"We're exhausted folks, but we have a victory here tonight" – MA State Police Col. Timothy Alben announces capture of "Suspect #2"

On the heels of Friday evening's dramatic capture of 19-year-old Dzhokar Tsarnaev, "Piers Morgan Live" carried a press conference in which representatives of multiple local and federal agencies shared details as to the state of the situation:

"We are eternally grateful for the outcome here tonight," said Massachusetts State Police Colonel Timothy Alben. "We have a suspect in custody."

Admitting fatigue, Alben expressed satisfaction with the end result of the week-long manhunt:

"We're exhausted folks, but we have a victory here tonight."

Next to the podium, Massachusetts Governor Deval Patrick offered thanks to all the various organizations and teams that aided in bringing "Suspect #2" into custody:

"I want to say how grateful I am," added Patrick. "To all of the law enforcement who worked so well, and so hard, together, TOGETHER, to bring us to tonight's conclusion."

Watch the clip, and listen to more of the press conference, and stay with CNN for the latest updates to a news event that has captured the attention of the United States, and the rest of the world.

So this week we learned the great deal of the people of Boston. When faced with adversity an entire city can untie an help aid to the apprehension of two men who thought they could make a statement to the world. Well there has been a statement to the world by the people of Boston and its seen with people cheering for the police as they drove out of Watertown to thanks, cheers and people holding up the American flag. Boston you have once again proved you will always be a city raised and lived by Patriots. Thank You All

Yep, even in our divisiveness over issues, when it matters, we come together and come out stronger and closer. Resolved to fix what's wrong while protecting and taking care of each other. 🙂

Boston Marathon Bombing – It’s About Time; Police and Federal Forces

They responded on Monday when the bombs went off at the Boston Marathon. They stayed on shift well after they should have been off. They came in from days off, canceled vacations. They came together, from other cities across the region.

They worked tirelessly for four more days and nights, in pursuit of the two suspects who bombed the Boston Marathon and brought the city to a halt, but the nation to its side. They sought the two brothers, one of whom set the bomb down at the feet of eight-year-old Martin Richard.

Then they fought with them at MIT, where the older brother was killed (perhaps by his younger brother, driving over him in the stolen SUV), and the younger brother fled the scene.

Then they searched through the night yet again, and all day the next day, house-to-house, door-to-door, still and always protecting the citizens, the community, their city.

Then they found him. Wounded, weak, hiding in a boat in a back yard. They exchanged gunfire. They talked him out. They ensured he wasn’t wired with explosives.

And they brought him in. In to the hospital, because he needed first aid. They needed him alive, but also the doctors have a job to do, and they took the hippocratic oath to save lives; even if no one would blame them for wanting to take a different route when just down the hall in the same hospital were wounded innocents this inhuman had attempted to murder in his terrorist plot with his brother and who knows who else.

They had risked their lives, yet again, day after day, to protect you and me.

They got him. They brought him in alive.

    And the people cheered.

Seems to me it’s about time we cheer our police.
