READ about Piers Morgan's long career in journalism here.
As a spectacular explosion and fire ripped through West, TX early Thursday morning, Piers Morgan spoke live with Cheryl Marak, a resident and member of the city council.
Calling in from her brother's home roughly two miles out of town, Marak revealed the extent of the damage she and her family are facing:
"Both of my houses are totally destroyed ... I had dogs in my house, it killed my dogs," Marak told Piers Morgan.
Marak's husband Marty is a member of the town's volunteer fire department, and was amongst the West residents fighting the blaze at the fertilizer plant:
"I am begging, begging him to let me come in and get him ... he said he can't, he's got to stay with his guys," Marak told the host, sobbing. "He won't leave, I would give anything if he would come home."
Watch the clip, listen further to Marak's emotional account of the explosion in West, Texas, and stay with CNN for updates.

Leave the country Piers. Do us all a favor and give that tiny flock of sheep you preach to an out to truth and logic.
You're on the wrong blog,mate.
Xenophobic comments, along with the other 5,000,000 all saying the same thing, are on the other pages.
We're talking and thinking of Texas.
Are you still here?
Absolute nightmare.Relatively or very recently there's been a factory blew up in Glasgow, many deaths, gas;a hotel in Aberdeen, few deaths, gas again;and a single woman's house in Dundee–which she miraculously escaped–again gas,and AFTER she'd been told by the[private]company there was no cause for concern. Then her house blew up.
