are the key driver of homicide rates then these three countries, including Spain and Italy, two other large gun owning Western European nations should have significantly higher homicide rates than Britain, but they don't, they have some of the lowest rates on the planet.

Using the same argument the NRA uses, then why don't we allow all countries to have nuclear weapons? After all, nuclear bombs don't kill people, people kill people. All countries would feel safer that way.

  8. NRA buff

Its a bit of a twist that the NRA is allegedly pro-2nd amendment, but at last years NRA convention in St.Louis members were unable to carry their legally permitted inside the venue. Many NRA members turned back around and walked away from the venue. The NRA sees fit to discourage ant gun people, but their members were banned from carrying at their convention last year.Members questioned their decision on choice of venue.NRA members were told"Doont like the rules dont come".NRA members in the different affiliate groups were then ostracized and cut down for speaking out.I guess the NRA wants members to toe the party line and not ask questions. Some running the group are hypocrites themselves.
