Amidst the aftermath of Wednesday evening's spectacularly devastating explosion in West, Texas, this evening "Piers Morgan Live" invited Sharon and Lisa Middlebrook to share details of their harrowing experience.
As terror approached last night, Lisa was laying in her nursing home bed as the ceiling and windows collapsed around her:
"I was watching TV, and all of a sudden the TV started to shake, the windows started to shake," she told Piers Morgan in an exclusive interview. "I closed my eyes. I saw glass flying. Then the roof collapsed on me."
After first checking on her sister's house nearby, Lisa then raced to the nursing home in an effort to save her sister-in-law:
"They were pulling residents out in wheelchairs and they were all in front of the rest home when I got there. I couldn't find Lisa." Sharon shared.
Lisa, however, was safe, save for some scratches and bruises. The town of West, meanwhile, is in much more pain.
"I was walking down the street and the houses were just destroyed. There was debris everywhere. The rest home itself, you could see, just looks like it collapsed inside itself," said Sharon. "Everybody in town's been touched one way or another."
Lisa Middlebrook feels touched too:
"I was just lucky," she said. "I just thank my guardian angels."
Watch the clip, and listen to the interview, as the Middlebrook women share further details into their experience amidst a tragic explosion that's left a Texas town reeling.
