Donald Rumsfeld on Piers Morgan's signature debate segment: "Why do you call this 'The Grill'?"
As Washington and Barack Obama continue to aggressively address the scandal surrounding the IRS's inappropriate practice of targeting the Tea Party and other conservative political groups, Donald Rumsfeld joined Piers Morgan in studio for a live, face to face interview.
"Why do you call this 'The Grill'?" blurted Rumsfeld, referencing the host's signature debate segment.
"That's a little arrogant, isn't it? To suggest that you're grilling people as opposed to having a discussion?" asked the former Secretary of Defense.
"I don't think I'll take arrogant lectures from you Donald Rumsfeld," quipped a slightly chagrined Morgan, before ultimately earning Rumsfeld's insight on the IRS scandal.
"Nobody likes it. The people who aren't even targeted don't like it," said the man who served under both the Gerald Ford and George W. Bush administrations. "It's also illegal, anti-democratic and inexcusable and it should be dealt with in a very, very firm way."
Watch the clip, and listen to the interview, as Rumsfeld tells Morgan that along with the firing of the acting chief of the IRS, "I think some people may end up going to jail."

I would love to know why we are asking the likes of Donald Rumsfeld about transparency and honesty in government! Really???? Is this not the person who tried to get Nixon to go in to Iraq, and when Nixon said no because there was no way out waited another 40 years to build the perfect alliance for the same agenda? Sold a war based upon WMD there? I think CNN must be suffering from "historical amnesia!"

putting the 400-page dossier he was handed at the outset of the Iraq War in the bin.

Finally, an unemotional analysis with emphasis on the importance of letting the facts come out presented by Donald Rumsfeld with regard to the current issues involving the White House. Regarding his term as Defense Secretary, Donald Rumsfeld did not give excuses for decisions and actions that were taken, rather he explained the reasoning behind why decisions were made. I'm tired of emotional wrangling from both sides and DR seems like one of the few thinking adults in the room. Refreshing.

Rumsfeld loves the attention. Morgan should not have given him a forum.
He and the other Rep Elites engineered this media blitz against Obama.
I don't see scandals.
I see a President that is openly handling things in a proper manner.

Obama's admin and turn the tide of popular support for the Dems.

Rumsfield highlighted a good point....the American people want a President that will lead. Clearly, when a crisis hits, Obama heads to his next fundraiser. The Obama administration is a joke.
But are the Reps any more reliable or trustworthy in a crisis?

Leave it to Morgan to not see the forest for the trees. Facts are facts, and he's defended this administration on EVERYTHING. There is abuse of power at the highest levels in this administration, and no one on CNN wants to hold anyone accountable. It's sickening...not democratic...and dangerous.
What a flacid interview! Piers completly let Rumsfeld off the hook. Alowing him to say that Iraq was in any way justified, whithout any challenge, amounts to more media complicity in the 2nd most horrific criminal war entered into by the US. (Vietnam being the worst) Rumsfeld, Cheney & Bush LIED to the american people to suck us into the war and over 4,000 good americans died for their Lies. The evidence that no WMDs existed was quite conclusive, and the media ( including Piers) went right along with the administrations BS. And now they give Rumsfeld & Cheney a platform to smear anyone they want and to snipe at the present administration over anything. SHAME ON YOU PIERS!
