Cassandra Jenkins on missing grandparents: "They mean a lot to a lot of people"
Editor's note: We received word around 1:30pm ET Wednesday that Jenkins' grandparents were found alive.
On the heels of a devastating tornado that ripped through Oklahoma on the strength of winds registering more than 200 miles per hour, on Tuesday evening "Piers Morgan Live" invited Cassandra Jenkins to share her painful and emotional story.
Flanked by her family, Jenkins told Piers Morgan about her grandparents Thomas and Claudia Foutch who haven't been seen or heard from since the tornado made landfall in their town of Moore:
"We've tried to locate them at every hospital, every shelter, every Red Cross. Anything that we can possibly reach out to we have, and they are still not located," she said as part of her live interview. "They are both in their 80's. My grandmother suffers from some dementia. My grandfather has some heart trouble. We know they've been without medication now for two days which is scary in itself. We are just very, very worried."
Jenkins says her grandparents home is still standing, despite property less than a mile away having been leveled. According to witnesses, the Foutch's were seen leaving a funeral at 2:30 in the afternoon on Monday, but since that point, neither the elderly couple, nor their vehicle, has been accounted for:
"They are God-given people. They are very loving. They would give the shirt off their backs to anybody. They love their family. They love their grand kids, their great-grand kids. This is their life, is these kids and their family, and their church family," explained Jenkins, with tears welling in her eyes. "It is very out of character. They have never gone this far without trying to reach out to somebody. They mean a lot to a lot of people."
Anyone who has any information as to the whereabouts of Thomas or Claudia Foutch is asked to contact the Red Cross.

Possibly a stupid suggestion, but are there any traffic cameras along the route between where they were coming from and Moore that might shed some light on where they might have ended up? Is that something the authorities have checked? I'd hope so, but I know that they're also swamped/overwhelmed because of the damage from the tornado. It seems like something that would be worth looking into. I suppose it's possible there simply aren't any cameras, or maybe that's an avenue that's already been explored and it didn't yield any clues.

I imagine they ARE swamped, but don't go on record as saying, "All are accounted for" when they're not. Thx for calling out the Mayor on that one, Piers btw.. I'm very sorry they have lost their grandparents, but I'm disgusted with her comment on national television about the police not being helpful. The police, fire dept, and all of the first responders are nothing but heros! I thank them for all they do!

You can be as disgusted as you want. These are my grandparents! I realize they had more than my grandparents to help... but until you know the whole story you need to keep your opinions to yourself! THe mayor that said everyone was accounted for seconds after you said you could not find your Grandparents also has told a search and rescue group with K9s who are willing to come to OK for FREE to look for people and PETS that they are not needed. I am glad y

C'Mon Jonathan, I'd be the first to agree with you on this, but you gotta sympathize with these people. They need to find Thomas and Claudia! And all they're asking for is help. I thought they showed extreme tact during the interview, considering.. They're not attacking those hard at work, trying to sort out that mess in Moore 😉 Respectifully, Paul~

Is there any body of water that is near there, were a tornado could have picked up their truck, and right now it's under water, a fly over of the nearby ponds, and lakes might spot the red pickup. It was very odd the family never told anyone what they were driving, which would have been a huge clue

I am hoping that there will be an answer tonight on Piers Morgan ! I tried to get an answer on his facebook but its no use there n piers should take his page off there ! there is nothing but haters n evil mean people n never an intelligent person to interact with ! my grandparents were found safe and sound due only to the CNN broadcast and social media thank you so much for all of your prayers and thoughts and concerns. I can only hope and pray that the rest of the missing are found quickly and safely. thank you!!
When mayors and police say they do not want help from volunteers who have sccuesfully conducted search and rescue all over the globe, and Tom Cole lies saying new schools have safe rooms, a LIE, then what hope is there that someone else won't have the frustration of being ignored when their child or elderly loved one is gone?
If you watched the entire interview after mine, he interviewed the Mayor who stood there and said there weren't any UN-accounted for, that everybody had been found. At that time they were still getting those poor babies out of Plaza Towers! Piers flat out told him that he had just spoke to me and my grandparents were missing, that there was another elderly couple missing, and the mayor had to back the bus up... I think he was just relaying info that he was given by somebody else... i don't think it was intentional lying on his part. Neither here nor there really. I'm just glad everyone was eventually accounted for and the majority of them were in fact alive and safe. Its a miracle from God that we only lost 24 (not saying its not a tragedy at all, please don't take it that way, just saying it could have been so much worse!)

Piers did do a follow up story last night about 8:15 CST. I am the granddaughter that did both interviews. My grandparents are safe in their home. They got lost trying to get around the damage to get home. They slept in their truck for 2 nights, but the important thing is that they are SAFE!

I had to search everywhere to try to find out the outcome. I've just been concerned and remembering your sad and lost looks on National TV and then I couldn't find anywhere if they'd been found? I e-mailed CNN to try to find a follow-up on the story and found these few posts stating everyone is alive and fine. That's exactly what I was hoping that someone or they would see it on CNN and respond not realizing how you were frantically searching. It would have been nice if a follow-up story had been more publicized as we needed some happy news and it seems like only the drama is publicized and then when there's a pleasant outcome it's lost.
Thank you Marla. It was actually because of the CNN Broadcast that a lady had seen. She had been stuck in the madness on I-35 and decided to take out her camera, get out of her car, and take pictures. When she saw the CNN Broadcast something told her to go through those pictures and she found THREE pictures of my grandparents stuck in the same traffic on I-35! Can you believe that? She found me on Facebook, and we could see the Indian Hills Exit sign so we re-directed our search and found them. Thank you so much for your concern and prayers... we were so so scared!
