Huff Post Live's Abby Huntsman and Marc Lamont Hill joined Piers Morgan on Tuesday evening to help usher in a new segment on "Piers Morgan Live," "Breaking the News," where Morgan and guests take an in-depth look at latest news of the day.
On the topic of NBA basketball center Jason Collins' ex-fiance Carolyn Moos and Collins' recent announcement that he is gay, Huntsman commented on the fact that "she [Moos] was with him for eight years," with the understanding that he was heterosexual.
"She imagined spending the rest of her life with him," said Huntsman. "If I were to date someone for eight years, imagined myself marrying him, all the while him knowing he's gay and not being able to love me the way that I love him and just kind of stringing me along, I can understand why she's shocked."
"It actually opens up a much more interesting and provocative conversation about sexuality," noted Hill.
"Sexuality is very dynamic and very complex, I don't want to create a public narrative that somehow he was being devious or deceptive cuz there is a sort of narrative already of men in particular, black men who are gay or same gender-loving who somehow are deviously deceiving their sexual partners and I think it's much more complex than that."
