Rudy Giuliani on bringing Edward Snowden to justice: "I don't know what else he [Obama] can do"

On the heels of a day which saw Edward Snowden's globe-trotting itinerary scrutinized as though he were flying aboard Air Force One, on Monday evening "Piers Morgan Live" invited Rudy Giuliani to offer his perspective on the man who leaked details of the U.S. government's data-mining program.

As Snowden's whereabouts remain unknown, the former New York City mayor suggested that fleeing the country will ultimately make things harder on him:

"He would have had a shot at a strong emotional appeal to the jury. By having done what he's done – first of all, running off to China, making these additional allegations about the United States hacking China which may or may not even be true – and trying to appeal to these countries that are obviously very, very oppressive in the areas in which he's supposedly criticizing us," noted the guest. "The United States is paradise compared to China, Russia, Ecuador and Cuba, with regard to the press. And with regard to secrecy and transparency."

But despite the fact that America has thus far been unable to extradite Snowden, the one-time Republican presidential candidate stopped short of blaming the Democratic administration:

"Well, I think the president's doing everything he can to bring him to justice. I don't know what else he can do, he's using the legal system," he told Piers Morgan. "I hope the Justice Department is working behind the scenes to get this guy, because now it is affecting the credibility of the United States."
