"Piers Morgan Live, Rewind": PJ Crowley on fearing North Korea, Michael Reagan on gay teachers and Obama's 5% pay-cut

Whether you fell asleep early, stayed out too late, or simply want to watch it again, we realize it's not always possible to get your entire "Piers Morgan Live" fix from television. As an answer to this, we offer the below labor of love – "Piers Morgan Live, Rewind" – dedicated and designed to getting you caught up and connected to the conversation.

  • Fearing North Korea: Country promises 'moment of explosion'
  • On a day which saw North Korea warn "the moment of explosion is approaching fast," on Wednesday evening Piers Morgan asked guest P.J. Crowley to assess the likelihood of an imminent nuclear conflict:

"I really don't think so," said the former Secretary of State for Public Affairs, when asked if the United States has reason to fear a forthcoming incident: "The bottom line is, North Korea is crazy but they're not suicidal. The Kim family business, they want that to continue. The Kim family reign, they want to continue. So they'll make a lot of noise. But I don't think that they're going to jump off the cliff."

  • Confusing Curriculum: Michael Reagan against teaching marriage

Meanwhile, Wednesday evening's program also featured an interview with Michael Reagan, the author behind an eyebrow-raising op-ed in an Ohio newspaper that linked same-sex marriage to "polygamy, bestiality, and perhaps even murder."

The adopted son of the former president, Reagan explained his point of view, noting that his issue is not with sexual orientation, but specifically, the redefinition of marriage:

"About gay teachers? I don't care about gay teachers. I don't ask a teacher if they're gay or straight. I want to know if they're good teachers," said the former American radio host and Republican strategist. "I don't think we should be, in fact, teaching about marriage in the school room where our kids can't read, can't write, and sure as heck can't add."

  • Show me the money: Obama takes 5% pay cut

Also as part of "Piers Morgan Live" Wednesday, the host invited Elise Jordan and Marjorie Clifton to debate the significance of Barack Obama's self-imposed five percent pay-cut.

"I think that there's a lot of criticism of 'are you taking accountability? Are you still taking vacations?'" noted Clifton, the founder of "Spike the Watercooler." "It gets pointed at the president. And so I think, you know, a lot of these types of decisions are basically trying to get people invested in the idea of 'we are actively doing things.'"

Jordan, meanwhile, found the cut to be rather insignificant:

"It's such a superficial move. I think that it accounts to about 17 hundred a month for him? That's nothing! He lives in one of the most posh places in the world with his every need taken care," said the former Director of Communications at the National Security Council. "I just don't see why he thinks that this one meaningless gesture is really going to resonate with the American public."

Why does Piers continue to be fascinated by guns in America? EVERY time I turn on CNN he is appalled that Americans can have firearms. Someone needs to take him out to a range so he can satisfy his boorish curiosity about firearms in the US. I'm SO tired of his ranting. Turning off now.

Well little mouse, too many stupid, careless people aqruire guns and dont get training, they dont lock them up right ( they dont realize their children a more clever than themif they want access), alot of gun pwners sell their guns privately to probable criminals without registerring them. And theres a Pandemic of gun killings nightly, Mickey!

They did take him out to a range. It was all recorded and shown on Piers' show months ago.

And it only made things worse. Heavy handed editing of the program (more along the likes of Andrea Mitchell) were done on that one show to change the whole narrative in the failed attempt to make Piers Morgans foolish argument sound reasonable.

Piers, regarding your April 4 show with Newt Gingrich, your argument regarding universal background checks will not help the situation with guns at all. In Canada we have to have a course before we can obtain a rifle and before we can obtain a handgun, a background check must be done, however this background check does not include a psychological examination. Even if it did, you only have to fool the psychiatrist as they would not have access to your medical files and even if they did, there may not be any mention of any mental illness! We are only allowed 10 rounds in the magazine for a handgun, but I can reload a new magazine in less than 2 seconds and there is no limit on the number of magazines I can carry or own. Out of the 600" gun related deaths." In Canada each year, almost 2/3 are suicides and out of the remaining only between five and 10 cases are committed with registered/legal weapons. The rest of the weapons are illegally obtained, leaving the argument open regarding Chicago as the example that only the bad guys will have guns!

GARY, best answer i can give is for you to google the second ammendment thoughts of thomas jefferson, once in there it will get you to other locations , and you will find excerpts that all declaration signers have given on the second ammendment, very insightful , and they listed it in importance as number 2 . its a lot more than we all think, I watched a gun show on some manufacture of guns in poland, at the end of the show, the host was standing in front of the dahkow concentration camp in poland, he stated this is why we have the second amendment, and that these people should have not turned in their guns. obviously that was too the extreme , I tend to think of it as armed people are citizens, unarmed people are subjects .

I presume you/the host are talking about Dachau. Ask the six million Jews and other millions massacred by the Germans in WWII, where they kept their guns. How dare you use this as an analogy.

Just so you folks know, I am definitely not advocating a system such as ours in Canada! Just pointing out that regardless of what you do, the bad guys will still find a way of obtaining firearms! As my lawyer tells me to make sure that if I use a firearm to defend myself or my family that I make sure they are dead, as dead people do not testify! You would be hard-pressed to find a jury that would convict you of anything other than not having the firearm locked away properly and that offense would not be what you call a felony.

MARK you state that bad guys will always get a gun , and that is so true , they talk about background checks to stop criminals , the people that started this uproar were not criminals, they were mentally ill or crazy people, their actions turned them into criminals, but you are so correct ,that element will always get a black market gun, or steal a gun, or somehow aquire it, punishing law abiding people with more regulations , serves only to make you feel like you did something , and you did nothing but hassle the innocent . the problem is still there . stop and think mass murders dont attack gun ranges do they.

Thank you, Dana. You have stated it better than I could! They will only ever attack those who are unable to look after themselves. Even when they attack a precinct, the cops are not ready for them. Just goes to show that the five police chiefs , Piers had on it a while back did not know what they were talking about, a.k.a. someone would have been able to intervene in the time it would take to reload a magazine, if they can't do it when their own offices/precincts get attacked on occasion, then how do they expect the general public to do it? Have a great night.

Piers would be much more effective if he allowed his guests to actually answer the questions! CNN hire another person to take his place!!

I totally agree. I walked away from the television tonight because Piers will not allow his guests to answer his questions and he rants and raves. I understand his passion and agree with most of what he is passionate about, but he is the "interviewer" and he needs to step back and let his interviewees answer the questions.

I am sick of the screaming and interruptions so that no one gets their point across, which is the "point" of the show.

Exactly, why would anyone goes on to his show unless you are 100% agree with him., Then there would be no show.
He is abusing the public forum of television.

THERESA, it was a reference to people turning in their guns before, they were rounded up and taken to the camps, had they not did that, they could have fought back at the time they were being rounded up, and actually i think it is a very good reference to use .and I knew i misspelled dachau when I wrote it , just didnt think it was that big of a deal.

I don't watch him but I wonder why this mouthpiece for the progressive agenda doesn't actually interview some people who have been involved in self-defense situations involving guns (and not the criminals). Perhaps, because it is logical and because he is unwilling to act in the best interest of his audience. Twisting the facts to meet a certain point of view is simply another way of controlling the flow of information. Do some research on violent crime in Great Britain and then be honest about the use of weapons in self defense. Pulling a trigger is simpler than beaning a perp with a bat and thugs know that. So do tyrants. As the saying goes - God may have created all men (women too) but Sam Colt made them equal.
